I love the "chat" format! I often look for listenable youtube videos for while I'm working or cleaning or whatever, this gives me something other than true crime to look forward to 😄
Thanks for the reminder that there are stylish affordable options. Sometimes I get caught up in the hype and the truth is I love finding something special at the thrift shop soooo much! Some Muji containers or Daiso containers would work really well in that wood toolbox. Thanks for sharing
I enjoyed this first Stationery Chat, and I hope you do more. I love when you review and show products along with informative commentary. I attended your TN workshop. That was fun. You were marvelous.
Thanks for starting to do this sort of chat. I enjoyed it. I'm glad you have a Daniel Smith palette. I've not tried many other brands but I use them exclusively...mostly because I live 20 min from where they are made. I've had 2 factory tours. Until November of 2021 there was a wonderful store there, too, that offered so many good demonstrations and classes. Noodlers Bulletproof takes a long time to dry. When I'm out Urban Sketching, the ink has to dry really fast. Both Platinum Carbon Black and DeAtramentis Document inks dry within in about 5 minutes and do not move at all with water. I recently started having trouble with the Lamy pens skipping when filled with Carbon Black. I've used it happily for a decade. Maybe the formula changed or I have a subpar bottle? I switched to Document Black and all is well. Also, Brie of Documented Journey and the Founder of Urban Sketchers, Gabi Campanario, use ballpoint pen to sketch. It is completely waterproof. I did learn that some are archival and some not. Gabi has liked Bic Chrystal pens. Very cheap and they do work well but not archival. Brie uses Ballograph, which is.
I love your stationery collection! And the inks… ❤️ I use Rohrer & Klingner sketch ink in colour sepia, once it’s dry it’s waterproof so great for sketching :) BUT be careful with a clear FP, I have this ink in a Lamy Safari Vista and it stained it!!! And it doesn’t come off (at least with just water as other inks, I don’t want to try alcohol just in case I make it worse… 🥲). Also, careful with the nib too if you’re not going to use this ink very regularly (if you use a syringe, it’ll clog it lol). Other than that it’s the beeeeest waterproof ink I’ve used! (I suppose you know it but just in case: never ever ever ever use india/china ink with FP, you’ll need a new FP 😅)
Platinum Carbon Black doesn't smudge at all actually! You need to let it dry properly for sure. I would really recommend it for watercolour. I keep it in my Preppy and it doesn't dry out in there long term either, I know some people are scared of that. I didn't have a chance to try R&K Sketch inks yet, but they're on my wish list.
My experience with waterproof inks for watercoloring: I like De Atramentis Document ink the most. It is a little more pigmented than the Carbon ink, also a little more waterproof. The R&K Sketch Inks are nice to work with a brush, I wouldn’t put them in fountain pens though. I forgot the neon pink one in my kakuno, the holes made it dry out, and the ink damaged the nib. There were two spots where the ink literally ate holes into the metal. I also have one in my fude and it tends to dry up more.
I got so excited when I saw your toolbox. It's just what I need for my rustic/retro set up. I was thinking about where to look for one locally and then I remembered I made one in Year 7! Then I remembered I gave it to my brother 🤬 Thank you for the video. I enjoy these chatty ones ❤️❤️
The Carbon ink is great. I recommend the Platinum desk foutain pen it was made to use that ink and uses the carbon ink cartridges. The pen comes in EF nib and is funny looking, but for $10.00 it works. Loving the watercolor journal spreads😊
Yay! I loved seeing all the new stuff. Sad to hear about the tote as it is not cheap! Love the VV find as well, it’s a perfect journaling caddy. Thanks so much for the shoutout!!
Great video! Can I ask where you found additional small watercolor pans to fit in the Traveler’s Company palette? I want to utilize the empty space in the palette to add additional colors.
I have one of those magnets (different design) - I used it as jewelry - now I am going to put it on my TN insert (don't know what its called - canvas with a zipper pouch on one side and flap covered pocket on the other)
Loved this Job! I would love to know your opinion on trends and what you are on board with and what you are not that keen on. Thanks for sharing with us! X
I think zebra released 2 versions of the mildliner natural set... alot of the usa places have mild copper instead of that pink... I like the copper alot but am considering buying the pink in that set on jetpend
loved this video! also glad you got a partial refund for the tote, shipping was a bit insulting tbh when it was defective! i saw one of those wooden boxes at my local tk maxx.. now i might have to go back for it.... lol
platinum carbon works great and doesn't smudge if you let it dry long enough. Be careful with Rohrer and Klingner, they leave a sediment in your pen that's hard to clean out and it clogs your nib over time, never had that problem with platinum carbon. Also platinum has a blue version that's really nice, as does Sailor
I loved this video! I want one of everything lol. That’s a shame about the tote, I think they should have offered a full refund or replacement, but at least they offered something. I love the tool box, it’s such a great idea for displaying and carrying around journaling items. Thanks for sharing! 💜💜
May I also please ask where you got the gekkoso paints from? I've tried searching for those colors and can't seem to find them anywhere in the states :/
Hey job!! Just wanted to ask real quickly whether you got those exact watercolors in the pans? They look exactly like the ones on that sheet illustration. I would love to get these same colors too!
I loved that syllabus!! So cute! Omg use those expensive supplies who cares?! I literally don’t know anything about watercolors and use shminke! It was like $300 🤣 but I’ve had it for 6 years and not even a dent! Use those supplies!! My most budge-proof ink for drawing is document ink from deatrementis. Omg ugh that twsbi is cute 🥹 but I just bought the sailor line like a week ago, do I need another pen?!?!?
Love it, and would love to see more like this👏👏👏👏
I really appreciate your candid thoughts about the tote. I think there's too much unsaid because of the 'aesthetic' and everybody has it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love the "chat" format! I often look for listenable youtube videos for while I'm working or cleaning or whatever, this gives me something other than true crime to look forward to 😄
I would love to own that Mildliner set. colors are so nice!! 😍

