Look at this!! It's 2023(almost 2024) and we're STILL discovering Prince's music. 7 years after his death. I haven't heard anything from Michael Jackson.....
Have you?!
Keep the funk rolling.....
When I was growing up, we were DIRT POOR!!!!!! I was too busy being hungry to like music. But when I turned 15, I suddenly started listening to Prince. I have no idea what song turned me onto Prince. At age 15, I was listening to Prince 7 days & nights EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I listened to his album PURPLE RAIN on a small tape player using headphones. I listened to every song on the purple rain album as I slept. TO THIS DAY, I can sing that ENTIRE ALBUM VERBATUM PERFECTLY. . .
His music created another world for sure
That's dope.
Stumbling upon these vault uploads is like finding old family photos in the attic that you didn't know existed....like finding money in the pocket of some clothes you haven't worn in forever...like bumping into an old friend in a place you never expected to see them.
A sincere thanks for uploading these, brotha. ✊🏽💜🕊
It's like finding secret photos you were never meant to see, that your beloved relative hadn't given you permission to look at.
It's like finding more pieces to a puzzle I been trying solve since I was 16.
its like winning the lottery but better 10 million times better!
@@mufcism this is princes “last Christmas gift, hidden deep behind the tree” type of shit
So wonderful!!! I wish Prince as with many artists, could just release their music without interference!!!
This is the must !
All of my youth
I love Prince ❤
Thanks for sharing 🎉
The last one : a conversation for posterity !!😂❤
I love her voice, so smooth …
how the hell did they get a waterbed into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon?
that's totally something Lando would've done
They had to because Prince hated to fly Solo
LMFAO 😂
best comment ever.
Good question, not much space in there.
As we true Prince fans know, he was a big fan/supporter of the great Larry Graham. In this particular set of recordings, I can hear the Larry Graham influence VERY strongly.
Prince was the master of incorporating many musical influences into his own style...not merely copying them. He truly is one of the rarefied, generational musical geniuses of all time. Unmatched and unrivaled.
Obvious Joni Mitchell influence on I Miss U
Who was the girl in the interview?
lnapjr76 Graham Central Station was badass!
Larry graham was the worst thing that ever happened to Prince.
@@rrson648 I agree 💯.
Prince music is magic. Absolutely the best of all time !!! I miss you Prince
He sounded THIS GOOD AT 17 years old!!!!
19 yo would be the youngest age at that range (1977-78)
@@norakat That's not an error. They hired him while he was still a minor. Thats why he was able to win the rights back to his music before his death. It took him YEARS in court; but he won. Then he "died".
PRINCE proved out of the gate he was all in about his music &. early on he was a genius. peace &. be wild! 1love
Maaan this is a young Prince new in the industry..wow..His talent is matchless..
My thumbs brought me here!!! To the sweet sounds of Prince in the air. Rise in power!!! Such a masterful human being. He lived and breathed his creation. He was the sun and the moon and everything inbetween. We shall never have another like him.
God Bless!!!
Daaayyyuuuummm!!! There are thousands of little explosions going off in my brain right now!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
See a doctor about that
@@calstonjew 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like how he stretches out the guitar solo on My Love Is forever. I was working in a record store when For You came out. I jumped on it because the brother on the cover looked to be my age. Little did I know at the time what he would become. And to think, he was launching one of the greatest careers in music history while I was just being a teenager. WB should release all of his albums with these extra tracks that weren't on the originals. CW, I don't know how you do what you do but DON'T STOP!
Soft n Wet it doesn’t get any better than that y’all! Quince Jones n him had similar ideas I do believe!!! Michael n Prince there will never be another’s line them … I am a child of the 70s so glad music was inspirational n taught me the meaning of being n love 💜💜💜💜💜 Prince the teacher !
I've said it before, many times, that his genius never ceases to amaze me. To write, produce and play like this at such an early age is proof positive of his destiny and legend. My greatest wish is that the masters to *all* of his unreleased tracks be turned over to top-notch producers and remastered. Thanks again for sharing this.
Prince was a master, genius...his music is very diverse. Musician, producer, arranger, composer, writer.. What a gift to the music industry
So perfect. So funky. So real. Miss him so much
His music was the precursor to disco
The Man had Love within and shared with the world.I’ve been smiling and tears forming from my senses alert ,like it was the first time and heard For You LP.
