Just saying, a $300 exhaust is $300 for a reason. You are correct that no exhaust will replicate a large displacement V8 sound but more expensive exhaust companies spend thousands of dollars Tunning their exhaust systems. From choosing the type of metal used, the gauge of metal, the way it’s bent, the type of baffle, the type of baffle material, the length, diameter, and placement. There are reasons some exhaust are underwhelming at $300 and $$$ reasons some actually make a v6 sound really good without the negative drone.
It would be no different than me taste testing a burger from Burger King and one from McDonnalds and claiming all burgers are underwhelming and leave you wanting more. That would be absurd. There are frozen burgers and fresh ground patties. There are several different grades of meat and cuts of meat that can be used. There are cheap seasonings and fresh seasoning. Mass produced burgers and crafted burgers.
You can’t judge them all as the same unless you have had access to all of them and done a real world review with many data points.
I have had several over the years to formulate an educated opinion. My opinion stands in that no exhaust ($300 or otherwise) sounds good when paired with a 6cyl engine. Of course it’s a matter of preference.

I installed Corsa cold air intake and touring cat back exhaust on my 2021 Gladiator with 6 speed manual. the increased sound with acceleration assists in my shift points. At cruising speeds, the cabin is quiet. I am completely satisfied with the results.

I bought my gladiator a week ago and I love the sound with the flowmaster super 44, and the original pipe diameter. It’s very smooth like an Infiniti, and has no drone. I’m very picky on the way cars sound, preferring European sports cars. I was disappointed with every exhaust system I installed on my tundra because the manifolds were tiny and the pipe lengths were not the same left and right. But Mopar did a good job of ensuring both banks have the same pipe length. I’ll take a video and post it up here soon.

Have you ever heard a V-8 truck that sounds good? They all sounds the same, the high pitch popping sound. It’s not the size of the engine, they put a V-6 Ford Thunder engine in the new 2022 FORD GT’s that thats over a half million dollar car. I own a 65 Shelby Cobra, and a New Shelby GT-500 Mustang, and the mustang sounds like the Gladiator with the Borla ATAK exhaust on it.
When you said V-8 mustang with the deep throat sound your referring to the Mustangs of the late 80’s & early 90’s with Flo Master exhausts on them.
Hate to tell you this, but that sound doesn’t exist anymore. I drive new Vette, Lambos, Ferraris, Mclarens, Porsches on a regular basis, they ALL have the high pitch popping sound, and when you add aftermarket exhaust, that high pitch sound is amplified. Name me one new car today that has a low deep exhaust sound, especially when your in the throttle. You can’t. Trust me, I have a brand new Mojave, the Borla exhaust get a ton of attention. Well worth the $1,000
I sure have. Heck of a difference between the V8 and V6 for awesome sounding exhausts👍. In the end, if you’re happy that’s all that matters.

I am on the fence with upgrading the Intake and exhaust. The performance bump is not my main concern but the engine tone. I watched a hand full of videos and I think Intake is the better proposition. Easy bolt on and when it comes time to SMOG my Gladiator, it's a couple of bolts and I'm back to stock in like 10mins.

CORSA IS ANTI DRONE! I installed the Corsa sport exhaust cat back on my 2022 majave and I love it to death it's quiet when you're cruising when you get on it's a great sound! JEEP put so much exhaust crap on the stock Gladiators it strangles the thing to death

I’ve been thinking of putting an exhaust system on my Mojave, I saw the custom Mopar gladiator and instantly liked the way it looked and sounded but I’m not sure if it’s worth it or not or how it’ll hold up since it’s a Mopar product would it be under warranty?
AFE Rock Basher will increase performance. Did it on my JL. When I put the stock exhaust back on before trading it, the jeep felt clogged. Mpg also went up.

Don’t skip the throttle body spacer. Pay the extra $100

It all depends on the person. I spent 400 on two 10 flowmasters on my Dodge Dart and I love the sound of it. And if I had the money I would spent 1000+ for borla or corsa
I agree, had the Carven Progressive on my Hemi Rebel, loved it. That being said, my Jeep Wrangler is a whole different thing. I dont think I would be happy at all. Saw your video with the Airraid swap and your wifes Jeep. I do like that.

