    Love it mate, I have a 2000 r50 Pathy myself in champagne gold colour for my beach 4wd adventures on the islands off Brisbane in South East Queensland, Australia. To my Pathy I’ve added a 1& 1/2 inch lift with Tough Dog Suspension running Parelli Scorpian AT tyres with an aggressive side wall for better protection, Rhino Pioneer rack with pins to secure my Maxtrax recovery boards, Xrox Bullbar with attached STEDI and Great White LED’s for when driving up the beach late at night back to camp,after a long day out before high tide arrives. I also added some custom made ‘Pathfinder’ decals including ‘ST Touring’ for that extra touch.
    I was considering moving it on after 6 years from when I bought her with just 85’000 kms which is now sitting on 175’000 kms but finding it hard to say goodbye. You’ve inspired me to create a video for my own channel before we depart later this year as I want another adventure or two with the old girl this Aussie Spring come September.

    Nice truck you have there sir. I am not too much into off-road but like very much how these R50 looks like (mine is a 2000 SE MT). I like the rack you have. Maybe someday I raise the suspension about 3 inches but I would really like to know more about that rack and where to get a similar one. By the way! Nice job to the front bumper to be the first weld! congratulations.

    Iv watched this video 3 times now. And most of your others. I am buying a pathfinder for hunting purposes. I think this is a fantastic choice for the dollar vs the Toyotas.
    I'm a little confused about the sub frame drop, lift kit, suspension upgrade combo.
    Basically I want to put a lift and upgrade the suspension for a smoother ride with either 33's or 35's.
    I'm using this for hunting purposes, I do go down some gnarly roads every now and then. Some of the best roads are, hey this isn't on the map, let go see where it goes... then I get out and hunt.
    So with all that said. What would I do to upgrade the suspension and get some bigger tires. Get a smoother ride?
    Hope you can help and yes I subscribed!

    • @northwestoffroad
      @northwestoffroad  Рік тому

      A 3 inch all around lift will fit 33 inch tires though it will take a bit of trimming the wheel wells to prevent rubbing. This setup though will make the Pathy very capable on many trails. I had my Pathy like this for several years. The subframe drop is needed to get more clearance up front to fit 35 inch tires, which is what I have now. So, overall 5.5 inch lift up front and 6 inches in the rear. Hope this helps

    • @northwestoffroad

      You are very welcome! Yes, 35s will fit but it does require a Sub Frame Drop (SFD). 33s will fit without a SFD.

    Is the transfer case gear you mentioned what is commonly referred to as a 'crawler gear'? I run 31" tires and a 5-speed and sometimes finding myself wanting a bit lower range even now, so I'd love to get some info on that.
    Also how are those OME struts treating you? I just installed a set and they seem pretty good as far as the ride after a couple weeks, but that's all I have to go on so far.

    • @northwestoffroad
      @northwestoffroad  8 місяців тому

      Yes! The transfer case gear changes the transfer case ration from basically 2:1 to 4:1 (not quite but close). It really makes a huge difference the overall crawl ration of the Pathfinder! The OME struts are working out well! The springs have sagged through the few years and I will be replacing the springs with AC coils. This should raise the front an inch.

  • @maxbet3997

    What spacer are you running on your rear setup? I am running 9449 coils. The spacer I have is the supreme brand. I ran into an issue with the spacer not fitting the inside of the coil where it sits. Did you have to modify yours to work?

    • @northwestoffroad
      @northwestoffroad  Рік тому

      I too have the Supreme brand and yep, I could not get those to fit either. I ended using a pair I bought on Ebay back in 2018. Ebay no longer shows the purchase though. They were a red urethane/plastic, which I painted black. They were tight as well but were able to flex inside the springs.
