I have it from a high level source that Bauer cancelled the Nexus line because they couldn’t stand the way you pronounced the name. Good video, very clear.
Thank you for acknowledging us professional skate fitters. I'd like to debunk another myth. It is not always cheaper to shop online. Many pro shops will match or beat online prices (we do), provide a professional fit, a chance to try them on, baking and sharpening included all for equal or less than online. Shop local and get a pro fit experience. Thanks again for a great video.
Yeah, I'm going to need that vapor vs supreme video. Because beyond graphics, I'm not seeing how each family of skates actually differentiates themselves from eachother.
Beyond marketing why are Vapors considered agile? Why are supremes considered power?
It's the same holder, the same curv composite, the same tongue.
What's the difference beyond the fact that one is yellow and one is red? And with this new fit system why even need 2 separate lines?
The Bauer Vapor are not as stiff as the Bauer supreme and the fit profile is different
Im sure they will have some differences like tongue, eyelets liner etc. Personal preferences which is why i always go full custom
One has Awesomesauceness and the other has Unobtainium.
Both skates are the same from bottom of your foot down. It’s all just window dressing/marketing. Facts are you’re the same player in either skate assuming you get the fit correct 💪🏒😎
Vapor has the flashy colors, but I believe currently about 2/3 of players use the Supreme line, now the can have cake and eat.
more in depth about the supreme vs. vapor would be much appreciated
i know this is an old video but man this makes me so happy. i remember getting a pair of apx 2 skates during my bantam aa season and i would wheel in them better than any other skate i had but they would absolutely kill my feet, i had to take them off every practice or game i had and eventually got rid of them. i've been rocking true's or formerly VH skates for around 5 years, about to get new skates and excited to see what i fit in.
I recently picked up a pair of the Supreme Fit 2. It's a world of difference from my old skates. I couldn't be happier.
I know this is a little late on me posting this but excellent job on breaking down the difference in fit on this new system A++++ THANK YOU!!
I'll get fitted when the time comes but thank you Jesus I get to go back to wearing supremes. Vapors are nice but I actually just like the construction and style of a supreme.
Side note I really hope that they don't discontinue the Nexus sticks though
Nexus sticks are extremely popular, no time soon
But what if you have wide feet and also low volume? It was good being able to get a EE sizing in a vapor, but now if I want something wide it's going to be high volume and the rest of my foot won't fit properly?
Great video, I have always worn Bauer skates, but they have never fit perfectly due to my narrow, boney feet, not to mention my bunion on the left foot! Ha ha. No, I’m not a pro player or even a upper level hockey player, but, I want that ‘perfect fit’ skate. This sounds like its the closest thing to having a Bauer rep come out and take a mold of your foot, then taking that to the factory and making a custom skate exactly to my foot. I’m anxious to see this at my local pro shop!
Please do the differences between the two families I have been a vapor fit all of my life but I have a supreme style of play this is great but I want to know the differences as I have only paid attention to the technology in the vapors and not the different families of skates and that video would be a great help.
So they went from 9 fits (because 3 basic widths that could be further tuned with d, e, ee) to just 3 fits?
Yes its less choice.
thats my number one concern too
Exactly, I'm a ee vapor. Looks like neither of these will fit me...
Thanks, best video ever explaining to FIT system.
Do a video in the features of the 2xs and the ultrasonics pleaaase
Well they need a fit 2.5 cause I have wide feet but needed little less room around ankle, ended up with type 3, no heal slippage but could be a little tighter
This vapor look reminds me of Apx and apx2 models , best skates ever
Cool!! 😃👍👍👍
I want to have as much as possible information about Supreme 2S Pro vs. Ultra Sonic and the new Vapor line vs. Ultra Sonic.
I'm looking forward to see your comparison(s). 😎😉
Love to see the breakdown between vapo r and supreme
It’s live! Link in bio and video is on our channel
I agree, I need the video on the different features between the two lines as well
It’s live ! Check the channel
Sorry I spoke too soon, just watched it ... any idea on Vapor release date?
in the hunt for new skates this really helped! cheers
You guys should a series on tendys
Very nice, I have an EE nexus, now I can ware vapor, but still we need this applies on Bauer inline as well for summer, specially those Bauer inline fit.
gottasee that vapour vs supreme vid
Uploading now
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial glad to hear!
Love to se a video on the Vapor and Supreme features that will help me as I’m in need of new skates. The 3D scan say Vapor 8D but I like the feel from the supreme with speed plates more when playing.
Damn those Vapor's look so slick. For someone who is about to invest in some new skates, i'm very excited about all these options. Thanks for sharing this in depth video!!
