This connection to the music is what literally changed me as a person a few years ago and seeing other people experience it makes me very happy. This is a special band for the people who connect with them regardless of whatever genre they're leaning toward at the time. It's just as close to a religious experience I've ever had as a non religious person.

Holy shit - thank you for this little addition. I didn't notice that it was a buildup to the "flood.” I thought it was in response to "anything to get me to sleep" beforehand. Like those rain noise machines 😅

It's something strange about Sleep Token. I've heard them for the first time a week or so ago. A friend had a snippet of "Chokehold" in his WhatsApp status and it just caught me. I mean, I love music that's emotional, intensive, extreme, everything epic with a high intensity level. Some way to feel alive through my PTSD. But this is ... compared to other music like the jump from conventional explosives to thermonuclear. I don't know how they're doing this but it has such a strange, yet caring and catching magic. Like it's possesed. And now it possesses me too. It tears you apart only to instantly put you back together. I've found many truly wonderful artists and bands throughout my life like A Perfect Circle, Dredg, Thrice and many others. Also all some very, very unique stuff, artists. But this is - It's like from another planet. Guess now I finally feel that phrase. Or it's that "one in a million hit" that got me. I'm confused, fascinated and I want more.

this was my favorite song for such a long time, but holy shit, I watched an analysis of the lyrics and it completely transformed it for me, transcended even further beyond favorite, but god I have a hard time listening to it anymore
Vessel just finds a way to talk about these horrifying emotionally overwhelming subjects in a way that blows my mind, all the themes of mental health and depression and s**cide through his lyrics, its... terrifyingly good ❤

That was beautiful 🌊, it took me to a place that personally reminded me of a mix of pink floyd type instrumental, with Hozier voice tones. Loved the gentle rain effect in the background. Totally new band to me and I loved it. Thank you 🙌👏

This was the first song I heard from them… Their album was the top spot on an alternative album of the year list, over the new Limp Bizkit and Twelve Foot Ninja, so I had to listen to it…
I was freaking blown away instantly, and the album just fucking wrecked me! I fell in love HARD with them! Tracks like Missing Limbs and Bloodsport made sob like little boy with a skinned knee getting kicked in the nuts, while being dumped on his birthday, and their cover of Hey Ya really made it a completely different song!
Sleep Token are like a drug! I swear there’s subliminal messages in their music as it’s epic!
II is a beast of a drummer! His fills and ghost notes are beautiful.

Love this band totally obsessed. I can’t help but want to know the meaning behind every song because everything they do just hits different. I think this song is about suicide perhaps, I don’t know can’t be sure. But phrases like trying not to crush into sand like the weight & pressure of whatever it is he’s going through is too much to handle. Wash away the blood on my hands. Pain they know they don’t understand. At the bedside and many more phrases lead me to think it’s about a suicide attempt. I just can’t stop listening to Sleep Token best music I have heard in such a long time. Can’t wait to see more of your reactions to Sleep Token add Blood Sport to your list.
Hello Kimberly, I suspect you're right about the meaning of this song. It is generally interpreted as being about a failed suicide attempt. In fact the whole of 'This Place Will Become Your Tomb' is about suicide. You may notice that each track on the album has a depth in metres, which symbolises someone falling deeper into a depression. In both 'The Love You Want' and 'Fall for Me' videos, the main protagonist commits suicide. 'High Water' is an incredibly difficult listen lyrically and the static noise at the end of 'Missing Limbs' is just perfect. It's where we reach the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean. It is such a remarkable work of art and I'm so grateful to the immense bravery of Vessel in sharing it with us.

Ive really been enjoying your reactions recently, i found you through Ren but Ive been a ST fan for longer, and when i saw your short of Atlantic i was so excited for this reaction. This song is so deep, it rips me open nearly everytime. Knowing what the song is actually about makes it worse. 💔🖤

@@TheGiusinoGirl Ok, yes - I've seen lots of theories about it, I was just wondering if you had specific knowledge. I think it's about the aftermath of an accident that he survived, but his partner, the passenger, did not. "Blue lights over murder" would refer to the lights of the emergency responders, with people telling him that it wasn't his fault, but him feeling that he is a murderer. "Crumble like a temple built from future daughters to wasteland when the oceans recede" would refer to their lost future and how bleak his conscious moments are now, with the ocean representing unconsciousness. No matter how you interpret it, it's haunting and beautiful!
