I didn't know the Michaels of the 90's but the one I met in the 00's made it worth meeting one of my favorite wrestlers. He did a book signing. Instead of getting up and leaving when the autograph time was finished, he stayed an extra hour to say hi to every fan in line.

He and Nash were on record the lowest drawing WWE champions of their era. They only got themselves and each other over.

This means there is no attitude Era Shawn Michaels and HHH Created the Attitude Era Shortly Before Steve Austin became the face of the Company. So let's speak In facts and truth Dx was the founding Father's of the Attitude Era. Michaels was the Best In Ring performer of all time. Best BabyFace/ Heel of all time.. As far as Shawn's return it's kinda funny he came back to in ring action when his contract came up and he wasnt sitting at home making that free money anymore. Vince had booked that as a 3 PPV feud. Match 1 Hogan goes over, match two Michaels, match 3 Hogan. I will always look you in your eye and tell you I am The Ring General. I'm The Man around here now. Like it or not, I call the shots. You choose me and you will always be one step BEHIND ME. I'll tell you to your face like a man. Will Shawn? No, he won't. He'll say one thing, then turn on ya. He can't help it Kev. That's how he is. It's what he always does. I won't lie to you and say this isn't a difficult decision. Because it is. But remember this, the most success YOU HAVE HAD in your career, and the most success I've had in my career, was when we FINALLY WALKED AWAY FROM HIM!"
95: Diesel and HBK split. Diesel becomes the first member of Kliq to be world champ. One of the longest reigns as champion.
96: Diesel is the First Kliq member to work Undertaker at a WM.
96: Left WWF for WCW, for bigger money, co-founded the nWo and a new level of fame erupted.
HHH 97: Perceived by casual fans as HBK's lackey.
HHH 98: Once the proverbial leash was taken off his neck showed he was really the engineer behind DX while HBK was the poster boy getting most of the recognition. Once he officially took over as leader, the group skyrocketed in popularity and trumped everything he and HHH that five months in 97-98 as a duo. The quartet had epic rivalries, skits, matches,.titles, and made loads of money dragging the company out of the war. Austin didn't do it by himself.
HHH 99-01 Because the 3rd Kliq member to become world champ. But the first dominant heel champion the WWF, breaking from tradition where they usually have the good guy be the face of a franchise. Carried Austin and Rock into unwordly levels of iconic status that some would argue surpassed Hogan. Becomes the 2nd Kliq member to work Undertaker at WM.
And HBK did reveal in his book (both the DX one and the Wrestling for my life) his jealousy about HHH'S success during that time. And during Nash's HOF induction finally admitted he also was jealous of Nash getting the strap before him.
He later went on to say he was both jealous of them, but happy for them at the same time.
If you believe Nash on how competitive HBK is, then it's possible for him to be both. Be proud of his boys personally. But also envy them professionally.

I might be wrong but going on Rocky Johnson’s interview the incident was this was based on HBK giving Sweet Chin Music to The Rock during a referee match with Triple H that The Rock wasn’t happy about how hard he was kicked which would be 2000. I know about the initial disrespect shown by HBK earlier in his career but this must be the best kept secret in wrestling if it happened after 2002. If someone knows better tell me as onscreen they didn’t cross paths other than when HBK made the save with Triple H and Brock was involved. Offscreen never heard this before if after 2002.

HBK never had a "fused" spine, in fact his whole back injury is debatable all together. Many who wrestled with him at the time didn't believe it and the way Shawn came back and as still kipping up and flipping over ropes, moonsaulting etc like a 25 year old made a mockery of the idea he had a "stiff back". The whole back injury was more likely just a cover for the fact Michaels needed time off to deal with his cocaine and ecstasy habit as he was turning up to work wasted every week.

