Privileged to have heard Simon many times at the annual ATOS conventions. A week of what the Chicago Tribune music critic opined after witnessing the debut of the magnificent Chicago Stadium Barton: "It was as if even the most ardent lover of chocolate soda were hurled into a swimming pool filled with it!"
An outstanding performance on a fabulous organ recorded by arguably the best recording engineer when it comes the pipe organ. Congratulations to Simon on a superb performance and to Jim for capturing the beauty of this instrument. It's hard to believe this was done almost 30 years ago.
In the 90's I visited this magnificent theatre and organ........full house with Rudolf Nureyev ......VIP guest and champagne...and the organ used as well.......any Wurlitzer freaks...........just listen to this BARTON with Simon getting all those magnificent sounds out of it........
Do you think so? Interesting. I admire Bryan’s playing greatly but can’t hear much in this arrangement or use of the organ that reminds me of his approach. Maybe a bit in “This Can’t Be Love”, although I never heard Bryan play that song.
Great sounding hall. Really does this organ justice

Legend!!!
This professional recording was done by Jim Stemke during the convention, and initially released on cassette only.
Too bad it never was re-released on CD or other superior digital format. The organ has never sounded better, IMHO.
Super excellent
With very good video
Colossal
Bryan Rodwell all over this.....and why not?