Oooh so funky it hurts. Just the sound I need while stranded in the Detroit airport. Maybe hop a flight to Minneapolis?
I love this so much. Especially My Love is Forever. I can listen to this everyday.
One of my all! Time favorite cuts foshow
That's why he kept his unreleased master recording material in his vault before wb getting their hands on it
What an artist, he programmed all the synths too.. it was another part of his genius. It gave him a sound that nobody else had what great sounds his guitar playing was raw and inspired and funky.
This is just so pure and its incredible at 17 his mastery of the recording process. The best part it just feels so dam good !!!
Amazing all of this in one person, now i understand why people are so gifted and complex because they are just genius!
Thank u so much for the uploads. truly enlightening. I will mourn & celebrate this man for the rest of my life. Fun fact: For the 1st 2 albums prince sang the entire albums in his falsetto. He once said he didn’t think ppl would like his lower register. It wasn’t until Dirty Mind that he started to develop his style in tonality at the mid & lower parts of his voice. To my knowledge it wasn’t until ‘I Love U In Me’ the b side to ‘Batman’s’ ‘The Arms Of Orion’ that Prince sang in a more natural Baritone. Anyway just sharing. Rest In Peace brother. Miss u xx
He is a baritone .
So its not that develop a register , just exposing what is your basic register
Such a visionary even from the early years!
My first experience to prince was oon soul train !! He opened with drive! So humble soft spoken.. Buy he mastered all instruments by picking it up. Most tracks he recorded i his studio every instrument all the melodies and sang lyrics recorded and mixed his. Tracks then played to his band.. This is what i want from my band!! Prince had me hooked the moment he opened his mouth!! Miss what he could have shared if he was still here!! Incredible artist entertainer was unmatched to this day!!
Stevie Wonder also did all his songs, drums, keys, vocals, etc, then brought the recordings to his guys when they hit the road.
There's no one, of any genre, that has done things like those two, in the past 75 years, if not longer.
Genius is applicable.
PRINCE just had the Music in him, it's just that simple, truly a gift from God. peace &. be wild! 1love
Prince was the son of of a musician who didn't quite make it... just like Mozart and Michael Jackson. God has nothing to do with it.
@@paullebon323 Mozart and Prince are in a totally different line of work. Michael Jackson was a great singer and dancer, which is a wonderful feat, but that's it.
@@DanieleBrunengo Michael knew how to produce, play piano, song write, and more. Research on this topic before commenting
Classic prince love the old stuff
There’s a fullness to the sound. It just hits the spot. What else can I say?
Oh how I love this man’s artistry! He touches every facet of my being with his music. He has the ability to reach inside me and lift me into a stream of elation. Thank You Sweet Prince for allowing us to be apart of the NPG family and teaching us to love one another.
Feeling like I missed out on some moments in my adolescence now 😥
Soft & Wet reminds me of the Shogun Warrior I'd had back in 1978. I've got a pristine Great Mazinga figure on display on top of the library card catalog in my apartment...memories 🙏💕 This album plays like a time machine 🎵🤘
Prince’s talent is devine. His to own and do as he pleases. In the end, it all comes out.
This is from a time when most people were denied real funk!
Unless you have a decent pair of speakers and amp or headset, you ain’t feeling this jazzy funky vibe🕺🏽🎼🕺🏽
I miss him so much 🕊🕊🕊🕊
this is my favorite era!
I wish Prince made even just a little bit more music with this style. Thanks for the upload, as always.
He did he was ahead of his time I remember hearing soft and wet as a kid and never heard it again until now
For all we know he did and it's still in the vault!
I bet there is more to come. Styles fade and the stuff he sat on seems to be pure gold, I can imagine there is so much more.
I agree with you!!!!
Thanks Brotha! O)+> forever! 0:00 /2:05 /5:00 /8:01 /12:04 /17:48 /21:50 /23:18 /26:00 /28:44 /33:43 /35:33 /38:32
These are so good. And I love he had already started the habit of reworking his songs.
That bass!!!!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Soft and Wet... that's how I love you baby.
I truly believe that this is Prince doing what they called a one man jam session in the studio . some of these songs made it on the For you album and some didn't even though Warner Bros records gave Prince control to produce arrange composed and perform all of his own music
Making him Warner Bros youngest producer ever on the label
Can’t believe I’m hearing this rare classic unheard music. Thanks man. Cool gift.
