Lauren, you are the complete woman. At 74, I miss my energy and wish I had maintained a healthy regimen through the years. I m a retired RN who worked the night shift and my sleep was during the day. Maybe if I went to the gym my knees and back wouldn't have been worn down. I really miss my arm strength . I do garden and love it. My green beans, zucchini and tomatoes coming in nicely. Here in Illinois it had been in the 90 s and even watering a chore. We are very involved with helping care for the grandsons, so that motivates us to get out. 10 years post knee replacement for me and 10 years post liver transplant for my husband, so we are grateful for life s opportunities. I have been watching your videos for awhile and get inspired by your enthusiasm. I felt deeply for you when your mom passed.Mine was 91 when she passed a few years ago but I miss her and have taken on the roll of matriarch with my siblings . I had been hosting most of holidays until covid. My daughter just turned 41 and she is such a loving, involved mom with two hockey players. Sending light and love to you and your family.

If it is hot out get a shallow container (we use a large plastic plant saucer)and fill it with cold water, put it in the shade if you can. The chickens will step in it to cool their bodies off. And of course they will drink it. Chickens cannot cool themselves so the dirt bath as well as the cool water will help a lot. Maybe freeze watermelon or peas they will peck at it until they get to the treat and be cool while they are doing it. We are in the high desert in East San Diego it gets upwards of 100-110😭. I always feel bad for the girls in this heat.

Than you so much for another great motivation to clean 😇 I always like when you film while taking out the trash even tho I always hope it will last more than 3 seconds haha Also because I struggle so much to toss few things like old magazines, clothes stores catalogues/flyers and mostly any old clothes that can't be donated. So I always try to see if one of those things has been discarded when someone films while emptying trash bins around the house haha 🤭

I live in Western Wisconsin and my garden has had such rain that nothing is rooting. We have been having major flooding. I have lost a lot if plants.
For your tomato stakes, half of them are for plant support like peonies (larger at top), the other half are tomato cages. They all work. Make sure to water your tomatoes at the root, so you don't rot the blooms, or knock them off. And remember the first baby tomatoes take forever to ripen. It seems like months, because you are wanting them! Worth the wait.

for the table beds nearest the house, if you want to make them deeper so veg grows better, cut the legs shorter, and add to the height of the beds with more wood. you can add more soil for better growth and maintain a good height for maintenance of the veg and for harvest. you won't have to invest in all new beds and it'll increase the depth for better, deeper roots.

Hi Lauren, I rarely comment but watch often and wanted to finally say hello. Your videos are a sure fire what to help get me motivated and moving during the day. Thank you for sharing your energy with us.
We have a big garden and about 25 chickens that free range on an acre all to themselves. 😄 They're way more skittish than your chickens are. I wish i didn't have to chase them down to get a few chicken snuggles in.😆
Our garden has really struggled this year, we can't plant until after memorial Day because of the frost, but it frosted (28 degrees) in mid June!!! so we lost a lot of what was already doing well. It's fun watching your gardening skills grow and seeing you get an earlier start helps me get ready too.
Anyways, just wanted to thank you for all the work you do to keep your UA-cam channel up and going. You're an inspiration in all the fields.
    Cheers! 🍷From northern Utah
PS I miss the Victorian, but am so happy to hear you're feeling more and more at home. 🩷

Good morning Lauren so excited to see you posted a video this morning and the content you’re showing right now is your vegetable garden so excited to see this my squash and zucchini plants are just really not doing well for some reason. I just harvested a few cucumbers which you’re doing fine my tomatoes are starting to really Have growth on them I have hillbillies I have Cherokees. I have plum beef steaks and all of a sudden they’re just starting to happen but a couple of my beef steak tomato plants just really have to plant so I’m hoping they do a lot better watching your segment on your, I’m an amateur myself. I just added some more organic soil toall my beds because they two seem shallow in your element in your garden and with your chickens just very peaceful therapeutic way to start your day. Keep your videos coming. Have a wonderful weekend.

My squash and zucchini plants are just not doing well. My cucumbers are doing fine my green peppers. My tomatoes are starting to really takeoff now I guess patience is a virtue I live in Pennsylvania and it’s been really hot here. I think that’s it’s really helping. I laugh how you close up all your window treatments in your home to keep the sun out I do that too and my family teases me. They say it’s like living in a cave when they come over they do realize that it really does help. Keep it cool🤣. I look forward to more of your garden segments. It is so therapeutic and relaxing and it’s exciting when you start to see your garden growing 😊 I actually have wanted to try theAG1 if you don’t mind me asking what does it do for you? Enjoy your weekend Lauren and take care.😊

Hi Lauren. In Greece and in particular in Crete island, we get the zucchini flowers, get out the inside (stem) and stuff them with a mixture of rice, flesh tomato in very small pieces, olive oil, salt, paper, a pinch of sugar and spearmint, and we bake them in the oven. In the same way we stuff tomatoes and bell peppers. This dish is the famous Greek "gemista" (stuffed). 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
