    To me, a pressurized oil system means you actually have a place to tee off of to feed a small oil to a small turbo without having to run some sort of electric pump to feed it

    • @bradmaas6875
      @bradmaas6875 2 роки тому +10

      My first thought was turbo, second was oiling.

    • @stretchedbmx
      @stretchedbmx 2 роки тому +4

      @@bradmaas6875 could also probably run some kind of oil cooler(depending on how much pressure it makes since pressure drop could be an issue) but turbo would run a restricter anyway so that should be fine

      HI, pressurized oil system means nothing if not getting to con. rod big end bearing. Please let me know. If this is the case with this engine.

    The lower black cap that you called an oil drain is actually an oil filter. The GENERAC 459CC XT8000EFI ENGINE looks a lot like the new Predator 459. The replacement oil filter for the Generac is part# 10000027013.

    Me personally, want to see an all out bolt on style build. Meaning no rod and flywheel. Just to see how much you can get from it before needing that expensive stage 2 kit. Turn it 5-5500k RPM, Carb, springs, header, possibly a shaved head? timing key etc etc. Basically all you could do before you gotta drop $500 on the stage 2 stuff.
    On another note, this beast still has less rated torque than the duro max 440 ~1.75. Maybe less of a big deal because RPM @ 2800 vs 3600 on duro. HP don't really matter to me so much as torque, proven by off road karts, torque is all that matters. But Duro is rated more HP there too by over 2. Redbeard you need a dyno at the house!! Give some legit before and after numbers. That dyno go power sports has can't cost that much can it?

    • @gmcinnis6304

      operative word... RATED (by mfg) @ xx HP @ xxxx RPM's. some pppl have been knkown to ... stretch the truth a little to make a sale. I KNOW, that is unconscionable!!!! and u are offended... but it is the truth.

      cast flywheel above governed speeds is taking a dangerous gamble. It might grenade or it might not. Losing the engine is one thing, but catching flywheel frag is a worst case scenario. It's not worth the risk. if you don't swap the rod and it lets go at 5k at least it will be contained.

    • @nikdipetta
      @nikdipetta 2 роки тому

      @@angryroostercreations5194 People everywhere turn them to 6k no problems. The magnet is first to fling off and is actually well contained in the fan shroud. This is a myth that some how gained traction as being "oh so dangerous." When in reality, it is mildly threatening at best. I turn all my cast flywheels to 5500-6k and have yet to see a failure. Don't believe me? Plenty of old vehicles used cast iron flywheels and turned 6k rpm from factory. I assume then those were all on the ragged edge of exploding too? No built in safety factor?

    I'm thinking one of the biggest things that needs is an upgraded oil screen, it looks like it has one on the side cover that unscrews but it would be good to see one that will pickup small carbon deposits not just large debris that the standard screen catches. I've seen many golf cart engines with oil screens that had ruined bearings because the oil change interval was too high and the screen didn't catch the smaller deposits.

    Earlier was mentioned about turbo oiling. I also am interested, as well oil cooling and filtering. As you do your build if you could at least comment on the feasibility if not actually filter the oil, I would be interested. Your comments on oil starvation given pickup location and the gyrations the engine will go through on a personal mobility device (kart, bike) would be cool . Thanks very much Red Beard for all you do!

    I'd like to see you force feed oil, into that hole, that you pointed out and said that pressurized oil is sent, from the oil pump, through it. I'd like to see the oil draining from whatever gets pressurized oil. Like the camshaft. I didn't see if it has hydraulic lifters, like a Kohler Command. Just curious, if it does. I'm curious if you could talk about the charging systems in these motors as it's something pretty important to us for our lights amd so on. I think it's definitely worth the extra because of the pressurized oil system but I think the dipper on the rod is a bad thing. I think it would aireate the oil which is a bad thing to do. I would hope the aftermarket 4od would take it off. I don't think you could just cu it off a stock rod because it would mess with the balance of the rod and piston. I think I will definitely have to go and pick one of these up now.

    Ya could cut the cylinder off the block, and swap on a motorcycle jug and head! If you could aluminum weld, and access to a mill, just make a rod that fits the crank and piston, would be the simpler way to do it, especially if it has pressurized oiling, put about a 500cc jug on it, maybe 4valves! Probably get near 40 HP, if it will spin fast enough, because the head makes all the power, everything else just uses it!
