    I really liked the layout with no sashing. It was totally scrappy and the stars popped. Great tutorial.

    Brenda sent us and I am so happy she did. I enjoy your teaching method and your quilting ideas. I bought these templates years ago and they just sat in the package. Now they have a purpose. Great idea and I plan to indulge myself in watching more of your videos. It may have taken you 3 years to get going but it was worth it and having a partner to help you is really great. ❤

      Hi Delwyn - It seems to be an even split between those who like the sashing and those who don't. I always ask Jason when I can't decide (meaning I like both options). I might have to make another one without the sashing this time. Thanks for watching!

    I have the very same rulers! In the nearly three years since I've never been inspired to use them. This project is going to the top of my 2024 list. I love the idea about the star. I'm considering 🤔 using three accent colors for the star and Kaffe scraps for the remainder of the block. I will use black for the sashing. Michelle this is SO wonderfully creative. Thanks for sharing. 🎶💐💖

      Hi Carla! I'm so thrilled that this inspired you!!! I think I'll work on a series next year by digging into my existing rulers to see what I can do with them that might a bit unique or different. Or just re-discover some of them! I'd love to see a photo of your project - you can always email me at bitsandpiecesquilting@gmail.com.

      Hi Diane - so glad you like the pattern. I've used the templates for another quilt that's on my channel as well and it has a completely different look, partially because of the fabric I used, but also because I made a different part of the template with the same fabric (to create pinwheels). Thanks so much for watching!

    I love this quilt. I don't remember what size template set I have but what I remember is it is either for an 8" or 6" finished block and there is a strong possibility that I have this 10" set as well. I have made my notes to make this quilt. 🙃 Template E will give you Big Pinwheels and Template D will give you little Pinwheels. 🤔

      There is so much potential! I've also seen some images on the internet showing how different pieces in different blocks, when made the same colour can create little fish and other fun shapes. I've had a lot of fun with these. Thanks for watching.

    Piece A in the Background color yields a 4-point Star. Piece C in the Background color yields a Friendship Star. Piece E in the Background color yields a Large Pinwheel. Piece D in the Background color yields a small Pinwheel. 🥳

      Thanks Jeanie! I hope you give them a try. It actually goes together fairly quickly, and while I made the "A" block all the same, I think the "E" block would make a cute pinwheel if you make those all the same. Merry Christmas!

      Hi Jeanne - to each their own, I guess, and I love that there are so many options to choose from in this great craft. It might have looked alright if I didn't add sashing between the groups of four? Maybe? The extra sashing made it just a bit bigger which would have been a nice bonus. Thanks for watching.

    Really great quilt, it’s always inspirational to see quilters use the supplies I already own. I like the sashing, I think it gives your eye a place to rest. Maybe you could have auditioned a fabric that wasn’t the same as the star fabric. Maybe something in a medium tone. A suggestion for next time. Regardless, your flimsy very nice & will keep someone cozy someday.

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  4 місяці тому

      Hi Diane - different coloured cornerstones would look good, I think - so long as they somehow related to the other colours/fabrics in the quilt to provide a bit of unity. There is so much potential here to explore!

  • @lynnczar2463

    I have these pattern pieces but smaller, I like it best without the sashing because I think that the stars pop on a riot of color. The sashed quilt looks lovely but it’s too structured for me. When I make this quilt it will be without sashing, but I do appreciate your video. Thank you. 18:03

      Hi Lynn - in your earlier comment I thought you meant the sashing between the units to make the stars, but I see what you mean about the sashing in general. I vowed to not add any more quilts to my list until I finish the 20 or so I already have fabric for🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 … but these templates intrigue me.
    If the D is all the same color, I see an interesting pinwheel….also what if you did cut them with the wrong sides together and got mirrored blocks? I want to cut each piece in the same color (A-red, B-blue etc) then twist and turn them and see what pops out😂.
    Dang it🤣. No. I refuse to buy these templates right now😂
