  • When you follow a keto or low carb diet, you get all of the sugar and refined carbs out of your diet. But, if you replace those foods with seed oils, you may be doing more harm than good. This video explains why you should be just as concerned, if not more so, about getting rid of seed oils as you are about sugar.

Told my wife what ever was happening if it lasts longer than 30 seconds it'll kill me. Joking of course. Till one day at work. Couldn't stop the pain. Well as anyone reading this would guess full blown heart attack. At the time weight was 243 lbs I'm only 5'11" so not huge but well over weight. Now on the low carb eating. I'll never call this a diet because I eat till I'm full. So with that said I'm at 175 to 180 and feeling amazing. Body pains are slowly going away. More energy is coming and can't say enough how much its changing my every day life. Sorry about the book. But I thought people should know one success story. And never met any of the people I watch. @@thomcarr7021 😆 Yeah! The sad thing is even most "whole food" or "outer aisle" low carb grocery items are not necessarily healthy if not technically considered "keto"! Ketosis is a metabolic process and state. Doesn't mean you are necessarily healthy! You can be in ketosis and still have cancer! Cancer still utilizes ketones for their cell membranes according to research which Dr Eric Berg has spoken about in one of his videos! Metabolic flexibility may be better anyway but besides that debate we still have toxins in our environment and food supply for which ketosis itself can not be the fix! Also even psychology plays a role in your metabolic state as mental stress can kick one out of ketosis.

I am so loving this channel! It is strange how I came to finding it. A day or two ago about 1 AM I was looking into general information on sediment and one of the PDF docs mentioned a Dr. Becky. I quickly looked up the name and came across this channel. After watching two videos subscribed and have been watching two to three videos a day!
I am over 50 and noticed that I was having finger joint pain and gaining weight when barely ate (this is prior to coming across this channel) . I went on a fast for religious reasons which included sustaining from sugars, rice, breads, etc., and just eating some fruits but mostly veggies and lentils. The joint pain stopped. Though I was only eating one meal a day, I wasn't hungry and the weight (after about 25-30 days) dropped and clothing I had not worn in over a year was fitting much more comfortably.
Watching this channel has given me so much information as to what was, (and is) going on with my 50+ body. Watching just a few videos has already allowed me to make informed decisions on how to move forward in living a healthier life style. Hey, I may even get down from 153 lbs to 130!
Now, I don't know if this Dr. Becky is the same mentioned in the PDF document discussing sediment, but I certainly thankful I found it. Thanks Dr. Becky!

BEST explanation of “good” vs “bad” fats I have ever heard. Recently, I dropped all commercially made salad dressings (I eat a lot of salads) and started buying high quality olive oil and vinegar. Mighty Olive (brand/store name) Cranberry/Pear vinegar & Blood Orange Olive Oil. I put it on salads AND sandwiches. I like it so much, I haven’t even tried the many other flavors they have. I highly recommend this as a healthy and delicious substitute. There are other speciality olive oil shops and they are worth seeking out and the difference in GOOD olive vs most of the junk in grocery stores is amazing. Lord, such good info here. Been on Keto since June, lost 52 lbs so a great start. About 2 months ago, found some "cheaters" in my diet, took those out, and fast loss accelerated. Now after watching this, I just went into my fridge, and pulled out EVERYTHING that had seed oil in it! It was a crazy large amount of stuff, need a recipe for a seed oil-free dressing now!

Why UA-cam directed me here is a mystery, but I’m glad they did.
I cook mostly at home, for the reasoning expressed in this video, but I had no knowledge whatsoever about seed oils. 😬
I lived in Indonesia for about a year, and something I did notice specifically about living there is I tended to feel better after I ate.
Well, they tend to eat whole foods, and they don’t use seed oils usually. Lots of coconut oil though.
Anyway, you just got a new sub 💯

Not only have we been given bad advice about fats here ...

Thanks for the videos. I've learned so much. My question is not on topic, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. I've only recently heard about kefir water. I must live under a rock, but I had to look it up to see what it actually is. When I looked into homemade kefir, sugar is the activator. Is this a new health fad? Have you addressed this in a video, or do you have a "take" on the benefits (or not) of kefir? Thank you for your help.

Hello Dr. Becky...it's been a while, I credit you with my path toward healthy eating. Thank you. In this video some of the referenced articles blame seed oils for inflammatory bowel disease. I tend to be in the camp of belief that plant proteins, especially the gliadins from wheat, leaking across the intestinal mucosa are to blame for inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis. This is not only in "genetically susceptible" individuals but potentially all humans, AND, the people who are supposedly genetically inclined to have Celiac Disease MAY be suffering from an inherited microbiome that makes them susceptible and not a genetic etiology. Consider that we not only inherit our genes from our parents but also our microbiome is inherited. Let's think about that.
