@@nyorito5208 I'm Dutch and I had to look it up... Brutaal (brute-ahl) is rude, but it's not the right translation in this context.
I would say gemeen (ge-main, hard G) is more apt. It translated to 'mean'.

For those curious like me, the literal translation of rude in Dutch is "brutaal." But a word more fitting might be "onbeleefd," which means the following: rude, impolite, discourteous, uncivil, unmannerly.
I'm not Dutch, I just used google translate and tried to get the proper meaning across. Anyone who does speak Dutch, please be kind to my genuine curiosity.
Yes, i more likely say "onbeleefd" then "brutaal", in fact i don't hear a lot of friends or family saying "brutaal". I don't think that "brutaal" is used to often in a matter of speaking but i could be completely wrong.
Brutaal is what you'd use for a bratty child. Onbeleefd is mainly impolite, more commonly used for rude in adult speech
'Onbeschoft' is also an option.
