I love Simon Barrett and the red letter episodes he's on are some of my favorite but him of all people should know the golden rule SHOW don't TELL. That scene where she explains her entire plan was so bleehhhh. Great video though guys!
Great review! Two logic things in this film that also bumped me:
1. Trevor says that he killed the girl when he was 12 and moved her body to the bathtub. Am I wrong, or would a 12 year old boy not be strong enough to move a whole body across a long hallway?
2.If Carrie was American, and Charlotte/interloper was British, how did they grow up together? It would've been a fun reveal if she suddenly switched over to an American accent as part of the reveal.

Sorry guys. I discovered your channel recently so I’m catching up on all your reviews. I’m surprised Nick did not mention the 1969 film The House that Screamed (La Residecia). It clearly shares some elements with this film. If you haven’t seen it, please check it out. I believe it’s still available from Scream Factory.

I honestly think they meant for us to believe that Camille was a high schooler. I felt like all the girls looked too old, so I looked up their ages and a lot of them are in their late 20s. As ridiculous as the plot was, I still dug it. The soundtrack was amazing, too.
Yeah…..all the girls looked too old, IMO. The Asian girl looked older than them all, IMO!
Yeah the look too old, just like in most sitcoms in the nineties, when 20-ish people are meant to look like teenagers :D
I peeped from the ballet scene that the main girl wasn't who she said she was. I was like 'Why the hell is the principal going out of her way to mention all the academic record of this one student? Oh, i get it." I didn't like this one at all. for me the supernatural elements and the slasher elements didn't blend in well. I think it would've worked better if they had picked only one of those elements.
Guys, speaking of the age of actresses.
I really doubt it plays any significance in a plot.
The Asian "high schooler" is 45 in real life.
I am assuming this (as well as that Scream wanna reveal and ridicolous killer's motivation) is part of dark comedy/satire side of this movie.
Something like Scream Queens tv series.
But Seance itself didn't feel as over the top, so I couldn't tell that I am 100% sure it's part of a joke ;)
Anyway, for just another mediocre low budget direct to streaming horror flick it was fine.
Not even close to awesome The Guest, or pretty good You're Next.
But just fine :)

I was gonna look up the Asian actress because she looked so much older than them all! Not surprised she’s 45! I wouldn’t have pegged her for 45 but she was definitely older than 25! I thought she was 30!

There was another movie called Seance. I liked that one better and all I remember about it was the ghost of a little girl and her killer and the killer whistled Itsy Bitsy Spider. And it was still better than this. Lol 😂😂😂

It might have been a touching story if they hadnt veered it toward lesbian territory at the end. So many movies do this nowadays its as though people cant just be close friends anymore. I guess bonds of basic friendship are just meaningless in current year.
