REALLY appreciate how you’ve taken the time to link things!
THANK YOU! That took what seems to be too long to figure out.. Glad it helps!
Great video love the JR50&JLR50 qx4 very solid JDM reliability and off-road capability looking forward to seeing more videos!!!
Thank you and more to come!
Great video! Looking forward to seeing more!
Awesome, thank you!
Excited to see more got a lifted 02 on 31's, really reliable and starting to push it to see its capabilities, my stock 1997 r50 was impressive so excited to see how far i can push this one
Sounds great! R50s have so much capability.
Go ‘02, I have two
I like it Dan! good work
Really great to see a series focusing on the R50. You’ve done alot of the more complicated stuff (now you need a rear disc brake conversion), I see you’re running 33”&35” but I didn’t see regearing, have you done that yet? I have a set with a repacked LSD & an ARB airlocker still waiting for install.
Yep, its on 35s now and that was my goal. Nope, I did not regear and running 4.363 front and back. 4.636 would be better but its not worth the effort at this point. I do have a 3.9:1 transfer case gear (tx10 case) that I will install which will really help out on the trail. It does shift quite a bit on the road but that okay, as I take it easy on road anyway (no sway bars and rear Blokka). Next step would be to solid axle swap and replace both axles... ;-) Wow ARB you have an airlocker, excellent!
@@northwestoffroad Well, I ran across the ARB Air Locker for about half price, so hard to pass up. Obtaining the gears is pretty easy as you can pull them from 2WD models and the rear from XTerras & Frontiers. Interesting that you are going to a TX10 from an ATX as the ATX has a 33.51:1 crawl ratio and the TX10 is 24.55:1. Since I'm not a hard core wheeler, I like the option of AWD, especially with our wet roads but I also like how it eliminates the understeer of a locked center diff when just on loose dirt/gravel or packed sand/snow. You're not the first I've hear of considering a solid axle swap but I don't know of anyone who has really competently done it yet. I look forward to seeing the results.
My pathfinder has the TX10 lever-operated transfer case, which has a ratio of 2.02:1. Ill be installing a gear set that has 3.975:1, which will make a large difference in bringing the crawl ratio up to 48.39! This will be the end of major modification for my rig. ;-) If I did put in the 3.636 gears, it would bring my crawl ratio up to 51.41, which of course is better but the difference to me is not worth the effort.
oh YEAH
Yea!
I wheel a 95 and have always liked the R50'S since it's similar in style to the WD21's and still have my favorite part the cool rear door handle location. Have you broken any CV shafts?
Yes, I have broke an CV axle. I used a 1 inch space along with heavy OME spings (ARB2928) in the front. I ran this for a year or so and was fine but did notice issues when going up long, steep hills. Due to weight transfer, the CVs were at full droop and eventually they started making knocking/grinding sounds even when just driving on flat ground. One CV was broke. I solved this by going with a Sub Frame Drop which brought the CVs back into normal specification. Now there are new CVs which would solve this issue. @@northwestoffroad Yeah, Jake & I were looking at them - he bought & I snoozed until they were out if stock. As an FYI, Jakes are rusting already so consider painting when you get them
@@TheKPDX I run those on my 02 R50. I have them paired with OME struts and AC lift springs. Have had them on for about 1 1/2 yrs and they have been excellent, provide lots of articulation. Haven't noticed any rust but I am in the AZ desert so even when we get wet/muddy it dries quickly and of course there's no down here.
@@digitalmdrealmd9124 I ended up buying a pair for both my Pathy & my QX4 - went ahead & painted them prior to install due to my PNW location
I liked & subscribed. What is the transmission cooler from? Can you link it please?
Sweet r50!
Thanks! I used two coolers in line. 2 external Transmission cooler amzn.to/3xZjWuw and amzn.to/38vT2jd
@@northwestoffroad Hello from Colombia SoAm. Why did you put 2 transmission coolers?
I’m very interested in the quick sway bar disconnects
Also where did you get the blokka rear locker from?
Blokka was ordered from here: izh-techno.ru/series/blokka-blokirovka-differentsiala-mosta-nissan-terrano-r50/ Use chrome to translate it into English. I ordered it over a year ago and I would be surprised if you still can order it. I have seem some of them listed on US websites and also on ebay, which would be a better option.
@@northwestoffroad It’s worth noting, I believe this only works in the standard carrier, not the LSD version
I wanna build my rig just like this i just bought an 01 pathfinder do you have a video breaking down everything?
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/e0valj1SCbk/v-deo.html
Hey I own 2000 Series 2 R50 Pathfinder with 202.567 miles on the clock and still going strong I have always wounder why people put land rover coils on their pathfinders.
To lift it far beyond stock! NRC 9448 coils will lift the rear 4 inches. They directly fit and are very inexpensive! I have lifted my rear 6 inches total, with the use of a spacer and LR coils.
I wonder how this pathy is doing a year later.
Getting some minor upgrades! More to come
Hey Buddy, feel free to jump on our NZ R50 group page, my truck has a few similar Mods to yours. Sam
Will do and thanks!
Why does everyone subframe drop these things?
You really can only lift the front of an R50 3 inches. Yes it is possible to lift more but then CV axles will start breaking. A three inch lift is good for 33 inch tires, but still alot of trimming is needed. A sub frame drop allows you to run larger tires as I needed to run 35s. Though the SFD does not give you more clearance under the front differential, it gives your front wheels more room and gives you a better breakover angle. It can be thought of as a front body lift.