This like finding a priceless treasure Im a Prince dude never heard most of these thank you soo much I needed to hear these
540 a.m. CST. Just finished listening!🤯 Damn! Can't sleep now...straight to the studio! ❤ Prince!
Been a fan all my life. Saw him live at The Omni in Atlanta. 1981.
It was Prince, Roger and Zapp, The Time, and Shelia E. When Doves Cry Tour. Talk about a 🔥 Concert. Me and My Future and Present Wife. 1981.
Purely golden, timelessly hidden from the thieves of the world...
It pretty sounds like those in the double CD "94 East". Oooh my, Eye L.U.V this stuff 🙏💜. Thank U, BrothaCharles Ward 🙏💜.
Just listened to '82 (4 times in a row). Now this. I'm so blown away I'm a little teary eyed.
man that 82 vault album is seriously EVERYTHING foreal, I hear u when u said u listened 4 times, he whole album is top notch hits and gems. omg that baby ur a trip....Omg that was repeatedly repeated before i could get through the end of the song, same as purple music. just a great album im so grateful we ow get to hear....
I’m true. I remember my first Walkman dancing upstairs while my mom was entertaining downstairs. My father passed when I was 11
Kasey Kasem introduced Controversy & Prince has been in my veins since. I’m now 53 💜♐️
THE ORIGINAL FOR YOU ALBUM LOVE IT ,HIS HUMBLE BEGINNINGS SOUNDS DAMN GOOD TOO ME 💥🎆🎉🎇🎈
His manager messed up on Prince first album. I am glad that Prince took full control after that. Some of these songs and some of these versions should of been on for you
I remember after Prince passed, it was said we'd get to hear music like this. Thank you so much for letting us hear it. Prince was the best musician, singer, etc going. I miss you Prince but thank you for all the wonderful music.
Jelly Jam is the coda section of Just as Long as We’re Together on For You, but they were originally two separate tracks. It was genius for them to combine the two.
19 years old!
Hey, BrothaCharles, you’re doing a great job here! And this selection from the late ‘70s Prince is pure gold. I’m a big fan of the early Prince albums, and this sound is so freaking cool!
Proof of genius with great sound. Outstanding "power to capture the times" can be felt in sounds like "Earth Wind & Fire" or "Azymuth". Feeling the early Prince's seeds, this album deserves to impress us, even if it's not an official release. I pray for gratitude and a good night's sleep for the happiness and his existence that I was able to live in the same age as him. From warm spring Japan. Love & Peace
Love&Peace
Loving Prince more everyday - didn't know that was possible!! Thank u Prince - you continue to give and give even after your earth 🌏 departure. Your fam loves you!! 💜💜💜💜💜 is that vanity at the end?
Some deep cuts! Nice!!!!!! 💜💜💜🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can never get enough of listening to Prince on acoustic guitar! Amazing.
Absolutely agree, 100!!!
I actually find it the least interesting actually . When he get's in the studio is where the magic starts to happen.
The best
The bass is funky
I had this album in 1979 and was so impressed when i read on the back that All instruments and vocals were performed by himself!!! And i continued to be impressed by him, even after his passing. Thanks for posting this memory!
I LOVE THE PURENESS OF YOUR HARD WORK MAKES LIFE WORTH EVERY BREATH TAKEN TO HEART...;I actually fell to sleep, because The songs knocked me out friday night in my bed...
Fantastic. Music is still fresh, exciting, jamming, a kick to listen to ...
"My Love is Forever" - lovely. I remember first hearing this many moons ago and thought, "oh, how sweet" and girls saying that he was gay. What?! Crazy.
Well, this recording still holds up.
This is the real Prince, beneath all his bravado.
That last bit is like listening to Poppy interview Prince. 😂🙌💜
now there's some funky music playin'
Love this version of Soft and 💦 Wet 💦! Way funkier! Anyone else agree ✅?
Certified
I like it. I like it ALOT...but the one we all know (and LOVE) is rawer...you don't get the snap of the snares on this one...it sounds a lil cloudier...the arrangement is similar enough to feel like he is doing a concert version of the original...
I like this version of Soft and Wet better than what was released. These cuts are awesome.
