This took way longer than anticipated to release as we went for the Festival Circuit, but here it is! In all its Award-Losing glory. Hope you enjoy it!! - Фільми й анімація
I'm still wondering how that arm replaced that pipe.
+EchoWatching science bitch.... :D
Bones are hollow because they are normally filled with marrow.
"If it fits I sits": space edition
Bone is an conductor
echo.......it was a structural pipe ...not for carrying fluids
Under this helmet is Mr.Bean.
волк i thought that too
I was gunna say that lol
+Jimbloy Crevser it is our all mighty lord genervuh.
+xxXpussy-hunter69Xxx it john cena
I was thinking that too
THATS WHY MY SOCKS GO MISSING .....EXPLAINS EVERYTHING
6:45 I can already imagine the scream after he lost his good arm
A series based on this would be stellar.
The part with the street performer is the best.
My favorite is when he just takes the ring from the proposal.
This should totally be a mini series

Amazing! Such a fun story!
Yep
I agree
TOM TOM TOM AHHHH TOM
Cool funny to
Tom
Man, you're on a roll and it looks delicious.
A sweet roll :3
Let me guess: someone stole your sweet roll!
I used to make puns like you, then I took an arrow to the knee
MGTA88studios I used to, but then someone stole my arrow.
PHoToS999 MGTA88studios
I used to, I still do, but I used to, too.
the ship has an oddly familiar shape
it reminded me of the walking machine from Interstellar
Me 2
It reminds me of the bureaucrat aliens (forgot the name) ships in hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
Vogons. Also, our lad in this film seems to have a very similar attitude to the universe as them :D
It's a low tech, early generation TARDIS. Back when the Time Lords were simpletons...as well as self-centered assholes.
OMG, that was so funny! The wedding ring bit, and how proud of himself he was when he installed it. Great work!
When I first saw the ship fly past and it say time trap I got a very heavy guardians of the galaxy vibe from it
+awesomo660 I had the same feeling. Seemed to be so similar
+awesomo660 I was thinking the exact same thing!
i need your attention
same
+awesomo660 That's the shittiest thing you could have said.
This was awesome it's like Mr Bean with time travel powers
I thought the same lol.
and being an Aussie.
="D
Well put and like Mr Bean, no thought for other people lol
EXACTLY!
The alien Jim's Mowing logo on the ship is what makes this
He died before he could finish his sentence
The nice thing about it, is that it bypasses language barriers. Being like Shuan the Sheep.
This NEEDS to be a series
So that guy lost his arm? o.o
+GregYong it was righty too... rip.
+GregYong No, the arm lost its guy.
+GregYong Sucks to be him....
+Smexyy Sounds so like half his arm was suddenly a noodle
+GregYong No.
That was pretty freaking cool.
TheGreenerItGets yea
Ño
The way the ship landed was golden. I love how light-hearted and subtly adorable this short film was!
screw JJAbrams - next SW Episode I want Michael Shanks
Just something to transport the energy from the ring. I guess bones work in the future?
Not gonna happen with a black storm trooper!
ForceOfWizardry- Why is that?
You already got it...Gareth Edwards is doing the next one.
This is one of those things that need to be made into a feature length movie
+Ivan Golochtchekov Хьюстон - полёт нормальный =)
The opening reminds me of the guardians of the galaxy
I'm from 2019 traveled back to 2014 to give like to this video. I love it.
Here's a like from 2020. And sorry to tell you, this is the best 2020 can offer.
This is by far the best short film I have ever seen on UA-cam. LOVED it.
wat bout the sync series?
+tupe felipio It was released in episodes. But there's an hour-long video that's all of the episodes combined seamlessly.
+tupe felipio You're welcome.
+MajorInkPeoples look up a short story called 'The Ellington Kid' Far better than this, even though this is ok but that is wayyyyyy better
how on earth was that better?
It's quite unique and has character. I chuckled often and never was bored.
Your timing for the slapstick stuff is absolutely impeccable. I laughed and smiled the whole way through.