Terry's Twig Reviews I wish the other vapors looked like these. The 2.7s and lower are horrendous in my opinion.
So they have just made it harder to buy skates online.
Not really, 70% of people need a FIT 2.
Nicholas G why does it cost nearly 1,000 dollars for skates?
@@liammooney8780 greed.
Nicholas G yup, yet they “want to make the game more diverse and accessible to all”. It’s honestly sick
I got wide feet but I'll only wear vapors this sounds like a plus even tho I just bought new skates like a month ago 😭😭
This is pretty exciting dude! I was about to cry when you said bye bye nexus because that’s my only choice with stupid flat/wide feet. I’m excited to possibly get a Supreme now or at least have choices!
Same
Thanks Chris!
I love ccm gear but bauer skates are something special. Best skate manufacturer out there.
Great video. Would like more detail between the differences
Make that video. Interested to see the features of each.
I hope this becomes the industry normal! Never liked the idea that I could not choose the line I wanted because they wouldn't fit.
Great video, wondering about weight of both skates and how they compare with CCM FT2, True, etc
looks so nice but iam broke and I bought the 1x a couple years ago... imho the best skates bauer has made
Chris that was awesome info, as I am planning to get the Supreme Ultrasonic. Please do anther vid on the Vapor and Supreme. Thanks
This is cool but does those of us in small hockey towns without a decent skate shop absolutely no good since were still relegated to buying offline. I will say that I typically wear a D width tennis shoe and I assumed that the supremes (under the old volume system) followed along those lines but it sounds like I might have been better off with a vapor under the old system. I may be a fit 1 kind of person but again, no decent skate shop with 2.5 hour drive from me lol so I guess I may never know.
It looks like the sonics have gone back to metal eyelets unlike 2s pro . May have to look at vapours in wider width now .
Oh. I love the injected facing on the 2s pro.
You should make a video about the new super tacks as3 pro skates vs the new supreme ultra sonics
What are the retail prices of all the new Bauer supreme skates?
please do a video between the differences of the 2s pro and the ultrasonics
Let’s see the comparison video
If you could also maybe initiate a re-open of all rinks like tomorrow. That’d be great. Thank you @hockeytutorial
Hey Chris and the Hockey Tutorial Team! Please do the comparison video
Greetings from Germany
How do I know if I’m more nimble or have a longer stride?
definitely want to know comparison between vapor and supreme. how do these new fits relate to the baking process of fitting?
Vapor vs Supreme features video please and thank you
Terrific Job C Man!
Please do a new Supreme vs. Vapor video
Your vids help me a lot
to get to a hockey store i have to fly to manchester then drive to sheffeild smh it’s about time someone starts a hockey store in ireland
True
Hope they bring custom colours in, nexus we’re always the best looking with them being blue
They are, so far besides gold I've seen green, black and red may be more
TheRuz23 green and black looks so sexy 👌🏼
TheRuz23 this makes me happy, I’m not likely to wear Bauer, ever since I switched to CCM I’ve been able to skate better and they just feel better for me, but for me there’s too much gold on them and other colours could both look better and maybe give other companies a reason to allow custom coloured skates
I want to see a video comparing vapor and supreme.
So... Other than construction, a vapor fit 1 will feel identical to Supreme fit 1? If that's true, it's not really any better per se. They went from 3 skates in 2 different widths to just 3 fits that can look two different ways. I think I'll be keeping my True's...
I think this new system is greatly overstated. It allows players to pick the skate model they want but you still are extremely limited in the size options. What if you have a really wide, high volume foot but you also have a really flat arch?? It'd be nice to have the volume and width of the nexus with the flat arch of the vapor skates but we can't do that. We will have to compromise fit again.
Without going full custom, Bauer could allow for players to choose arch, volume and width separately then it would be cool but this just reminds me of the new fit system in their goalie pads which did absolutely nothing but confuse new buyers who didn't know say a large was just a 35" pad or a say a small was a 33"....
Let’s hope there is hockey again soon or even in the fall!
Great video and a tone of great info!! Very exciting news!!! Now I wish I didn’t buy skates 6 months ago lol
Did you get your hands on the Bauer Supreme Ultrasonic stick yet if you did can you do a review on it?
I want Fit 3’s width but I want fit 2’s volume, what should I get?
Features video would be great
Anyone reading this isn’t first
LoL
what is your usual skate type and size?
The supreme fit so perfect around my feet but I had the tongue bite. Nexus had so much room by the toes which bothers me a lot. I’m hoping the supreme tongue get better for me feet in the future
make a video describing the differences!
