This REALLY helps. I was having touble tracking in a 360 video. My cam is mounted atop a pickup which means a moving object in the shot = not good for tracking. I removed the LatLong to get a flat image, did a poly of everything but the pickup, added back lat long, put in a camera tracker, attached the poly to the tracker... viola! tracked 360 video. -Thanks Jay!
Another great video Jay. I feel you have really grown over the years into a very fine producer of Davinci Resolve vids. Congrats on an impressive accomplishment.
How would you go about adding things like "shot tracers" from golf videos in this scene (think GOOD GOOD, Rick Shiels etc)? For a scene where the camera doesnt move it's simple enough to just add a background node -> paint node -> merge node, using polyline stroke for the paint node to draw the tracer. But cannot for the life of me figure out what the process is for 3D camera tracker scenarios.
Honestly? I have no idea how I would do that. But is the camera tracker actually needed for that? Unless the camera operator is actually walking, a regular tracker should work.
Very helpful for getting started, but I would like more of an in-depth explanation on what each of the parameters does and *why* you're setting them the way you are. (Especially the stuff with tracking point weights and stuff)
Could you tell me how to position things that are supposed to be attached to specific objects in the scene like say I wanted to add another car onto the road. I have a difficult time getting it to be in the appropriate place as the camera moves
Is the camera tracker really as easy to use as you make it look? I usually have to spend hours (sometimes days and sometimes a complete reshoot with less objects in the scene) to struggle to get a solve of any kind, let alone a good one. It feels like you're using totally different software (I'm on 18.5 or 18.6 Studio). Is there some kind of magic spell or incantation I'm missing out? I filmed a grid on a concrete floor and it couldn't even figure that out yet in this video you got it to work with normal landscape shot from a moving vehicle and it seemed to work without any huge effort.
Super appreciate the in-depth video! But could you please check your captions before adding them to the video? I assume when creators upload caption files (instead of UA-cam's auto-captions) that they will be correct, but it's pretty clear that these were also auto-generated. "at Indoventu Resolve" 😂 The line length is also super super short which makes it a bit hard to follow. thank you so much 🙏 Anyway, I can't believe masking the camera tracker was *literally* as easy as applying a mask to the tracker! Thank you for including that! I was looking for a tutorial for that exact situation and expected it to be much more difficult for some reason. Thanks!
Best video that answers my questions about camera tracking, i am sick of tracking in blender. can i export this to an .fbx and the use it insdie blender?
How can I do for .PNG archives. I wanna track a logo but is necessary to add something in 3D as I can see the text3D which is reasonable. What else should I add to follow a logo in the cameratracker?
We have been trying to use the camera tracking features but DR keeps crashing out. Any suggestions to help make it work? Running on an i9 CPU with 64 GB of RAM.
What if we don’t want to do anything with 3D? What if we just want to apply the camera movement to another video in or to mimic the way the camera shakes and moves around and stuff?
It seems to be tracking way to slowly for me I have a 3090 a Ryzen 5900 and it's been 10 minutes it's tracked only the first frame on drone footage from a DJI mini 3
Hi I need help... every time i Press Solve when using 3d camera tracker on DR it says "Solved Failed: not enough tracks- mathematically, there must be atleast 8 tracks in common between consecutive frames to reconstruct the camera motion.........etc...." Why wont it let me solve even though there are like 1400 tracking points?
Maybe there's a frame in your clip where it couldn't track 8 of the same points from the previous frame even though there was a total of 1400 tracking points found in the entire video.
Anyone know why the green dots wouldn’t be showing up for me? Preview auto track location is checked. No dots on landscape. Even have darken image checked too.
The ground plane clearly didn't work tho. It was not even remotely in line with the ground... Sad, given it was the one thing I was looking this up for.
🔥🔥THANKS FOR WATCHING! To learn more about the other trackers in the Fusion page, WHATCH THIS: ua-cam.com/video/RHDT_c_SZXo/v-deo.html
Thank you! Explaining how things work without rushing and yet not taking forever is not easy and you sir nailed it. Now I love the camera tracker.

This is the 4th vídeo about camera tracker I watched. And the first that really explained things. Thanks a lot.

how can we export this 3d cam data as fbx for crossplatform softwares
waiting for answers too!!

@@jorgetisera22 nah, blender's own camera tracker gave me 0.07px and i was shocked and never came back to davinci's tracker.

Dumb question - how are you zooming out in the merge 3d node? Great tutorial!
Can you add multiple instances of 3D text within a instance of the camera tracker?

No matter what or how many track points I select, clicking Set ground plane errors out with "0 locators selected"🤷♂️
Hey Jay... great video.. This is one thing that I have never done. Need to get in and play with the camera tracker.
Tha is William! I avoided it for a long time because I wasn't doing any 3D work or VFX. Now that I am its become a staple of my workflow.

What's the purpose of exporting the ground plane if we use the origin point anyway for attaching objects into our scene?
Awesome Vid as always . I so much enjoy learning from you. Mind me asking were you are located ? Ontario Canada here . Keep up the great work

thank you, I've been waiting for this video
Great video, your way of explaining things is masterful.
Been dying for this video it's pretty confusing to use even watching basic tutorials
this is awesome for VFX scene composition tricks

Furst thanks i need it. I Am a beginner . Camera tra in my fusion 18.6 is not availebel in resolve. I have to up graid.
What do i wrong?
How can I stabilize my footage by camera tracker?
Really detailed. Thanks!
No problem! Thanks so much for watching!!
Thanks Jay! I'm subscribing right away! This helped me a lot.
What if we don’t want to do anything with 3D? What if we just want to apply the camera movement to another video in or to mimic the way the camera shakes and moves around and stuff?
You can use the Planar tracker for copying the movement to another video, and the camera shake effect or a perturb modifier for a handheld effect.
Thank you! Subscribed. Great explanation

me too. no preview of track locations show up...
Thanks for sharing
Okay, but what if I don't want to apply the motion to a text object, but to a seperate clip?
Same process!
@@JayLippman You mean you would drag the clip from media pool and connect it to the Merge3D1? Or is another node required?