The main character's an asshole, but in a funny way XD
He seems pretty stupid too, but also in a fun way xD
The helmet doesn't help him to look smart either xD!
Rodrigo Opazo Aniotz Neither does his space ship XD
he is a lazy ass person.
HAHA
More fun than most films at TV
That concept was very unique and very, very cool! It was funny as hell too, great job!
Not unique. The Time Travel Tube device and time porthole is from the novel 'Ghost Country' by Patrick Lee. This video is like watching portions of the book.
Would be a very interesting game concept
Michael Shanks has a twisted mind & sense of humor. LOVE IT!!!!
Fripp's Archeology:
Why dig, when you can Time Travel.
I loved this one it was amazing! 😂😂😂
Good to see a short sci-fi story that doesn't take itself too seriously. In some ways, it really does look like a futuristic episode of Mr. Bean
Guy puts this much effort in to one hell of a video and Pewdiepie remains the most subscribed channel. Oh humanity.
Five years after this was released.. still coming back for a chuckle or two. Would love to see something larger based off of this. It's got character, jokes, twists - all the things you love to see. Keep up the good work!
Very compelling and so great that the story is told beyond word making it applicable to everyone regardless of the language you speak. Fantastic.
this is a masterpiece ...we need a full movie of this now ....pleaseeeeeeee
Ha, slapped that hippie's didgeridoo down, just because.
This would make a great video game concept.
Even he knows that's cultural appropriation and it's not cool
***** Cultural Appropriation? Go back to tumblr.
Didn't "Singularity" have this premise?
It pretty much already is; the 'tears' in Bioshock Infinite.
I thought the same thing. A great point and click adventure.
What goes on in the mind of the makers of such a brilliant movie? This so freaking cool!
what if the dude went back in time when doing that time trap thingy and he was the one that caused the world to end by causing like butterfly affects from getting stuff to repair his space ship and its like a infinite loop thing... that would be crazy but this was crazier it was awesome! Subbed!
Yeah, that's where I expected things to go, but nope. :)
Don't take it so seriously
So cool, this concept needs to be a feature-length film.
This short is packed with personality, something so many of its peers fail to achieve. It puts a simple, playful spin on time travel, a plot device that many shorts tend to overcomplicate for the sake of coming across as 'cerebral'. The plot is engaging and easy to follow, mainly because of Fripp's natural charisma and the expressive responses his helmet has to things in his environment. Time Trap doesn't put a single foot wrong in its journey from start to finish, wastes no time and is a genuine pleasure to watch.
That was excellent, totally enjoyable, thanks for posting.
Is no one gonna talk about what happened to his hand in that man's own universe/period of time?
Dr. Jackson makes good Sci-Fi
Indeed
I thought it must be a different Michael Shanks. But apparently not. Great job.
EDIT: Apparently, from other comments, he is a different MS.
@@duckduckgoismuchbetter Aussie Michael Shanks.
Seems to be a different Michael Shanks according to IMDB: www.imdb.com/name/nm5479260/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2
Honestly, everything in this film was great. I was really impressed with the combination of the cinematography and the visual effects. Much respect, I can really see all the effort that went into this film.
If this short dies, it should be easy to recreate another. Micheal Shanks made an entire career playing characters that die and come back over and over again.
6:00 😂😂😂lol
so entertaining 😂😁
I love the Fripps Archeology sign like Jims mowing LMAO brilliant!
*That poor guy lost his bloody arm*... lol great video Tim
At last something refreshing!!!! Most of the sci-fi shorts are about dystopian future or cope with depressing stories! That short gave me good laughs, and this totally different approach - a sci fi short based on humor - really made an enjoyable kick-out. Nice FXs, and photography, taking the idea of time travelling to funny domains!
I laughed all the way through! Genius!
The best stories are the one that can be told without someone narrating it all out to the audience... Nice short film!
lol so does that mean that the dad lost his arm or something XD
I think so...
But, just imagine the repercussions that rippled through the Earth because of that happening in the "past" lqtm. Crazy.