I’ve never seen anyone ever wearing the Nexus line so I’m thinking it was discontinued because of poor sales. Now fit will be the same between Vapor and Supreme, you’re simply picking the one you feel looks better now. Makes sense I guess.
Do the comparison thing
Can you do a comparison between these and the ccm AS3 Pro?
I wonder if these new fits will be only for the top spectrum of skates like 2x pro and ultrasonic cause i would like to get a pair of vapor x2.9's with the new fit system
Hi. I’m looking into getting new high end skates. With the new way they fit now. Do they need to be baked? The last pare I had was about 4 years or longer ago and they were VERY stiff and I never really broke them in
CCM drops a new helmet this Friday. Hope to get a video drop about it.
If you're talking about the 910, it was delayed until late June
@@Licensedbeast Well they are revealing it Friday. That's what they said on their insta.
@@ryanhutch12 The 910
I’ll stick with my new Supreme 1S pro stocks that are very similar to the One 95/ Total One skates.
The new supreme looks like it' s changed it' lace pattern. It looks more gradual like the ccm.
When will this fitting system be introduced in the stores?
So the supreme and vapor is just based on what type of player you are the skate width doesn’t matter because you can get the same width on both skates?
I have a Bauer Viper X:60 fit 2. They feel narrow, will baking help?
Are the new goalie skates going to have the same fit type?
Hello, I have a question : How can we determine what fix is the best for us ? I usually supreme D (had pain for some months now it's fine) Thanks a lot
Do you still have to bake them to get a good fit?
As someone who wears a size 15 skate I hope them limiting these lines will bring back bigger sizes without going custom
That will not happen
so I should of waited for my custom skates size 16 4E only got them at the start of the year
In the UK you’ll be lucky !
I'm pretty pessimistic about all this. I wear Supreme line in EE width. I've worn Nexus D, and Nexus D fit is not as good as Supreme EE. It sounds like the choices are now Vapor D, Supreme D, and Nexus D (fit 1, 2, and 3). I mean, I'll give them a chance, but I might have to go with another brand because custom skates are still a last line. (Maybe I'll get another pair of Supreme EE as back up instead of worrying about my next skates in the future).
Do you think CCM will do this? I have the FT2
Will nexus sticks still be made though?
But i like the blue on the nexus
Those skates are kinda filth imma need to get those greasy wheels
So will fit 1 be more narrow and shallow than a d fit? Will be finally be able to get a narrow skate in either model?
i mean they always could have done this... it just costs more money because now each line will eventually have different fit profiles and they will have to make a shit load more skates. unless they started becoming made to order or something
Vapor vs Supreme comparison 👍
is the new ultrasonic supreme a 1 piece boot?
Did they come out with a size 13 or 14?
Just got some vapor x2.9, and coming from the supreme line, I noticed the heel pocket is much more shallow. What are the benefits of this?
I think that is cool but the problem is that i'm from Sevilla Spain and the nearest shop that i could try all of those os 1000 kilometers from me so how i could doit? And also do you know if they are going to do the same for roller hockey?? Because y play roller and i fell that theres not much choices un roller if you want something good
actually the fit system is worse. Bauer is cutting cost and wrapped this with marketing. Previously you have three families, each with D and EE fit. (In the past, they even had D, E and EE!) That makes a combination of 6 fits rather than just 3. Just imagine if you have a wide feet but low instep, you will be stuck in fit 3 that has massive volume.
i have Nixus skates in EE since im pretty tall and heavy and im so glad i bought them because they fit me and im supersitcius with my skates .
So as supreme chose me in the past now the vapor can have a piece??? This makes more sense now and yeah why should a skate dictate what you wear......I think maybe other brands need to have a 🤔 lower the custom price or get on the same train but at least we know why Bauer hadn’t released a one piece boot as they were working on this ..
I have been having a problem with what skates i should use, im a pretty fast skater who sits very deep. Ive had bauerskates a few years ago but i have been skating on graf lately because it makes you sit deeper on the ice because of the edge of the skate. Do you think bauer will have this feature as well to make you skate deeper instead of having straight legs ( imo) ?
Yes! I'll finally be able to get a boot with the flex tendon guard that fits my foot! Bye Bye Vapor!
I prefer True’s fit system, best fitting skates I’ve ever worn
Chris, do you potentially see this new 3 fit system being a problem for retailers? I just feel like having them carry 3 different fits for the same size skate could create potential inventory issues/risks, especially if the majority of people fit into fit 1 and 2.
By creating the new fit system and removing the Nexus skate, it has actually reduced the number of lines a retailer has to carry
@@PuckStopUK that's true. But now they just have to carry more versions of the same skates.
