    Just as an FYI when heading electronic components that are sensitive to static electricity you should use a bonded working board and be wearing a bonding wrist strap.

    Good project can you use Mqtt rather than blink. Rain gauge wind speeds and direction would be good too.

    Can you make one that:
    Uses:
    - An arduino uno
    - An arduino wifi/lora (either or...or both) sheild
    - Various Sensors
    Senses:
    - Outdoor Temperature
    - Outdoor Humidity
    - Outdoor Barometric Pressure
    - Wind speed and direction
    - dew point (Via math of pressure, humidity, and temperature)
    - rainfall
    - solar radiation/irridance (via solar panel power in, and math)
    It would be a big project, but would be intresting and useful!

    Love this project. Just ordered my boards, all other parts are here waiting for build. Can't wait. Any progress on adding wind speed / direction and rain gauges? Also, anyone modify to upload data to wunderground or one of the other similar sites?

    Excellent job! I had a question regarding the antenna. Any idea if it would be possible to plug a dual band WIFI antenna rather than the 2.4GHz that they sell with the Wemos D1 mini pro?

    Does the board go into deep sleep mode to preserve battery? Also how long can the station run without sun? Also can a Co2 sensor be added? Finally why not use an LiFePO4 battery instead as it is safer and more robust than a Li-ion?

    • @opengreenenergy
      @opengreenenergy  4 роки тому +2

      Yes it goes in to sleep mode to preserve battery.
      Yes Co2 sensor can be added.
      Thank you for suggesting the LiFePo4 battery.

    Very cool project. A couple questions though, why do you use TP4056 instead of a solar charge like an MPPT with a CN3791? Would it be possible to replace the slits in the case with a stevenson screen? That together with (probably) some rubber in the joints and ABS instead of PLA for the 3D printing could make it weather proof, but I might be mistaken :-)

    is it possible to connect HSR 204 ultrasonic sensor to this board ,usually they are connected to D1 , D2 pins in wemos d1mini. is there any way i can connect it using the PCB you have designed . I would like to create a water tank level monitoring system using this board.

    Just wondering if it still is running well? 3D prints are usually not weather proof, also the vents on the side seem quite open. Do you have any experience
    from rainy weather conditions?

    • @opengreenenergy
      @opengreenenergy  3 роки тому

      You are correct, the enclosure is not at all weather proof. I have applied a lacquer coating over the PCB and all the components except the sensor plart only. I have experience from my earlier version, it can last more than 4years by applying the lacquer spray coating.

    Hey there! I saw you used a diode from solar panel to tp4056. None at this project. Do you think it is safe to use 1W solar panel straight to the tp4056? Thx.

    • @opengreenenergy
      @opengreenenergy  5 років тому +1

      Hey,
      I used it in my old version.
      But after reading the TP4056 data sheet, I found that there is no need to use diode.
      You can safely connect the solar panel directly to the TP4056.

    • @opengreenenergy
      @opengreenenergy  5 років тому +1

      The enclosure is not weather proof, if you keep the board inside a weatherproof enclosure it will work like a charm. Currently I keep it in my balcony where it receives 2-3 hr of sun light which is enough for running the board.
