Fantastic DIY, Thank you for sharing
Thank you...
It's my pleasure
something more powerful with 18650 batteries?
You sir are part mad scientist part artist. Thank you.
Thank you
perfect thanks sharing
My pleasure.
would like to make solar wall lights-indoor so are there bigger lights and panels on the provided websites what are your suggestions to make this happen?

fantastic and easy project
Thank You
Ok so your use the inductor to incrase tve voltage but for how much? If i want to powered an arduino can i use the same solar panel but with 3 AAA in parallel and then a inductor ? Or i should use a regulator step up to 5v
If you had added a 1N4048 diode and a 104 cap it will run a flashing LED.
My video will show you how.
You should have used a blocking diode from neg to pos on your solar panel.
Without the diode, the panel will draw power from the cell at night.
Put everything INSIDE the jar and seal it with silicone and the acid in the rain will not degrade the epoxy panel....YOU DID IT UPSIDE-DOWN !!!!!
Silver solder a short piece of copper pipe to a washer and JB Weld it to the jar lid.
Then lead solder it with a coupling to another 3' of copper pipe for a ground stake.
It will all be sealed tight, no water can damage anything, just clean the top every so often.
I duct tape the inside bottom and tape the outside and sandblast the jar to frost it.
That leaves the bottom clear glass for the panel. The bottom will become the top
Nice, maybe diode from solar panel to circuit..
Hi! I was very eager to make some of these lamps. Now that my parts are finally in, I can start building.. On the breadboard, everything works flawless. But once I solder it to the PCB (your design from JLCPCB) it doesnt work anymore. I tried troubleshooting. When I solder only the LED to the PCB and test with the other components on the breadboard, its still flawless.
When I add the inductor to the PCB and test the inductor with all other components (also LED) on the breadboard, it still works fine. But when I use both PCB Led and inductor (wiring directly from the LED and inductor contactors to the breadboard), the light intensity goes down to almost invisible. With my limited understanding of the electric scheme I can imagine I make a mistake somewhere with the extra circuit when testing the components. But the bigger picture is that still after my 4th attempt it isnt working yet
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Can you just share the pictures of your assembled PCB to my email ? opengreenenergy@gmail.com
I am really sorry for the inconveniences caused to you.
Were you able to fix the issue?
@@johnb9271 unfortunately I wasn't. I think there was an error in the circuit board, but didn't manage to find it. In the end I made a compact design on a prototyping board myself. Took some more soldering time, but still works like a charm. The electric scheme works fine though, there's nothing wrong with that!
@@jackwever88 I want to make these for some home diy projects. You think the problem was an individual pcb problem? You think im still good to use them?
@@johnb9271 I ordered 10 of them, and tried multiple ones, none of them worked unfortunately. Maybe it was a faulty batch, but I couldn't make them work.
Hi, Can you make the project available in easyeda?
Hello! Amazing video and would surely try out this project! I would like to ask you if you have plans to create the MPPT solar charge controller version 4. Eagerly waiting for that project from your side :)
i have a solar outdoor light from the store but the battery is small but it's the same circuit diagram as yours
nice
Hello, can you give me the file of the pcb boards?, thanks
Hey Nice DIY Debasis. big thumbs up!
Chinmay Das Thank You!
Hi. Your project is amazing. Thanks for sharing it.
I am having an issue and couldn't resolve it so far. I am using exactly the same parts and PCB except the LED which is slightly different as it has 150 ma current rating (3V 0.5W). I think you use 100-120ma LED but I couldn't find it.
If I use one 1.3V battery, the LED does not light up. If I use 2 batteries, LED lights up but as expected the IC gets really hot (its max is 1.5V). I think the Joule Thief circuit is not working for me with 1 battery but not sure if it is due to different LED or something else?
Appreciate your help with this as I have made a lot of emotional investment with this project!
Can you send few pictures to my email

