Actually, I ended up getting this one instead. I watched this review and you convinced me to get this one, I was going to get another one but it must of been to popular because it wouldn't have been delivered till Apr 15, so I got this one instead. $350
Just ordered one of these and it shows up in a couple days cant wait! Upgrading from a 27" 1080p 144hz acer predator with a TN panel. I know the response time will be 3-4 mhz slower but I mainly play WoW/Diablo/Warcraft and some single player games so hoping higher resolution and 7 extra inches of screen make as much of a difference as I think it will.
Has no height adjustment. After you remove that plastic piece, it's like cocked and spring loaded to extend all the way up the second you try to push it down. So if you lost that plastic piece good luck repackaging it 😬
yo! in Australia the Asus Tuff monitor you reviewed the other day goes for $800 Australian dollars while this Gigabyte one goes for $560, the Asus one is considerably more expensive here so I'm looking forward to the full review to see if its worth the extra money
I just picked this up for my new ps5. I’m upgrading from an old tv and pa4 (duh lol) and this is also my first monitor ever so idk what to expect. I splayed at my friends who had a wide monitor and loved it, hope this is as good as everyone says for someone who knows nothing about monitors lol. Great review mate !!
How did nobody reply to this message to help the guy out smh. This monitor for a ps5 is bad. PS5 doesnt support 1440p this monitor is 1440p. It doesnt have hdmi 2.1 and its a 144hz monitor ps5 cant do 144hz.. So this monitor downscales to 1080p 60hz on ps5 so it will look horrible.
I would say go on the gigabyte because its quite the same, the only difference is the refresh rate but there is inverse ghosting on the asus. We'll see in the full review if were going to see it but if you watch review like rtings they don't specify any ghosting on the g34wqc
The Asus uses a different panel with good pixel responsiveness for a VA. It is a really good monitor. It also covers 90% DCI-P3, where as I think the Gigabyte manages 87%. One of its drawbacks is the narrower color space. The Asus is brighter, and I like Asus support with their longer time in the monitor arena. Gigabyte is still pretty new to this. All that said, if you have an Nvidia video card, get the Gigabyte. The Asus has strange ghosting that users with Nvidia cards have noted. With AMD, I don't notice any of those issues. There is the usual VA ghosting, but it's not as bad as previous VA panels I've used at high refresh rates. The colors are quite good. I can give a quick breakdown of settings I use if anyone is interested. I use it for graphic design and photography as well. It's good enough for this with far better black levels than IPS, and $300 cheaper than the cheapest LG alternative. The LG has 98% DCI-P3 coverage, but less than 1000:1 contrast. I love the Asus monitor more each day I use it. And in normal gaming scenarios, I don't notice ghosting because it's just not that big a deal. Some people will probably be more sensitive to it. But I've had none of the red/green. AMD uses FreeSync, while Nvidia is using Adaptive Sync, which is not the same. FreeSync is AMD's proprietary implementation of Adaptive Sync. They've had longer to refine and perfect it. Nvidia is also not listing this among their supported monitors as far as I know. Hopefully, everyone can pressure Asus to put out a firmware update to help with the issues. There's also a chance Nvidia could fix them with a driver update on their side. Here's hoping!
@@abelthomas5593 It comes down to the video card you have at the moment. If Asus or Nvidia addresses this, then that might change. I'm loving the monitor myself, but I have a 500 series card. I was going to upgrade my video card, but then the techpocalypse happened.
I purchased this monitor for working remotely and went from 29 inch to 34 inch monitor. And while it is very wide and would have been awesome for viewing two pages side by side, the monitor is short at 13 inches versus the 29 inch monitor which is 15 inches tall. Sadly, I will be returning this. Just another FYI, the color seems faded, not sure if this is a setting that can be adjusted but for the money, I don't think it's worth it.
Great vid n content as always. Can u compare this with a newcomer neotez aquilla 34 inch. Is the Gigabyte or Neotez ok for productivity also?(excell, words, presentations). Support PIP and PBP?
"A power connector for UK, for US and then uhm...I don't really know where this is"....try Europe. That sounded a bit snobish tbh, even thou you probably didn't mean it.
I too have the asus, it is a great monitor, impressive colours, blacks and contrast, the only problem is that with nvidia cards with g-sync enabled some games will suffer from flickering
@@mikehcl ahh, and am planning on getting the Rtx 3080, at scalper price 😔 to take advantage of the 144hz and 1440p, only to hear flickering, is there no fix?

Thanks so much!
Yes! Been waiting for a review before buying this monitor! :) Let's go!

so this monitor doesn't have a huge power brick like some other monitors? because i am leaning on getting this monitor
It does not, just a usual 3 pin cable... I own one, came from a 32" 2k basic flat screen, this thing is awesome:))
能同时开启10bit和144hz吗
My picture mode won’t work
Great review, can this monitor be used to play with Play Station?
