- To celebrate surpassing 2000 and then very quickly after, 2500 subscribers on my channel, I am sharing my horror short film here! Please like and comment, I would love for this to reach as many people as possible. We worked on this so hard, and I believe it deserves a lot of love!
At 10,000 subscribers I will release my next short film!
Uncontrol was shot in Houston, TX in October 2020 after a very successful crowdfunding campaign on Seed & Spark. We are grateful for the relatively successful festival run it had in 2021, despite the pandemic.
I am beyond excited to share this short film with my newfound audience here on UA-cam. This is the first short film I ever did and I'm still incredibly proud of it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and ask my anything - I can actually tell you all about this production! I am planning on recording a BTS/deconstruction of my own short film too, and that will come soon, too!

Anxiety can trap us physically and psychologically. The door with its many locks and the safety of her room and rituals cannot provide protection form it. Very interesting. New sub from a REN fan
You really understood the story! Thanks for watching!
Oooh! As a filmmaker, I love she keeps going back to the door like she's desperate to keep something out, but that something is part of her, so she can't lock it away! Thanks for the video! Dropping you a like!!
So glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much!
Very cool, this reminds me a little of like CreepShow Horror Shorts. Good execution!
Have you considered trying a "one take" style video? Understandable why you might not given the complexity in such things and stress on all parties involved to get everything right all the way through... Seems like it might be super cool if it was pulled off though. The impact of a one take is different than a film with cuts... :)
Super cool video, intriguing, captivating, and didn't disappoint at the end.
Bravo!!! Loved it! Hope to see more of your work in the future😊
Thanks so much!
I liked that quite a bit! Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!!
Aww... This is interesting, I want a full-length
Ah, I am working on my first full feature... More coming soon hopefully!
Wow, that was really good! I guessed you were talented, but it was still better than I expected. Very interesting and compelling choice of camera usage and editing, with an excellent soundtrack. Even though it didn't have a huge story arc, I stayed engaged the entire time and wanted it to go on longer!
Thanks so much!! ^_^
That's a nice one. Thanks for sharing. 😃❤
Thanks so much!
That was brilliant!! Delightfully creepy! I want to know what happened to her. When can we expect part II?
@@dougel4709 oh, thank you Doug! Uncontrol is basically serving as a proof of concept for my feature film, which is similar in that it's a psychological horror, about a woman suffering from a mental disease in isolation.
I enjoyed that, it was interesting to see how her OCD about the locks was what was going to be her nemesis at the end!
I wonder if there might be either a Prequel or a Sequel to it?
So glad you enjoyed it!! :D I am working on my first feature film which - while not directly related to this story - is sort of in my same kind of cinematic universe of women experiencing very severe psychological issues in isolation, which imo is one of the scariest things in the world, when you can't trust your brain and you have no one around you to help you or tell you that your brain is playing tricks on you. Wrote the script in 2020, and have been working on bringing it to life but Hollywood is fickle, what with the strikes, impact of AI, loss of jobs, and just some historical, traditional barriers to entry/to financing- it's been pretty wild. But I have a lot of passion for this movie and I hope we'll be able to bring it to life regardless - I have faith we will, we have such an amazing team, among which actually a pretty famous metal frontman who will be composing the score for us *ssssshhh*. This channel is part of that journey - by increasing my visibility and engaging with people, I hope it will propel the film forward as well!
Fine work! Chat got disabled too quickly!
I know - I was bummed haha! Thanks so much for joining and watching the short, I appreciate it! :D Hope you are well, Craig!
@@manondereeper You as well, Manon. I love your shooting style!
@@craigbolton5093 Thanks so very much, I really appreciate it!! I am so proud of this short :)
Like it ❤
Captivating!
Thanks so much!! \o/
I love how you've cast the woman's OCD as the "villain" that manifests at first as an almost benign knocking, and when no one is there at the door, you can imagine she starts to question her sanity... finally the demon that can't simply be locked out with bolts or anthing
Yes, you got it exactly! Thank you so much!
Well that was intense! 🙂
Well yes, of course! ^_^ Thanks for watching!
Your movie csptured tbe horror and dedperstion of the eomans OCD and agoraphobia. Your film was short in lrngth, but long in emotion and detail Bravo!.
Thank you!!
It's like she's doing a spell with the door locks, past the point of control. And the spell misfired.
Ha!! I love this!