Aaron Knee
Little did he know that the apocalyptic disaster that ravaged Earth was caused by the one armed man and the guy whose engagement he ruined.
This was a Star Trek Voyager episode, albeit a lackluster one.
I loved the futuristic feel and humor in this short movie
The people who made this are Legends!
Dude that was awesome! Clearly that fellow has no trouble thinking 4-dimensionally. Though it begs the question why when the guy had his hand around his throat it took the form of a skeleton. Apparently the alien can change his position 4-dimensionally but not anyone else. Twas interesting though. I liked it.
Demogorgon47 I think the guy's arm was OK in the guy's time, but in the time of the spaceship's crash it was a skeleton only.
Rick Gauger Yes but he's being pulled into the new temporal space along with the guy from the future. It means he would have time travelled with him. Or at least that's what one normally would expect. Apparently in this vid time travel only works for the one with the device and he can't bring anyone back with him. Since no one can actually time travel yet we don't really know what would happen.
Demogorgon47
That makes sense. What a great video this is. I showed it to everybody I know.
Pearlz The Peach But the guy *was pulled into the future WITH HIM*. And why isn't the reverse true? If the guy is pulled through loses his arm then why wouldn't the guy activating the time bubble be disintegrated into pre-existence?
Pearlz The Peach Of course! It's all so simple! Lols :P
Brillant !
How awesome is this. It starts, has a story, it is funny and it has an ending. So many leave you hanging at that stinks.
The concept, music and sound effects are fantastic.
Greetings and salutations, children of teh internetz! T'is me, Gregory aka The Meme God aka Le Enlightened Spork King
Today I come to thee to bring a great knowledge and hope, hope that will ravish through the ages and become akin to the phony teachings of Jesus. This hope will enlighten all and help them become one with their surroundings.
Have a nice day.
Gregory Elon Sagan, classy in exterior, enlightened in posterior.
just stop dude
Man, what happened to my Hide Fedora extension? Stupid Firefox update killed it.
pntrbob
Oh, there it is. Ahhhh, the sweet silence of a troll-less environment.
8leah19
I just downvote them when I see them, but so many idiots upvote them..
pntrbob I tried installing it but it said Interpol wanted $100? :(
Michael Shanks like "Stargate" Michael Shanks?
+ViewerMrFriendly Nope... facebook.com/timtimfed/timeline
+ViewerMrFriendly That was my first thought, too!
This should be a movie!
Well done mr. Jackson and all of you who made this, emjoyed all of it.
This was awesome!
thx for sharing it on twitter ! :)
What are YOU doing here! :O you dont have time for seeing this, new Bonus rounds needs to be put out!
Love this.
This is the best short film I think I've ever seen. Hilarious. I haven't had feelings like these since I read the hitch hikers trilogy. More of this stuff please.
Absolutely the best! I want to see more of this story RIGHT NOW!!
6:00 All of my yes. I laughed so hard I had to rewind the film after to know what happened.
mutilator97 the poor dude :c
Love the Jim's Mowing reference on the side of the ship
This is hilarious, I wish it was a series.
I laughed so hard on the part where the guy propose and the robot guy just stole it. talk about killing the moment.
As a future asternot I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your video game. I would like to take this moment to announce that President Obama is sending asternots to Mars and I have started a petition on reddit to be among them. Please take a moment to sign my petition and I will honorably represent YOU in space!
Love, Barnaby
That was so freaking awesome!
Guy went back in time not only to fix his ship, but also to be a savage.
2:54 even when the world is gone, people still need a good old lawn mowing from Jim
Great work, brilliant plot and effective use of music to bring the characters alive. Michael, from one filmmaker to another, keep doing what you do, brother. The world is your oyster, all the best.
Nothing like jury rigging a skeleton to fix your space ship.
loved it Michael, this needs a sequel!
Fantastic! I would kill to animate like this!
How about just practise? No jail time, just hard work?
Tenebrousable the system to do this would cost a shit ton tho, but I guess working hard to save up also is what you said
Oh man this is fantastic. Deliciously twisted, witty, and so well done. I'm so glad I subscribed to you.