@@opengreenenergy sir please teach me the design of the circuit, For school project , I need help
I'm from Philippines sir
can a lithium ion battery be used, like from a cell phone? if so, does the mAh matter for the solar panel used?
The ic used in the PCB can accept max 2V, so a lithium ion battery (4.2V ) can't be used.
Where's the PCB board for the project, or do I have to design my own. I'm not good designing the efficient boost circuit needed, especially since it also has to protect the battery from over discharge.
The QX5252 is a boost IC ( kind of joule thief) which requires only one external inductor to do the job. Moreover it can auto detect when its dark using the solar cellwhich ot slso uses to charge the battery. It also claims to have battery over discharge protection. It's a all in one package which is basically used in modern chinese solar garden lights. Datasheet is usually in Chinese but you can find the pin out.
Buy a dollar store circuit, 60x60 mm solar panel and what LEDs you want.
I have videos on how to make RGB LEDs run in that circuit
I Like it!!
How do I order your PCB. don't see any reference to your design on jlpcb .... Help Please
Please send me your requirement details to my opengreenenergy@gmail.com
Great work, dude. Welcome back! 😊
where can we get QX5252F in india?
hello you did not mention which 47 uH Inductor?? there is 47 uH Inductor with 1/4 W and 0.5 W also 1W so which one you use??
1/2 watt but 1/4 watt also works .
@@opengreenenergy Thank you very much
S
I thought those 0.5w LED's needed 3v to work properly? Surely running from 1.2v rechargeable would mean lower light levels?
.....missed the fact that this is a joule thief circuit - sorry
Good idea
Thank you
Is the battery rechargable ?
Is that gallium?
Hi, any chance you can provide the JLCPCB Gerber file of the PCB you purchase?
I need it too!
How much time does it work
Here is the beautiful Solar fence post lights I like so much: amazon shops sogrand
jlcpcb does not sell these boards. Can you share you the gerber file for the part?
awsm👌👌, circuit diagram bro ,plz
Hi man, i am currently having a trouble with the led lasting maybe a couple of hours at 1.2v battery 47 uH. Is there a way to efficient the led's light duration? how much does it last to you? thanks :)
You can try with higher inductance value like 100uH
@@opengreenenergy Thank you!. I have changed it to 94 uH but it only lasts less than two hours and it's only one led. Do you think this is normal?, do I still need to increas inductance?, i'm worried also about the LED intensity to be affected
@@JRO98726 I think it should last longer with this inductance. Can you please try with other LED ??
Thanks a lot!, i just changed the battery and now it's lasting all night using 94uh with a LED decent intensity :)
@@JRO98726 congratulations...
Enjoy with your new light.
id like details of how to order the pcbs,,,i cant find any reference,,
You can order it from PCBWay

Thanks for uploading new video
How to get the kits
hi , how can i contact you ?
Do you have one if these that can power 5v led strip
Andrew Jones there is a very versatile controller on ebay for around $8 that is especially suitable for led strips. It has 4 channels output (with selectable flashing & patterns or static) for rgbww led strips or you can use one channel for a single strip.
Works with nimh, lithium or lead acid batteries of many voltages/cells.
Search in ebay -:"solar regulator 6v 3a light controller"
On QX5252F, 15UH inductor and 1.5V battery. 5V LED strip It should work.Because it is an impulse system
You can also do it this way ua-cam.com/video/1INnhU1Jmfw/v-deo.html
Bhai ye kit kaha & kitme milegi
Do you sell those kits
Very nice PCB .... How much is the import cost?
Great video and thumbnail.
2USD 10Pcs PCB + 7USD cost of delivery
Where's the PCB scheme? to use on a simple PCB
Aero Hobby Prazeres Hey please see my earlier work ,where I have explained everything. This is the PCB upgradation only.

How can I get these ?
Thanks for sharing+me subscribe you 😁😀😁😀
Please put your circuit diagram
Please do and share circuit diagram for that
in my garden light i used 6v solar panel and 3 volt battery for rbg led...now the problem is.....led is running on solar panel also....it doesnot turn off in sunrays....why?????
Are you using the same IC which is shown in this video ?
@@opengreenenergy yx 805 transistor(4legs)
@@opengreenenergy firstly this circuit was used with 1.2vol cell and 0.3 watt led and tiny size solar panel
@@deepsandhu6622 The ic maximum operating voltage is 2V, So i think your ic is not working.
I will suggest to use a 2V and higher current rated solar panel with 1.2V battery.
Bhai muze chahi ye ye pcb
Hello im Santiago Vallejo im from argentina y have a question. How fuji solar panel can charge a 12 Volt batery. You know?
My friend u r hiding technology
Very bore but it was nice OK
