    I ride a longboard myself (not electric) I think one thing you will need to get used to is the turning radius for a longboard itself is not as great as compared to your ebike or escooter. Also, a hidden philosophy for all new skateboarders/long boarders you will eventually fall . Having that fear of not falling will slow you down in your potential of riding this new electric longboard. I recommend looking into how to fall properly off a longboard and slowly let that fear go of falling so you can feel just as comfortable on your bike and scooter , and with each mistake you make you genuinely will become a better rider and more confident on your board. And keep the speed moderate going 20 mph on an electric longboard is not the same as going 20mph on an e-bike and escooter. Though some people don't take that advice cuz where is the fun in that :)

      @eyebahnrides  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate the input of a long boarder. I'll definitely keep all of that in mind as I'm learning and becoming more comfortable with it. You're right about the turning radius. Its much larger than I anticipated and its going to take longer thank expected to become comfortable with those u-turns. I plan to be a more "chill carvey rider" so I don't see my self blasting it like I do my scooter (lol i say that now but we'll see!). My confidence is definitely growing as I put the miles in so I hope it's noticeable in the next video that I do!

      thanks for watching this video and welcome to the channel Vinny! Short boards are definitely more difficult to get used to and that's one of the reasons I chose the AT2+. Even after a year, I can say that I really still enjoy the board as a casual rider that just cruises around. I'm excited for you to get get on the AT2+. Let me know what you think when you get it!

I appreciate your encouraging words because I felt like I ended that day on such a high note and was ecstatic about the results. If you get into esk8 just be prepared to feel a bit awkward and stupid at times but it's quite fun and rewarding. Thanks for watching the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was a bit worried folks wouldn't like this style of content because I still have to refine the camera settings, audio levels, and (the new unexpectedly hard one) the camera angles! It's much easier on the scooter and bike because there's only 2 perspective. There were time's I wasn't even sure where to put the camera lol.
      Thanks for the advice! That's what I've read and have been told so far. There are huge parking lots near me but they're always so active lol so the streets were actually the safest options. I'll definitely stay geared up because I'm pretty OCD when it comes to safety lol, the only thing I may do as I get better is downgrade from a full face to a regular skate helmet if I'm just going to be cruising at lower speeds.

Paired with the flexible carbon/ maple deck and the flex battery design, it’s been amazingly comfortable on the rough NYC streets. One thing I did when I first started ESK8 was I scouted out a route around my house that I know had the smoothest road and I knew where all the manholes/road hazards were. That way anytime I just wanted to go out and skate w/o having to worry too much about that stuff , I would already have a route instead of just riding in a random direction and have to be on constant lookout for stuff, hope this helps , and stay safe!

      Hope you had a great trip! OMG, after what feels like an eternity, you're finally on the Klima! How's it been 🤭? On the esk8 I was basically just nervously laughing at myself on the outside, but in my head I'm just like ...
      " Dont die... dont die... dont die.... FCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK IM ABOUT TO ... wait no... I'm good.... dont die...🙀" . All while sweating like hell because I wasn't used to moving like that lol
      What I've learned so far is, you feel awkward/ stupid as hell starting... but it's rewarding once you start to make progress and improving. Ahh i miss esk8 lol...some tips i would give:
    - it helps if you go to your local park and practice turning around a large object. Helps with cornering and checking if you need to loosen or tighten your trucks.
    - braking works the same as scooters so definitely lean back when braking.
    -potholes and metal grates are your worst enemy lol. Avoid at all costs hehe.
    - lastly when you get comfortable leaning and turning, you can start carving which is super fun.
    Best of luck Ivan 🙌🏼

      Thanks for the advice Jeff, I really appreciate it. I found a full basketball court in my area that I could do tight figure 8s in. I just need to either wake up early or do it at night because all these damn parks are always so damn busy lol. I actually switched to goofy on my scooter so that I can practice the braking lean and I'm trying to use my bars less! I'll keep that in mind with the potholes and metal lol.
      I can't wait to carve. That's the primary reason I got the board. I want to be chill and swaggy while I do those big surf like carves lol. Then I can be like that guy in the west coast that carries those giant light sticks and look like a Sith Lord on an Esk8😂

      I know the shorter videos are easier to watch in one sitting compared to the longer "full ride" style videos, so I'm trying to do more of them. I'm going to reduce the full rides to once a month if I can and I'll try to feature each PEV atleast once a month. At this point, I feel like I want to make 2 videos a week but thats a massive time commitment that my work schedule can't support right now =(.

    Nice first day! Your legs will need to get use to the riding position. You are using a lot of muscles you don’t normally use. Did you ever snowboard before? How does it compare to learning to ride EUCs for the first time?? I feel like EUC was the hardest for me to learn.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Erock, I survived! I think my legs are much more sore on the esk8 than when I learned EUC. I never snowboarded but I "ski boarded" once lol. I used to ride a bit as a wee little teenager so I feel some of the muscle memory kicking in when I was riding.
      I was able to ride esk8 off the bat when I met with @DrewElia and it's been an easier learning curve in the beginning. It took be about 30 minutes of drills and 15 minutes of attempts to be able to push off and ride the V11. I think once I put my first 100 miles on the board, I'll be as good on it as I was with my V11 (it took me 100 miles to be comfortable riding the crazy mode on the v11). After 250 miles, I was a hooligan riding with traffic and dodging cars lol. Have you tried esk8 before?

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, I appreciate the vote of confidence! I think riding a scooter and EUC has given me a decent foundation to build on because it trained my fine motor skills and sense of balance.
      Oh man, I see a lot of scooter riders do that. I'm glad I never got into the habit of pushing off like that. I feel like thats a fast track to unnecessary falls lol. Speaking of unnecessary, I tried to switch my stance and almost crashed hahaha.
      I've been looking into skating shoes but I'm being cheap. I told my wife next time we stop by the mall I may pick up a pair but only for the right price. My chucks and my other adidas just look clean in the videos lol. They're pretty beat up but remain relatively clean cus I wear dress shoes everyday. The only problem I've run into is they grip too much when I try to foot break. I almost did a split the other day when the sneakers bit into the ground!

      Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! It's been a few weeks now since I started learning how to ride and I'm a bit more comfortable now. I had my first major fall, which set me back a little bit, but I'm back at it trying to get better. Thank you for the advice! Every bit helps and I hope to be commuting with it in the next month. I have Episode 2 and 3 out already while episode 4 is planned to come out next week if you want to check them out!

    Try to set up your speed equal to your run speed in case you have to start running away from your board!

      Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel merweo! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate ya! I learned that the hard way a few weeks after the release of this video. I got a little too comfortable and a little too confident, so I ended up falling pretty hard lol.
