Asami also mentioned to Korra that her father put her in self defence class since she was little. That's why she's so good at fighting. Overall she's just very talented-like with her driving skills and the way she always seems to look fabulous😅
And I do get what Dee was saying about rather dying then having your bending taken away. As we shouldn't forget that for benders it's not just a power, they're born with it, literally being part of who they are; their mind and body, personality, culture and lifestyle-bending is all ingrained in it. Through it they understand and interact with the world. Losing that may be too much of a shock for some.

The eye colors are absolutely a thing. It's mostly just a trope in the show, not really called out as a real biological trait. Since the time of Aang, the nations have grown closer, and there is far more interbreeding (Mako has gold eyes, Bolin has green), but in general:
Air - Grey
Fire - Gold/yellow
Earth - Green
Water - Blue
Lin losing her bending followed by General Iroh's reveal is the most brilliant thing the writers could have done in this episode. So many emotions at the same time😭🥺❤.

Can I just say, and I feel like it isn’t talked about enough, but Asami is handling the love triangle situation pretty well overall and in all this time she hasn’t said a single bad thing about Korra.
It could have been incredibly easy for her to be mad or passive-agressive towards Korra, especially since they are all 17/18 years old, but she never is.
The blame in this whole situation is on Mako 100%.
In the later seasons Korra and Asami actually become really good friends!
Anyway there’s no hard feelings between them and I think that’s awesome!
Actually Korra and Mako are 50/50 in that situation. Mako obviously because he was in couple but people tend to forget that Korra first was clingy despite him being clearly not interested, then she forced a kiss while she already knew he was in couple. Just... She is even more guilty, she was acting like a creep. Imagine the gender reversed, people wouldn't even blame the girl one second. Asami was probably the best member of the crew in season 1, and the more mature. She deserved way better than that.
@@novastarburst3939I totally agree that Korra was also to blame in the beginning with the kiss and all, but right now I don't think it's 50/50, like Korra has matured a bit already, and told him to be there for asami and all... Mako's the one who should want to save his relationship u know? Like perhaps 70/30 or like 80/20 at this point. Now, season 2 is a diferent story...🤦♀️🤦♀️ But at this point in s1, korra made less mistakes than Mako, and she doesn't have the responsability to not hurt Asamis feelings. Mako's her boyfriend and he's not dumb. He could behave diferently by himself if he truly wanted to make things work with asami in the long run. But yes, Korra did some stuff that would not go unnoticed if she was a guy😅. Asami really was the saint in the middle of all of this😅😅

17:01 I think what Dee said probably alligns with what Lin felt. For Lin bending wasn't an extra power she possessed, it was a part of her identity, of her day to day life, job, etc. She even grew up with a mother who used it as her own eyes... Losing that, for someone like Lin might have felt worse than dying. Dee's the 1st reactor I've watched to ever say that (and I pretty much watched all the reactions to this ep that there are on ytb, ups😅). I just wanted to point that out since they focus more on other traumatic events in this show and kinda leave this moment behind, but like, Lin's sacrifice here was no joke, and the loss she must have felt was something I wouldn't wish to anyone ever.

It’d be interesting to see if blood bending ever get used in the next avatar series. Like what if a bender does a very bad crime like murder, and then as a punishment the law demands that bender’s bending be taken away by a blood bender
In that case, they would have to change the laws, rn bloodbending is forbidden, making it legal to practice in order to use it for good would probably start problems with people learning it for bad stuff again. They'll probably stick to the avatar veredict and use only his/hers energybending to "solve that kind of problems".

I have no idea if Tarloqs assistant is a man or woman but they are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker the guy that voices appa, momo and pabu. He just has a super high vocal range so it’s unclear lmao
In original Avatar Eye color usually indicates what kind of bender you are or at the very least what nation you are from, like the water tribes having exclusively blue eves, and typically seeing non benders having darker eyes like black or brown eyes typically in the earth nation being the biggest. Untill the end of the series the natios never really mixed , Air benders usually have Grey, Water have Blue, Earth Green/Brown, and Fire have Red/Honey colored.
After the time skip in Korra we start the see a more variety in eye colors in benders. We see it the most in Aang's Son Tenzin having his mothers blue eyes and his children more with his oldest Jinora having brown, Ikki having grey like her grandfather Aang, Milo being blue almost grey, and the youngest Rohan having green like his mom.
There is a Theory that Ty Lee from ATLA mighty have been a descendant of Air nomads who didn't have air bending and survived by hiding among the fire and earth nations since she also had grey eyes. She also seemed to love living the nomadic care life when she wasn't being threatened into fighting for the fire nation by Azula.

This season in live action would be top tier, i think it would Work better then atla-la aswell (for LA). With the politics, pro-bending. Seing the police, like Spider-Man in New York type of world would be cool too. The gangs too. With it being a more modern, its easyer to pull af i think.

Hey Avatar Meesh and Avatar Dee how it been. I hope you two day is going well "Happy Wednesday". This was a great episode. My biggest problem is the love triangle stuff. Like I understand Asami being upset with Mako. But right now there's no time argue. You talk about the problem once the Equalist problem is over.
I have to give Lin props for protecting Tenzin family despite her not liking Pema. But for her to sacrifice herself to make sure they don't get their bending taking away. Just shows what an amazing character she truly is. Even tho capture. Her refusal to give them up cost her to have her bending taking away. But it awesome to see Dante Basco back but this time playing General Iroh. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.
