  • SV Babido writes, "Dear Jeff, could you please explain what would be required for an international friendly inverter/charger shore power setup? We are refitting our Baba 35 currently for a Pacific passage and had our eye on the Victron Multiplus series, but from what we have read, shore power in, say, Thailand is not only 220v but also 50hz instead of 60hz. Assuming we only use North American appliances onboard, would we still have to get two installations for our shore power chargers? Thank you so much! Fair winds!"

    Hi Jeff!
I just got 2 200ah lifepo4 batteries for my house bank and was contemplating getting a 100ah lifepo4 for a start battery... could you advise as to whether or not this is a sufficient battery to start my 40hp yanmar???
    Thanks

I have a Euro boat in the usa. Finding it hard to order euro powered equipment and devices here. How about Skylla type charger for any type of shore power and two inverters pulling from your lithium house bank?... one 230v/50hz inverter feeding your primary AC loads and one 120v/60hz inverter to power a couple outlets for using usa powered devices?

By far, most of the world uses 220/240VAC 50Hz. 120VAC 60 Hz is only used in Canada, Mexico and USA plus a couple more small, somewhat unimportant countries.
