For some browns, Teranishi Nostalgic Honey is a golden, rich brown, Diamine Antique Copper is brownish and gorgeous just for itself, and regular Kaweco Caramel Brown is a lovely medium warm brown that shades nicely (but is very readable) even with a F nib Kaweco pen. That’s it on my browns, too… 😅 Also, I’ve heard that a needle tip teeny drop of dish soap, like Dawn, in a dry ink will make it much less dry. Also, there’s a product called “White Lightening” that will do the same thing…you can find it on fountain pen store websites…I forget who makes it.
aaah thank you for sharing! I'd never actually heard of Teranishi before. will check out their inks! :) I recently got a bottle of Diamine Cherry Sunburst and it's such a stunning reddish-brown!! as for white lightning, I'm not sure if it's accessible for me currently, but I'll experiment with dish soaps if the dryness gets too annoying 👀🤍
@ Good luck! Cherry Sunburst is unfamiliar to me, but I’ll have to check it out cause I love a good reddish brown! Diamine makes so many gorgeous (and well behaved) inks! They’re probably the majority of inks listed on my “want to get a sample and try” list. Even nicer is they are pretty inexpensive as far as inks go, at least in the US, and easily available. You might want to check on the fountain pen subreddit or a techie UA-cam site about the dish soap amount to the ink (or any other good solutions for a dry ink…or a dry nib?) Might want to put some ink in a sample bottle and experiment, just in case!
You MUST try Noodler's Baystate Blue! You would L-O-V-E it the most-est-est-est! 😊 It 'pops' off the paper in a way no other ink of any color does to the point where every single reviewer always says their camera doesn't really do the effect of the color exploding off the paper, justice. It's like pure liquified Cobalt pigment, almost. Also, Noodler's Black and TWSBI Black are among the 'blackest of the blacks' when you put swatches of all the blacks on the market, side by side. Be well and keep up the good work. 👍
I must admit, I'm a little scared of Baystate Blue 🤭I've read that it's super high staining and, well, I'm a little forgetful when it comes to cleaning out my pens. (also not particularly graceful). buuut who knows, maybe I'll get a sample at some point! it's very beautiful! otherwise, I'll make sure to add TWSBI Black to my wishlist. thank you so much! 🤍
hmm, I have not! I really should though, because the color change is quite jarring. so I'm curious if it holds up better in other notebooks. I'll report back! 😅💖
Monboddos Hat lives in my Lamy 2000.. for years now. Fun vid!
I also inked up one of my Kaweco Sports with the Hat... absolutely loving it :) thank you so much!

I don't know why I fought against Monboddos Hat for so long, when a shop gave me a free sample I was so surprised at how much I love it!
right?! it is really one of a kind 🤍
ik you weren't thrilled with it, but this made me wanna try scented inks 😂 have you ever tried it on different paper? does it still bleed through? 👀