I agree
This is my musical find of the decade. I had just about everything related to the first 10 albums + unreleased albums. Revelations 2.0 etc... but it's the first time I've heard the For You demos. Totally blown away when i put it on in the car. Thank you so so much..
Soft and Wet is simply fuckin funk-tastic!!
Definitely subscribed to your channel my friend! Thank you for sharing this. I'm currently sitting in the car listening to this from beginning to end. I also listened to the 1980 to upload and really enjoy that as well. Thank you.
Prince before the 80s is where it's at. Love all of it.
These vault recordings are amazing! They have a certain theatricality that make them even more funky than the originals. Now everybody and they momma trying to put out a "Vault" album!
This man was so so talented. Fell in love with his music since i was 13 . R.I.P Prince.
God bless u my friend, for this ultra rarity that u have shared so generously. I ve got all the records of our beloved Prince. Cd tape vinyl and rare box. But i did'n know this proto album. After all these years i am so excited to hear this voice and his magic fingers. Thank You so much. A big hug and ciaoo from Turin Italy!
This channel should have a million subs!
I agree! But if it did we wouldn't be able 2 enjoy it! I'm content with keeping it our little secret.
I really dig Prince's music . We Can Work It Out reminds me of the vocal riff Michael Jackson uses in Let Me Show You the away to go. Also his voice always reminded me of Philip Bailey. Musically he was something else. Really enjoyed these demos probably from the Record Plant during his For You sessions.
I'm really digging all these unreleased joints! Thanks 😊
Bass! So funky😎💜👑
How the hell did I not know this existed? Thanks for the upload...
one year lateri have the same comment!
I need 1979 vault 😍💜💕
For You could've been a better album, after hearing this
@@PrinceZappa There's more unreleased songs the same year when For You released, The Rebels had some songs that could been on the album but maybe they can do a deluxe edition like Purple Rain deluxe. 💕💕💕💕
so dope... Prince is still giving, still suprising, still...
I heard these was the years he played every instrument and vocals
Yes. It was
Is there any bad song ???? Nope. Why ? Because they're all dope. Prince's songs define Music better than any dictionaries, just like Jesus defines Christianity better than any pope. Prince was his real name, Michael was Nicknamed the King of Pop...Purple music is nothing but the soundtrack of our hope.
heads and shoulders above MJ
@@sophiafaith sometimes it's even toes and ankles above MJ...LOL
Sometimes it's feet and back muscles
First time listening & my edit will answer this question 👍🏼😎💃🏽😎👍🏼
To be honest I think that Jesus’ definition would be radically different from that of any Christian who ever lived. Jesus probably would not be a christian himself if you catch my drift 🙂
Or, the other way around, as Nietzsche said, there only ever was one christian and he died on the cross 🙂
The interview is also very cool haha
Thanks for posting these unreleased classics. Before he was the greatest he was the Maestro.
This is amazing! Miss him 😢💜
I just copy this whole cd thanks to you!!!!!! i wonder if Prince would have been cool with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GENIUS
You made my day a better day! Thank you very much!
“Jelly Jam” and “Donna” are amazing. I also dig “I Miss You”.
I wonder who he was singing about in the song Donna.
I've just realized teen-Prince was bit of a Thundercat , funking with 'those' melodies. Now I'm a bit sad too.. But blessed hearing both their creations.
Uh, let's be real...Thundercat is a bit of a Prince.
So funky and amazing.🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜💎💎💎🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Beautiful Music, thank you!
prince is NO.1‼️
I am here for "soft & wet"! Thats a bop!
Right on! Sexy I just jamming to the brother that influence me to do music as a lol dude OH I just subscribe to you hun breAth back on me subscribe back #1thou
Prince is timeless.
This album is timeless. Still holds up...his days of innocence and before he went in another direction with Dirty Mind.
This album is solid!
!!!WoW!!! Danke Dir, dass Du dieses wunderbare Album mit uns teilst! Just Groovy
omg prince you are just killing the bass!
LOVE this collection! This is PRINCE! PRODIGY AND GENIUS!
A league of his own. Is it possible that he actually DOESN’T get enough accolades or credit for his contributions to nearly every genre? Honest to god, he was an absolute visionary.
Right on! Let's see what's good. Sounds clean so far!