Funny you're right. Searched UA-cam high and low listening to exhaust. I did find the best JL 3.6 exhaust and that's a staight pipe. No muffler no res sounds best. But its loud.

I think I've settled on the Flowmaster outlaw, affordable and aggressive. Just hope the 409 last through our winters. AFE power was a close second. Feel the outlaw give a better deeper tone.
My other option is custom with a flowmaster muffler that can be removed for a straight pipe but I'm looking at double the cost.
Afe mach force.. its awesome. No drone, sounds like a gtr when your in it.. gained some mpg on the freeway.. I had a s&b and hated it.. took it out and got the mopar cold air and seems ok.. still stuck with that s&b.. no one wants it especially after a guy on UA-cam posted dyno results

I would do the cold air intake and the exhaust together. I think that having the engine breath better will help with cooling and performance. The sound should be not too loud and not so quiet you can't hear it running. But that's just me.

It depends on the vehicle. I have a 2019 5th Gen 1500 3.6L and I installed a Performance K&N air intake.. I did a Dyno test before the installation and afterwards and I gained 10hp just with the air intake.
I have cold air intake and took out resonator from rear and it gave me a nice sound not loud at all but better sound

I absolutely love my black widow exhaust I have the neighbor hater on my jkur and the angry housewife on my wife’s overland gladiator go check their website out they have a section where you can listen to what your vehicle would sound like with one of their different styles of mufflers they build

Cutting out the mufflers and leaving the resonators sounds great and doesnt give drone, check out some other youtube videos that have done it. Also another channel did intake and exhaust and with 37s and picked up a second from 0-60 8 secs vs 9 secs, that is a huge gain on a slow as hell truck.

I put flowmaster 40 on my old 3L 91 Toyota and it sounds amazing. It's a deep sound and crackles and pops when you let off the gas. Sounds alot like a diesel. V6s can sound good with the right set-up.

You said it all in one statement, you can’t get mustang sound out of anything other that a mustang. But you can get a lower tone. But it will be a jeep growl not a mustang growl.
It is mostly a waste of money but a truck just looks sweet with dual pipes out the back . The magnaflow or the MBRP with black tips looks great on a willys . They may add a few horsepower but can be pricey . Maybe down the road I will fold and get one lol

My 2001 Tundra sounded better then my 2019 pro Tundra. I had Headers 2 catalytic converters off a Lexus and 2 Magna flow mufflers and a K&N cold air intake. None of this Cat back B.S
I kinda agree. I'd love to have a better sounding exhaust, but it's not worth it. In the long run, I'd rather have a quiet driving experience.

Great video..those are facts that manufacturers don't want to admit. I have a K&N cold air intake and MBRP exhaust on my JTR. You are correct, fact is some of this stuff my give 5, 10 or so more hp, but you really won't notice that in normal driving, it just isn't enough. I'm planning on adding a Magnuson supercharger this spring....now a 100+HP....that you will notice...LOL. I like the sound of my CAI. For my exhaust...it sounds okay but I did the MBRP high clearance and it sounds good but most importantly it trims down the monstrosity of a system jeep put on the JT and tucks it high into the frame so it doesn't get smashed when wheeling.

I put a magnaflow muffler on my 2018 Willy’s....and that’s prob half the reason I got rid of it. Sounded horrible. Never again. I threw the old muffler away🤷🏻♂️ gladiator stays stock

this video is kinda poor taste. You cant just tell someone not to do something to their Jeep. Thats what Jeeps are for. Just because you either dont like it or dont notice any improvements, doesnt mean it shouldnt be a thing. I absolutely LOATHE the stupid angry eyes grills, but those are everywhere. Thats the beauty of Jeeps, everyone can customize them to their own preferences. Some people like the sound of different exhaust, some people like the effect they notice from CAI. Let people waste their money on their own wants if it makes em happy. you shouldnt post up a video trying to disuade someone from wanting to do something to make them happy.

Performance wise, your advice is completely backwards. Dyno proven results show that an exhaust will help by 5-6hp and torque. Most cold air intakes for the gladiator Will actually hurt your performance and there’s lots of dyno videos to watch of it for yourself.
When I speak of such things, I speak of increases (or decreases) that you can actually feel. The impact of an exhaust or CAI, while measurable on a Dyno, cannot be felt by the driver and has no power increase or decrease for the human.
What do you keep looking at? Its distracting...
