This is a glorious restoration. The previously cut Internationale section included on a previous restoration was noticable because of the change in volume but here it's seamless.
Beautiful piece of music, directed by a great Italian. And the plus to listen to tenor Jan Pierce, who was Toscanini favorite tenor to work with. It’s chilling to hear the anthem of the United Stated at the finish with Tocanini singing along. ❤️
Tenor Jan Peerce was born in 1904 in New York city, his given name was "Jacob Perelmuth" He was an American Jew. (1904-1984.) Toscanini was the very great Cond. One of the very greatest of all time.
I likewise appreciate the uncensored version. I wish a presentation of the entire uncensored film, including the Forza overture and the documentary section, were available. But I am glad we can hear the full Hymn in Toscanini’s version.
Well, here is someone else's restoration with the Internationale taken from 16mm. ua-cam.com/video/c4zkM1NWsNg/v-deo.html But they didn't restore the soundtrack from the master recording as in the version I put together. I suppose I can do a supplemental upload of the entire four-reeler.

Let me say it with my poor English: Arturo Toscanini is the great voice of freedom and of loyalty to all (all!) humen beeing. As a young child, in Jerusalem, long befor my country turend to be what she is to day, I listen and loved and admired the great musiciation. Now I am an old man, steel hope to poot a rose on his stone, and steel I want to belive that his voice (all music are voice) will ever inspirate people and nations.
The idea that he was still around conducting in 1950 and rattled off a few stereo records before his passing ...when he conducted world premieres for Verdi and Puccini both. (Puccini was only 11 years older).
I love to sing along (in English) to the Internationale sometimes especially to this wonderful and powerful arrangement. If I win the Euromillions jackpot I'd love to fund an arrangement just like this.
To look at this video is a stirring, wonderful experience. Everyone plays as though there were themselves going to war against Nazism and Fascism. And maybe they were; Arturo Toscanini certainly was.
