Look at this!! It's 2023(almost 2024) and we're STILL discovering Prince's music. 7 years after his death. I haven't heard anything from Michael Jackson.....

When I was growing up, we were DIRT POOR!!!!!! I was too busy being hungry to like music. But when I turned 15, I suddenly started listening to Prince. I have no idea what song turned me onto Prince. At age 15, I was listening to Prince 7 days & nights EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I listened to his album PURPLE RAIN on a small tape player using headphones. I listened to every song on the purple rain album as I slept. TO THIS DAY, I can sing that ENTIRE ALBUM VERBATUM PERFECTLY. . .

As we true Prince fans know, he was a big fan/supporter of the great Larry Graham. In this particular set of recordings, I can hear the Larry Graham influence VERY strongly.
Prince was the master of incorporating many musical influences into his own style...not merely copying them. He truly is one of the rarefied, generational musical geniuses of all time. Unmatched and unrivaled.

I like how he stretches out the guitar solo on My Love Is forever. I was working in a record store when For You came out. I jumped on it because the brother on the cover looked to be my age. Little did I know at the time what he would become. And to think, he was launching one of the greatest careers in music history while I was just being a teenager. WB should release all of his albums with these extra tracks that weren't on the originals. CW, I don't know how you do what you do but DON'T STOP!

Thank u so much for the uploads. truly enlightening. I will mourn & celebrate this man for the rest of my life. Fun fact: For the 1st 2 albums prince sang the entire albums in his falsetto. He once said he didn’t think ppl would like his lower register. It wasn’t until Dirty Mind that he started to develop his style in tonality at the mid & lower parts of his voice. To my knowledge it wasn’t until ‘I Love U In Me’ the b side to ‘Batman’s’ ‘The Arms Of Orion’ that Prince sang in a more natural Baritone. Anyway just sharing. Rest In Peace brother. Miss u xx

Most tracks he recorded i his studio every instrument all the melodies and sang lyrics recorded and mixed his. Tracks then played to his band.. This is what i want from my band!! Stevie Wonder also did all his songs, drums, keys, vocals, etc, then brought the recordings to his guys when they hit the road.

I really dig Prince's music . We Can Work It Out reminds me of the vocal riff Michael Jackson uses in Let Me Show You the away to go. Also his voice always reminded me of Philip Bailey. Musically he was something else. Really enjoyed these demos probably from the Record Plant during his For You sessions.

Is there any bad song ???? Nope. Why ? Because they're all dope. Prince's songs define Music better than any dictionaries, just like Jesus defines Christianity better than any pope. Prince was his real name, Michael was Nicknamed the King of Pop...Purple music is nothing but the soundtrack of our hope.

To be honest I think that Jesus’ definition would be radically different from that of any Christian who ever lived. Jesus probably would not be a christian himself if you catch my drift 🙂
Or, the other way around, as Nietzsche said, there only ever was one christian and he died on the cross 🙂
