  • (2022-03-21) Annnnnnd after ten years I come back and ask myself: WHY did you add the pinky? Attention all, I think I fucked up. Just worry about duplicating the root and the fifth, don't worry about the pinky on the B string until the ride out! I am filled with chagrin. I meant well! Sorry, Page!
    Part 1 of 5.
    I hope that this tutorial will help some Helmet fans to enjoy playing this amazing song on the guitar. This lesson is based on my own interpretation of the song, it's also a compromise in terms of it being only one guitar.
    If you don't see the other tutorial parts suggested in the list on the right side of your screen, just go to my channel.

      +Paul Nugent yep me too. I know how to play it. But it's great to having said all the details. Which makes Helmets style so specific.

    Hey, great lesson man! I've wanted to learn this song for such a long time. But I'm having some trouble with the getting my pinky to separate from my ring finger on the 4g 5b part...any tips?? Do you think it would sound bad if I I just stayed on the power chords 2,3, and 5 frets?

    • @ifutureman
      @ifutureman  6 років тому +1

      Well I'd focus just on the power chord with the added ring finger. Disregard the pinky altogether, you can maybe add that back some time down the road. It really does sound a lot better if you can add that extra note on the G string at least. Keep practicing, I'm sure you'll get it!

    What pedal you using to get that sound?

    • @ifutureman
      @ifutureman  2 роки тому

      Believe it or not that is just the onboard distortion from my little Marshall MG-15. It is incredible how good it sounds for just a small practice amp even at pretty low volume! The Les Paul helps :)

      Most folks would be nervous if they presumed to tell the world how to play Page Hamilton’s music through a UA-cam video. Hopefully I did a good job.
