With those buckles on the tree end of your straps you can keep the buckles connected to the hammock and walk from one tree to the other. I have a brightly colored cord on my straps as a tell tale one fore head and two fore tail. :)
That is a very good idea! I don't have them aleays connected because I use the straps on a different hammoc as well. I like the idea of making one end recognizeable, so I might tie something on the head end, just in case I am in doubt! Thaks for the comment!
I tried that one time, and it made it very hard to lay diagonally, because the mat kept sliding around :( Maybe I'd need some anti-slide material under it, or have a double layered hammock. Or a hammock like the Haven that has a flat base. Thanks you so much for commenting!
Sleeping outside is definetly a hard thing. I remember once i brought my dog and a tent. At night i heard rustling beneath the tent. I was scared for real because it was most likely a snake. i took my dog out and we hiked for two hours and came back. Lifted the tent and moved it a little just so i could inspect under it. Snakeyboy was gone, probably went inside my sleeping bag while i was away.
It is called the "DD Hammocks Underblanket." Synthetic fill. Packs down small, but is much colder than stated by the company. After a lot of use, I would not use it below 7 degrees Celsius.
@@LeviGAdventure Okay thanks. I'm in Florida so that's no worry here, but for trips north it's good to know. I'm mainly looking for something that fits a Hennessy Explorer Asym well.
My 11yr old granddaughter loves camping but we have never been hammock camping trying to get her think about it..but not sure about me trying it never done it before...
Hammock camping in the beginning can include a lot of fiddling about before you can get a good "hang." I recommend testing it out first before you go deep into the woods, especially if you have a cheap hammock with no structural ridgeline. But once you have gotten used to it, it can grant you a restful sleep you will never forget. And thank you so much for your comment. And I really hope your granddaughter gets a lot of good experiences with you out camping! You are truly giving her a gift by doing so.
@@LeviGAdventureI purchased a compact hammock and tarp also about the same as yours made by Wise Owl $30 US each from Amazon will test it out this weekend before I purchase another for my granddaughter. Tarp comes with stakes and guy lines. Thanks for responding to my comment!
I have been hammock camping for over 40 years , I have 3 Hennesy Hammocks and a couple cheep single layer hammocks just for hanging out , if you are thinking about trying it out I suggest doing some research a head of time , there are some good books too , The Ultimate Hang is a good starting guide .
Same with my 9 year old son. We love to camp together. But my back kills me on air mattress. My son is pretty easy going. We are going on a 3 day 2 night camping / trout fishing trip in September. Bought us some entry level hammocks. Plan on brining the tent and gear for back up. Really hoping we can make it work hammocking.
you deserve more subs
Wow, thanks a lot for your comment! I try my best, but I'm still new to this. Fingers crossed for more subs as I make more videoes!

Nice video man! Keep them coming!
Thanks, I'll try my best 🔥🔥
Hi, the best thing for hammock is self inflating sleeping mat. Your backside dont get cold, and sleeping is like in bed ✌️

@@scottcarter4388 good start but be careful not to get the cold butt syndrome , insulation is a must below single layer hammock .

Are we to believe he slept with a ball cap on all night? This is some weak tea bro.
I usually always sleep with something on my head when sleeping outside. A head without hair gets cold pretty quickly, haha 😅
