Thirty years ago, aliens arrive on Earth. Not to conquer or give aid, but to find refuge from their dying planet. It’s definitely one of those movies that could have a sequel to. A time jump forward kind of thing and we see the aliens migrating into foreign countries etc. as a take on todays current political climate
Absolutely not. Current Hollywood would ruin it. Less is more.
This was such a great movie, it had so many aspects that reflected on our historical to current conditions in human treatment, using "aliens" as a prop for how certain nations/ demographics are towards fellow humans. Europeans and Indigenous Americans and Mexicans, Europeans and African nations, Europeans and Australia's indigenous, Europeans and Canada's indigenous, Europeans and New Zealand's indigenous, etc. This movie does not need a sequeal, the point is made. Those who start to show empathy and are treated like thr downtrodden, is only when people become aware of the horrors of their mistreatment.

That’s the whole point of the movie. It’s an allegory of the real-life events that took place during apartheid-era District 6 in South Africa.

Wikus was so abnocius in the beginning, in my opinion he got whtpat he deserved, but he reddemed himself towards the end, such an awesome character.
