I love how sis has a whole schedule for feeding them and different things too. I love that she cares for these creatures that god gave us because he new they would be a joy for us. On like some people that only feed them kibble their whole lives. They only have one life and I think ppl should try to give them a good life.

When you’re ferrets free roam your room at night, are you not worried they’d chew any cords/wires? Or do they not
My ferret doesn't chew on wires but you just got to figure out what works best for your little ones
I’m pretty sure they have the room their ferrets are in most of the time, ferret proofed
If they do go to Home Depot on buy some wire protectors they have large and small ones

I still have a few questions, when you are feeding mm for example, would you just feed 1 type of mm in a larger quantity or a variety in one sitting, like multiple mm or just 1, also when feeding heart would I have to add something else because I heard that large amounts of heart can be bad for a ferret or if I just feed with a bowl full of heart. Sorry if my questions seem stupid I just want to make sure because I am very new at raw feeding and want to know everything before I actually begin. :) have a good day!

I love these videos I am learning so much! It's almost stressing me out because I feel like I'm not taking care of my babies properly.. My sweet girl peanut is two years old now. How can you afford all of this stuff 😩😩😩 I'm gonna start taking notes and do things little by little but I'm not sure if my lifestyle is equipped for going all in on the raw just yet so I may have to purchase the ziwipeak and start introducing raw food little by little my babies started to love wysong but only the raw chicken diet I knew something was off when I read some of the ingredients and you confirmed it, people like you seriously make a difference in the world, God bless.

wonderful video, it's great to see how much you care about them and want to give them a good diet! i'm kind of concerned though about like your meat handling procedures. it seems like the meat is coming into contact with a lot of different surfaces, including seemingly porous ones (like the scale, the cutting mat, the wooden surface underneath the mat), and the outside of the storage bags. for your sake and your critters' sake, i hope you're disinfecting your equipment afterwards to the best of your ability, and that you'll take measures to try and keep raw meats off of porous surfaces. if you feel like you want to learn more about stuff like this, maybe google stuff like "proper meat handling", or maybe even try to find like a free (online) health & safety class. thanks for listening

Can I keep the meat in the freezer to preserve it and then take it out let it get to the proper temperature and then give it to my ferret? Also loved the vid!!!
when i go on the site you order meat from is the ground meat good? it says it’s a mixture of heart, tripe, liver and kidney, it just seems easier to do because i never fed raw

hey im thinking about getting a ferret and i want to put it on a frakenprey diet but i would like to know the messurments of everything going off of your scheduel, so like in each meal home much RMB you give them, how much egg, how much heart mussels, liver, organ and fish/chicken cause i dont want to over feed, under feed or get it all off by giving too much or too less of something

Do you have any brand recommendations for raw grinds that contain readily mixed and balanced variations on meats, and organs, etc in them? Or would going to the local butcher and asking for grinds (chicken, rabbit, etc) and mixing them together okay? Along with added bones, organs etc from the butchers. I’m in the UK so it’s hard to find good brands in the UK that are 100% raw.

I have two ferrets and would love to switch them to raw! Unfortunately butchering meat makes me super queasy. You have previously mentioned that a method of feeding ferrets is balanced grinds. Is there anywhere that you can recommend that sells pre-balanced//prepared grinds?
I really want to put my ferret on a raw diet, but he won’t even eat egg with his kibble. And I have no clue where to start these videos are helpful but I am still beyond confused, I know how to switch him over I am just worried he will refuse to and I was thinking about commercial grind but Frankenpray sounds like a better route because I know exactly what they are digesting
If he wont eat anything just grind it up with water, its called soup.

Can you not feed them a cooked diet? I had a ferret years ago and fed it the typical dry food and he managed to live a good 6 years. Now I’m thinking of getting another but I wanted to make sure I’m feeding it better this time and I’m a little overwhelmed by the raw diets.

How much roughly should ferrets get. Like grams per ferret I use and 80/10/10 grind then also give pinkies and some chicken neck and feet as an occasional treat they also get eggs once a week I have a pair of ferrets xx
You name it my ferrets get it every raw item of food imaginable . They also get whaiskas kitten food to and alpha or dr johns ferret kibble they also get ferret vitamin paste with extra taurine
PLEASE dont feed paste its really bad for them :(

Does a ferret stay full if they eat all their food in one sitting? Mine sometimes eat all their grinds right away but if I give them more they usually don't eat it and I waste it for their dinner time new fresh meat. Seems like they don't want to eat the grinds if its out for a while and starts to dry. Should I maybe feed more than 2 times a day?