Pretty cool! I like the idea of stealing items through time.
Then I got an ad for:
“The rocket equation, it’s a beautiful thing”
Brilliant, Well Done !
Who else realized that he landed in Post Apocalyptic Sydney Australia ?
Well, the Opera House was a giveaway ;)
I saw the ruins of the Sydney Harbor bridge (or whatever it is called) - but what gave it away was the typical 'Australian sense of humor' thing, and also the complete lack of spoken words, a classic Australian film characteristic... at times. (- Or course Australians talk in their films! But somehow.... not a lot.)
For the ones that think he lost his arm or his bones, he not lost anything. The arm bones in the future ARE the bones of the future, his bones of the past remain with him.
+gio rohart *mind blown*
***** No, if he lost his arm in the past the arm will no exist in the future. If what he has grabbed is his present arm, it will have flesh, not just bones. He has grabbed the arm "buried" in the future.
So this means that that guy had to stay on that spot till he died, he couldn't move his arm away.
@@farpsy I think you could also assume that the arm was transported instantaneously from the past to the future. The trip burnt off the skin/muscles.
I didnt know they had that version of the grabbing toy. That past must be my future.
This is the best thing I've seen on UA-cam in a while!
This would make a really cool full length story. I know Netflix made a movie called Time trap but is wasn't the best but it had potential.
WOW. That was fascinating. Great concept and an intriguing mcguffin to drive the whole thing. I liked the CG work and how it interacted with the protagonist.
Just all around an excellent piece of work. Kudos!
awesome film
that was a really cool film! I loved the part where he knocked the instrument out of that one guys hands, that was funny! really well done with well timed humor!
I am so happy I took the time to watch this. You all deserve a great Round of Applause. It's obvious that you worked really hard on this. I love the fact that even without dialogue it tells the story in a extremely witty, intelligent way. I promise to show this to others. Now you have to promise to keep up the good work and make more :-)
as a project in class years ago me and two other dudes created a game (concept) so similar to this its crazy. i loved this video. earlier today i was showing my brother the trailer.
Ha, I felt this idea would work so well as a game.. a lot of work, though.
Jari Komppa yes but it would be so good. would take several maps running at once, with overlaps where the timefaults (timetraps) were set. probability of temporal anomoly creatures (tacs, the incarnations of people and creatures whos existences you erased accidentally - or on purpose, twisted by reality unraveling) leaking into the game grew as you took action to set the crumbling time continuum right, eventually culminating in the main antagonist being generated into the game, the antithesis of the protagonist (sargeant ix) so many weapons, from stone clubs to plasma grenades, and opportunity for anachronistic fun. would be cool!
DazmoTube Have you played Braid? It plays a lot with time, although the concept is a lot different than Time Traps.
DazmoTube Yeah, be like an adventure game where you have to find these rips in time by how the environment looks or the people and creatures will be the abnormalities.... This sounds splendiferous~! Someone fund this!
DazmoTube For a second there I almost thought you were one of the developers of Void.
lmao that was great! i'd love to see more! :D
Sup DooM
Utterly brilliant, and brilliantly charming. Loved every second.
This was funny, adorable and just an absolutely great watch. Cinematically good, color scheme was pleasing, and the overall feel of the short was good. This was such an amazing short, I just loved it!
i had an idea similar to that time trap thing a few years ago such a cool concept!
Brilliant! We need more comic sci fi like these! :)
what a cool character,he could easily be in a series..loved the funky music,it suits him and the old type but modern technology .icould watch his antics all night..AWESOME..
The first 20 seconds are like the best intro i've ever seen - well done!!
So everyone knows that the father who was protecting his children just lost an arm and is bleeding out in front of his scared shitless children, just checking.
I approve. This was awesome
I wish I had that machine to watch the story concept unravel on the back of a bill's envelope. Truly brilliant. And the use of eyeslits to convey emotion is just beyond cool. Well effing done!
The best short we've watched all night. Thanks