But those same exact fans say fk all of nothing about the undertaker and Shawn's match. Not a hint, not a whisper nor a word. Same is true for the Owen Hart and Steve Austin match. Nobody brings up Rick rudes name whenever sting is talked about. It took me like 5 minutes to decide to use d'los name in this post but I just decided to because with the exception of Darren drozdoff all of those men were VETERANS that made HUGE mistakes. • @onewarriornation602
      @onewarriornation602 Рік тому

I get what you're saying and pretty much agree. That said, most people don't bring up the Michaels/Undertaker match because deep down even the fanboys know it was bullshit. Go re watch it. Michaels back never hits the casket ND his hip barely grazed it. He never at any point right after the match said anything about his back being destroyed and needing surgery.
No, instead he suddenly brought it up when Vince told him he was jobbing to Austin at WM. Suddenly his back was destroyed from "hitting the casket" he never hit and "I need immediate surgery." It was losing his smile, the concussion and the fake knee injury all over again.
As for Sting/Rude, it's not brought up because it was so long ago and a freak accident.
Owen was brought up as dangerous in the ring until he died, then all was forgiven.
Bret won't let the Goldberg accident go, and the estrogen filled Beta marks all hate Goldberg for not being a 135lb gymnast so they refuse to let it go either. It's not right, but it's the world we live in.

There's proof of the surgery. I doubt he did it to keep up appearances. He was able to wrestle by 2000. But his issues kept him out of WWE until '02
EDIT: Notice that from Royal Rumble '98 til WM14 Shawn didn't wrestle at all in the buildup to the match with Austin. Then watch the match with at WM14. As the match goes on Shawn's posture stiffens up and he can barely climb to the top rope. I believe he was hopped up on pain killers for that match.

    • @onewarriornation602

@@Lord_Bibulous Better go rewatch that match with Undertaker. At no point in the match does his lower back make contact with the casket. His hip barely, BARELY grazed it not even to the point of an impact injury.
He barely Wrestled because he told Vince he was done doing jobs and "helping to put people over." Vince had to fully pivot to Austin and do whatever it took to force Michaels to job the belt.
Again, at no point did Michaels say anything at all about a back injury until Vince told him Austin was the guy moving forward and Shawn would be putting him over. It was at that point Austin claimed his back was broke and started trying to get out of the match.
Funny how a guy with a "broken back" leave the WWF and immediately starts a wrestling school where he is taking bumps with students every day. Not to mention doing matches in his Texas Indy Fed in 1999.
There's zero evidence of any back injury or supposed surgery. Shit, there's more evidence of the Loch Ness Monster than there is of Michaels ever injuring his back.
Fact is, Vince told him Austin was the top guy moving forward and yet again Michaels faked an injury to get out of doing the job. That failed and he "retired" instead of putting people over until Austin was on the way out and then miraculously one day his non-existent back injury healed itself and he made his grand return to the WWE to continue his career of not drawing money and burying superior talent.

HBK had to wait probably a lot longer than he should have to get the I believe it was the WWF championship he was near the top of almost every list for best wrestler of the year best feud of the year and was super over and here comes this new guy who only started wrestling a about a year earlier because he failed as a football player and you have his grandma telling the owner of the show he should take the belt off this guy who's been busting his ass for years and put it on her grandson who wasn't popular at all to get him over ... How are you supposed to react when that news get's back to you because I don't know maybe I'm just a massive jerk but if a new 20 to 25 year old came into my job with his grandma saying he should have my job I'd laugh at her I wouldn't even bother to hold it in because that's how ridiculous it would be ... So was HBK a prick ... I'm sure he was but in this particular situation I think he was completely in the right and if anything it was The Rocks ego that ruined any chance of them working together

Lot of hate on here for HBK. Shawn is the best wrestler of all time. Nobody was doing the kip up at the time Shawn was doing it which only added to his legacy. Did he not want to do jobs sometimes sure you can make an argument but I know he’s jobbed for razor and diesel in back to back WM’s. Shawn’s run was nwo he had to go against which was blazing hot and the end was the rise of Austin who wasn’t a better wrestler than Michaels and even Austin says Michaels is one of the greatest of all time!

Your timeline is wrong, he is not the first to kip up, and brets work stands the test of time, while hbk looks goofy as hell

Sounds like a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Seriously, it’s so catty! Put yourself training hours daily with the same type of person, wanting to do same thing professionally, & people WILL try to knock you down if they see you as a threat no matter industry to move up.
