  • Remco Evenepoel’s Team Just Revealed A SHOCKING TRANSFORMATION
    It is no secret anymore that Remco Evenepoel is going to take his Wolf Pack to the Tour de France this year, and try to win the yellow jersey. Despite pretty much the entire cycling world doubting him and his success after what we’ve seen from him in 2023, his team is claiming they’re making a transformation for grand tours. But can the Wolf Pack shift their identity to fulfill Remco’s bold ambitions? And what will the transformation look like?

    You need to keep Primoz ambitions in mind. This is the last grand tour win he needs to have won all of them once, he left Jumbo for a reason, so only time will tell.

    When you are a Belgian that actually watched the official team presantation in Dutch you realize how full of S thede channels are. SQS and Evenepoel himself clearly stated in their interviews the goal for Remco in the TdF 2024 will be winning stages and not winning the Tour. He would consider a top 10 place as a succes for the general classification as it will be his 1st TdF and it will first and foremost be a learning experience.

    Minutes of spewing doubt, not mentioning they still have a top sprinter in their ranks and misinterpreting the acquisition of a COO, who has been brought on board by Lefevere himself as a possible successor in the future and not as a reaction to the failed Visma merger. And then, at last, after 6:23 the narrator finally admits that Evenepoel has already won a GT, with outstanding watts as well and looking by far the strongest before a small crash made him human again at the end of the second week (which he doesn't mention).
    Also, after that Vuelta in 2022, Evenepoel got on a plane to Australia and won two medals at the Worlds, not unlike his goal this year with the combo Tour + Olympics, which the narrator seems to doubt the feasibility of as well. Difficult to portray a double World Champion, GT winner and double Monument winner, all in the last 2 seasons, more as a chump with unachievable dreams than it's done here.

      Every team already knows Jonas' capabilities however that doesn't mean they can put their ambitions aside and give up, obviously every team going for GC is making preparations for the tour independently of whether or not they work against Jonas.
      It's like stating WVA should give up his ambitions because MVDP has been a better classics rider the past few years.

    I dont see 🇧🇪🚄 winning the TDF he may cop the white jersey. I understand the new direction in which the team is going. shifting focus from the one day races to GT.
    My advice to Remco save your marbles for the last week. Be patient. Don't be quick to show your hand. Stay with the big guys when the time is right and make the move. Don't ride the tour like 20 one day races. I know it's his 1st tour gather as much experience as you can.
    The young 🐺 cub will be going up big guys in the biz
    I am looking to see how well he has matured and how well he can read the race.
    He will have landisimo with him, he has a lot of experience and is committed to help the young 🐺 cub.
    It looks strange seeing the Basque rider in the 🐺 Pack.

    i dont see the shocking part really, this transformation didnt start this week, month or even year. the transformation has already been going on for about 2 years, each year a bit more towards a grand tour team. also his remark that if you dont have good climbers you only have 3 weeks of racing a year is a bit strange. look at MvdPs team, they had quite a bit of success thru out the whole year, including every grand tour (just not for the GC, but they did win the points jersey in all).
    and about the losing its DNA is also weird to say, the only way you could remain being a classics team and sprinter team would have been to let evenepoel go to another team, otherwise it was inevitable from the beginning. but it is way nicer to have a belgium team built around him instead of some arabic or russian team with the big money.

  • @piripero5777
    @piripero5777 5 місяців тому

    I think vuelta 2023 doesn't say much about his tdf potential. It was his 2nd gt of the year. Only Pogačar is able to prepare 2 grand tours in the same season while racing classics as well. Let Remco race 2/3 classics and than be 100% focused on the tour. If nothing bad happens, i think he will surprise the world. Doubts on his climbing ability are legit though. I think his main problems are irregular climbs and consecutive climbs. But first of all, he needs to learn how to stay on his bike. Last year he crashed badly (and a bit awkwardly) during Giro, Vuelta and Lombardia. Maybe he'd lost that races anyways, but still crashes don't help at all.

      If the TDF doesn't have any high steep milty 2000+ meter climb stages. And a long flat TT where Remco can just hammer it.
      Then maybe, a sliver of hope of beating Jonas.
      But this edition? not a chance. Pogacar can drop him in the mountains easy with his explosions.
      Jonas will crack him high in the mountains easy. And honestly i don't see Remco winning any time in the last TT. Given it has a very steep clim and technical descent. I am gonna go Vingegaard. If they can keep him safe on the gravel stage. While rare Visma can be a chaotic mess when shit goes south.

  • @MDP1702
    @MDP1702 4 місяці тому

    SOQ rarely has 2 top sprinters, rather a top sprinter and an upcoming talented one that will eventually replace the current top sprinter. Jakobsen would have left irregardless of Remco. There entire sprinter mentality is to get a cheap young big talent, build him up, win with him and then when he becomes expensive let him go and repeat.
    SOQ is trying to become a multi-discipline team: classics and GT's, just like Visma is and UAE/Ineos are also becoming. Trek does the same, but they don't have one of the strongest GC riders, unless Tao can really compete with the best.

      But come on in the Vuelta he didn't just crack. He imploded on the first decent hill on a big mountain stage.
      I just don't see it this year. With 3 more experience better grand tour riders with big teams supporting them.
      Remco can surely win an TT in TDF. Also if he does not crack he can get 3rd 4th ish i'd suspect.
      A bit more stable mentally a bit better in enduring pain. A bit more experience. Sure like i said he has the potential.

      @@barneyklingenberg4078 Last Vuelta wasn't a good metric, not even close.
      1. It was his 2nd GT of the season, young riders usually perform worse at those.
      2. He had covid only 3 months earlier, we've already seen multiple times that it can linger a bit in the body.
      3. His prepare wasn't even close to great, not even good. His main focus was the WC ITT, due to which he needed to loose several kg in the last 10 days before the Vuelta.
      4. He had been either at a training camp, racing or ill/recovering for most of the year with only 1-2 weeks max on downtime/home, that is also hard mentally.
      I am not going to say he'll win the TdF, but taking last years vuelta as a reason is stupid, especially since he never produced the same climbing performances there as earlier in the season when he wasn't even at climbing weigh yet, clearly showing he wasn't in absolute top shape.