Great video! I like this series a lot, looking forward to future videos!
Thanks so much Naomi!!!!
Enjoyed this, and would love to see more like this.
Aww thanks so much! Thanks for watching, Kathryn!

I really enjoyed this! Including the skincare as well 😗
Love the video idea, Job! Use those nice watercolors! Your paintings are absolutely worthy!!!
Enjoyed this! And that watercolor kit is too cute… consider me enabled 😆
Love this idea! Looking forward to more of these 🥰

I use de atramentis document ink with my water colors and Tombow wateer markers and it doesnt smear.

Thanks for sharing, Job! I love this chatty format!
The tote does look very lux, at least the company actually did refund you some of it.
I’m just getting into fp inks. Mostly have just samples, diamine, and sailor. Should I not get noodlers?

I use De Atrementis Document Inks and their Artists Inks in my fountain pen for sketching. They dry fast and do not budge with watercolors.
The way you wrote "kotn" in Arabic is so good! I'm impressed ;)
Love this series idea!! Maybe talk about what you do when you goof up on a spread?

The Rohrer and Klingner sketchinks work really well with watercolour and fountainpens. 💕
I got my iridescent twsbi last week and love it!

aww I loved this and totally recognized a few of these new stationery items! :D

Where is the tote from? Do u have a link?

Aww thanks Sasha! Looove that wooden tool box and if I found that earlier, I would've passed on the tote! Thanks for watching!
Loved this new concept Job! I love the look of your studio absent tote, but it’s a shame to hear about the trouble you’ve been having with it though 😫
Thank you for your review. I very much like your channel.
Thanks for watching!

Awesome, thank you so much!
Hey job!! Just wanted to ask real quickly whether you got those exact watercolors in the pans? They look exactly like the ones on that sheet illustration. I would love to get these same colors too!
I made the sheet that's why it's the exact palette! You can pause at 4:01 to read all the paints used!
@@JobsJournal thank you! May I please ask where you purchased the gekkoso paints too?
