Finally a f'in segment on golf in Pattaya ! People across the globe don't realize that Chon Buri is a golfing mecca in Asia ! It's about time DAZ ,thanks buddy !
Shhh, your supposed to keep it a secret, 😊 I came to Thailand 17 years ago for the nightlife. I’ve come back every year since for the golf. With the closing of Lewinski’s and The Golf Club on Soi LK (RIP Steve) there is a big void in the Pattaya/Jomtien golf society’s for an American run group.
@@HiFiMRY Exactly! My first trip was in 17'. Spent a few times at the Golf Club and Steve was one of the coolest guys I met the whole time. When he heard it was my first time, he made it a great night and the drinks were flowing. RIP buddy
@@HiFiMRY RIP Steve. I golfed many times there and will be in Jomtien January looking to get out. I have clubs at a buddies house on the dark side so it will be a blast at the beach bar
This is exactly what I been looking for, me and my mate are in town for the month of January, I will hire a set of clubs for the month and have several rounds, brilliant, 😊
Never been a golf enthusiast maybe the crazy golf . friends of mine love golf so I will show them your video and maybe they'll get to visit Thailand .thanks for the video matey .
Excellent video and as a golfer hoping to come over there this was the info I needed! He seems like such a great guy and has everything set up and well planned out!
Hope this is still going on when I get there. I'm hoping to move to Jomtien next Spring and would enjoy golfing once or twice a week and making some new friends.
Hi Greg, I think this is a great video and promising a better experience vs all the other cookie cutter golf societies. Questions: - how much do you charge for club storage? - do you club rentals? - be interesting to understand your fee over and above what the course charges or do you have that in your charge? - what days do you have these events? do you do weekends? I will be there soon, be great to hook up with a good golf society. Thanks
This is a great setup really interested to find out more im out in jomtien in april staying a jomtien boathouse so would like to find out more thank you
I recently spent just short of 3 months in the Pattaya area. I golfed a LOT moving around between courses. We were always out on the courses early to avoid the heat. There are lots of deals available. There are also a lot of restaurants / bars that organize golf or sailing events. (I also sailed a lot from the Ocean Marina). But, please be aware that this is a totally different culture than what you will find at the downtown "girly" bars which is what Daz usually focuses on. For one thing, everything is more expensive, including the girls, but with that added cost comes quality.
I'll be in Pattaya next month Daz. Are they still doing the golf at the Beach Spot, are they successful with it? Have you thought about doing a Vlog at the Travelers Rest? Trev from Buzzin Pattaya walk past it last week and it seems like a very concentrated place just for golf. Also which Hemingway Bar was he talking about? There seems to be 2 of them in that area. Please let me know, thanks 😊.
Good video Daz. I have no interest in golf but it's not about me. A lot of my friends love it. = I will share & send the URL to others that go every weekend 👍🏻
I dont want to bring my clubs to Thailand and I dont want to buy a new set in Thailand. Most places have a rental set available. Is that something they offer?
Well it all sounds good, but you never mentioned anything about the cost of everything to go on one of his golf course trips? I guess we have to contact him, he should have a Website if he’s serious about this!
Hi Roy, the point of reference for anyone in Pattaya, is the Pattaya Sports Club (a government association), they publish rates for all Pattaya courses. So whatever that PSC says, then whatever is over and above is the golf society premium.
I have been to many golf societies in Pattaya and I now golf with friends that have settled there. Positives: - get to meet people of like interest - it all organized for you, just show up - drinks and socialize post golf with the group Negatives - all golf societies use the same blue/grey color vans that seat 7 persons and it is usually very cramp, very unpleasant if your course is 45 to 60 minutes away - new golfers/tourists that want to experience golf in Asia, this occasionally happens and they tend to hold up the speed of play - club rentals are pricey and generally not high quality, OK for an occasional golf but I suggest you bring your own clubs - the added time to a total day outing: meeting at an appointed time; waiting for your tee off time; waiting for the return bus, can add 2 hours per outing vs arranging to go alone or a small group, since the introduction of the Bolt taxi app, the costs in $ and time are are things to consider This is my opinion from my experiences, I would be interested in what others think.
@@christies123 Yes, I think it is little known but the Asia Pattaya Hotel has a 9 hole par 27 course. I have played there twice before, not just a pitch and putt but is should sharpen you short game. The rates may have changed but the times I played there, it was cheap. The conditions are excellent and generally no one is there. I just left Pattaya and I had considered to stay there a week, as I am a virtual worker, it seem attractive to play some golf in the morning and sit beside the pool and work but the lure of staying near Soi Buakhoao won over LOL.
Agree went at xmas for my first time.didnt bring clubs.huge mistake.the rentals are shocking as you said.best rentals were chee chan but a little bit pricey.worth it though
@@hkdaddy3326 Thanks ,I prefer to walk around and really enjoyed playing Phuket County club a few years ago where we walked with the caddies and it was more relaxed and a laugh. Buggies always make it a bit rushed for me.I will give that 9 hole a try next time I'm over that way.
@@christies123 Hi, not sure when was the last time your were in Pattaya but all golf courses are on single ride carts (hugh improvement vs previously, two riders and two caddies in the back) and it is a lot of fun. As in between shots you can be drinking a beer under shade and talking to the caddie in the cart, in particular the cute ones. Also, I find in most courses, the distance between holes is such that you can walk and assess your next shot, so it does speed up the game for yourself and those in front of you. Not to mention, walking a course in Thailand sun and heat limits your beer intake. I believe it is much more fun then a few years ago.
Bars and girls are fun but not all the time. Thank you for showing other options. Any chance of a video about the paramotor club and school in Pattaya? I think it’s called Paramotor Thailand. I fly in the states and would like to there also. I would think sailing might also be popular.
PLEASE NOTE....Greg and his other investors have sold up at the beach spot. They are no longer here. Don't waste your time coming here looking for golf. You will only get an unsmiling, sour look from the girl behind the counter.