You need to feed 4 different proteins so not just chicken. Like lamb, pork, duck, turkey so on. Bones can be wings necks etc. 3 meals of them a week along with grinds and you need to do a single meal of heart with organs

Would you say raw feeding miami is a good place for quality meat & also financially friendly? Do you have any other recommendations for that? I'd like to get my boys on full raw as soon as I can pay for it myself (my father currently pays for my boys's food) but, it would probably only be a part-time job since I am still a student so not a whole lot of $$ and I'd have to pay for my dogs food & my phone bill as welll. I'm currently just introducing them to random different FDR things from Vital Essentials, (not the cat food, it has the goat milk in it which is obviously a no) like chicken hearts & liver, duck hearts, liver, etc, salmon rings, minnows, rabbit, etc. so they'll be more open to similar things when we switch.

Ok so I have a question.
Would it be bad to own a ferret while being in Middle School?
I go to middle school and of course, when I get home I have 4 hours I could spend with them and in the morning I could let them out. The enclosure i want I can build outside of where they can go outside of the cage and walk around in a big box type of thing. Mostly they would have a huge area to run around in. They will have plenty of safe toys and places to hang out in. The only thing I worry about is being gone for a few hours without any supervision but my grandmas. I will bath the ferret once a month as recommended and walk the ferret 5-10 minutes every other day. I also have a dog I need to take care of in between times. Can I get anyones opinion?
Please don’t bathe your ferret once a month. Once a year only! Ferrets need 6-8+ hours out of the cage everyday.
I had a ferret when I was in middle school. I recomend getting 2 ferrets tho. They are very social creatures and would be best for them to have a playmate while you're at school. They do sleep during the day anyway for the most part. They usually wake dawn and dusk. So during the day they will sleep if you let them out at their most active which would be before and after school for a few hours. And you could also let them free roam over night if you ferret proof your room

Do ferrets need toothpaste?? If so what kind of paste and brush??? do they need shampoo?
emelie morett teeth brushing is really only needed if feeding a pellet diet. shampoo is a no, at least not what youd find on shelves at your local pet store as it will strip their coat of oils. ive read that for a bath if they need it, you put non instant oats in a sock and float it in the tub, warm water not too hot or cold. id suggest reading up on ferrets and baths- but you really should no be bathing your ferret unless absolutely necessary- much like cats

Hi I know I’m sorry of late but I have wanting ferrets for years and hopefully in a few months I will be getting them! I have a few question, does the list that has the raw meals on it change every week or stay the same? And also is it ok to use that diet for my ferrets as I want to feed raw but am not sure on how to balance it properly thank you do much I love your channel and Ferrets. Also this is sort of if topic but I will make sure both of them are desexed so should I get 2 girls, 2 boys or a girl and boy also is this good for their diet 10% RMB, 75% MM, 10% Sacretung organs ( so heart mussels) and 5% Liver. Is that ok and if not what do I have to change? And the schedule is the same as your that’s in another question tho. I will only be getting 2 ferrets so anything out of all of my question what do I have to change/add. thanks heaps love your all!

Hi! For about a year now I’ve really wanted a ferret and was really on the fence about raw and pellet feeding would it be possible to incorporate both? And for eggs would it be better to be served in a separate bowl when raw or is it better to cook them and serve in the same bowl? Sorry for all the questions haha I’m just very curious and want the best for my future ferret, thanks again for all the amazing and educational videos!
I don’t recommend feeding raw and kibble together, it can lead to bacterial overgrowth due to ph levels in the stomach. Not great for ferrets long term. Serve egg in a separate bowl, don’t ever cook anything!

I just rewatched the video and took notes but I was thinking my dad wouldn't really like raw food in the house every week so I was wondering if wysong with raw food as a treat would be a good idea.
I don’t like Wysong, their food is super low quality. I have a whole post on them on my blog. For ferrets, it’s full raw or none at all. Or you risk bacterial overload.

@@northpegasus169 yeah same. It did NOT sit with my ferrets and they could never fully convert to it. For now, I found that blue wilderness kitten food is a better option until I go raw. Their energy super improved and their coats became silky soft after switching to the kitten food. It's an expensive bag of food, I try to fi d it on sale. Target has it the cheapest at $15. Rather than 24 at petstores.
