I know there was an old superstition about not having more than one door open at a time, but I hadn't seen one about doors being partially open. I would assume it's because a closed door is protection, an open door is an opportunity, but a partially open door is a mystery - an opportunity for the unseen to enter...?
well, it's still open in the end so probably the same as the door being open fully
This is all true, but a partially open door us is a mystery, but it doesn't have to be dark or negative. She was pulled into some negativity or darkness with the spirit taking her with him. If it was positive aka maybe a light color shown or just lightness instead of darkness she was being pulled into I'm willing to bet whatever she experienced next would have been positive had she had seen lightness if that makes sense. The fact that she was pulled into darkness says she and her uncle still haven't reconciled whatever happened to her family. I'm assuming her parents died in a fire or something considering the burnt photograph and only she survived. It's difficult to stay positive after something traumatic happens to your family and this is coming from someone who has been through traumatic family events too.The doors are metaphors for self-protection, confronting challenges, facing fears, becoming encompassed by them, new beginnings etc. Idk if this is what the writer of this was going for, but this is my interpretation.

As an observer, I kept screaming, "SHUT THE DOOR!" If I was actually there, I would be OUT the door & on my way back home with a new fear of AJAR DOORS!!!

Has anyone considered that it’s her uncle that kills her? The blue man is symbolic. He has demons and can’t help himself so he tells her to close the doors. In the end it is he who kills her.

Damn, Uncle Paul's monologue was what sold it for me. They're both great really. Definitely want to look up what else they've been in.
The actress in this one is amazing- she carries such a believable and wide array of complex emotions on her face, with very subtle expression changes.
That's seriously cool. Respect to whoever it was.

This was excellent, I really enjoyed it. I found it to be really unique and the two actors portrayed their roles very well. I've watched a lot of short horror films, and this one was certainly entertaining. It kept you really guessing too. At first, I thought her uncle had OCD but then I said to myself "Well then they wouldn't have titled this film The Door, so there must be a good reason for it." It really kept me intrigued though and I kept wondering what exactly does happen if you left a door half open or half shut, strange but I'm sure I will see soon enough. The ending was unfortunate and very creepy. Great job! Thank you for sharing your story and I look forward to seeing more of your future projects.

Great professional production, great acting, interesting plot, very good horror. 10 seconds of substance at the very end, to wrap it all up with a pretty bow, wouldn't hurt though 😉. Very good. I greatly enjoyed it. Love the cabin.

Imagine you're sitting on the toilet, scrolling through TikTok, when you realize you're out of toilet paper. Suddenly, from the barely open bathroom door a pale blue hand reaches out bringing you a paper roll, but you know you're too far to take it. From your mouth comes a guttural, almost animal-like, scream and the hand recoils in fear, dropping the valuable roll on the floor. A stab of agony pierces your heart as you try to cope with the fact you'll never leave the cold and lonely toilet bowl.

Very interesting concept. Kudos to everyone involved. The atmosphere was perfect. Great camera work and lighting. The acting was spot on, the score set the tone. Overall it was a great production from script to post.

There are hundreds of scenes in horror moviess that focus on a door. You know when something is about to happen because a door comes into focus.
Next time when someone asks you why you need to keep the door closed don't give a vague answer in a jokey way... especially if you're living in a demon house

I've always had a problem with sleeping in a bedroom with the door open even a little, I always felt uncomfortable, which made this even more creepy to me! Good film!

Excelente. Este cortometraje de aparente simpleza aprovecha muy bien sus recursos y cumple muy bien con lo que un cuento de terror debe hacer: Apuntar a los miedos internos. Toda persona que posee un TOC cree que si deja de hacer aquello que le obsesiona puede ocurrir algo terrible, pues bien, muchas personas poseemos esas creencias y aquí los miedos se vuelven reales. Además esta es una historia totalmente abierta y se expande más allá de los 12 minutos que dura el cortometraje. Muy bueno el concepto de la entidad que aparece detrás de la puerta, no hay maquillaje de sangre , ni máscaras, ni rostros deformes, al contrario, es un hombre que en lugar de tener un rostro malévolo tiene un rostro limpio pero con una expresión que parece ser de desesperación o sufrimiento terrible. Le idea de presentarlo desprovisto de color también es muy interesante como también el detalle de la marca o herida en sus manos. Por otra parte el nivel de actuación es excelente. Qué más se puede pedir?…. solo disfrutar (o sufrir) con el video. Todos los premios que ha ganado están muy bien otorgados.
