Confession: I don't really know the distinction between management sims and city builders. Anyways, hoping to post my roguelite round up video for 2022 in early January, but no promises on exact timing (as you can probably see I haven't been able to be super consistent recently).
I got 100% on this game on difficult mode, so I'd say I saw everything the game has to offer. I really was disappointed by the lack of depth of the systems and how they all seem so independent. The base building in particular was really shallow. Overall, 7/10.
Nice video! I had thought about buying this game but it looked kinda unfinished for me back then. Now I see that not buying it was the right choice. It looks good and all but it is too much different stuff at a shallow level, i guess. Well, I got myself SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising and it offers good depth as far as I got into it. And it may be a bit early, but Happy New Year everyone! :)
Thanks! Yeah it looks good, but it also has a lot of different shallow elements going on. I played some Synthetik 2 a while back. I want to sink some more time in both of them and do a 1 vs 2 comparison at some point. Happy New Year as well!
Tbh they should either double down on the basebuilding or the dungeons, then it would've been my GOTY 2022. A perfect way to introduce someone to roguelites tho like Hades
Yeah I think it's a great introduction to roguelites for newcomers to the genre (which is always great), but also could have used some more depth for veterans.
@@JULR0W You can also check out Against the Storm if you haven't already for a pure basebuilding roguelite. There are a couple others like Kainga and Wandering Village, but Against the Storm the only one I've tried myself.
@@Dfleckt cult of the lamb lives through it's charme just like Hades. I love Hades much more though because of it's writing. CotL was fun too, but the fun didn't last too long
I enjoyed my playthrough of cult of the lamb very much, but it definitely doesnt have staying replayability of rogue legacy 2, revita, and gungeon. Still worth playing.
I remember an indie roguelite game that i played long ago, if someone can help me to find it i would be thankfull, i can't find it anywhere. The game was all about just saving a princess It is 3d, but all enemies models are 2d, like printed or something, it had a very unique art style There were like 3 bosses, the first one being a giant spider You can craft weapons with materials you find along the way In some "boxes" in the wall you can leave behind equipment or smithing pieces and at the start of the next run you can use the things u left behind, and there was always on at the boss rooms Always at the second room i believe, there was a merchant The game was named something with a word kinda like Keeper, digger, or something like that
Roguelite that just popped onto steam with ridiculous amounts of content is Buriedbornes. The translation isn't the best, but the variety of builds is crazy.

Take your time, also happy holidays!
Love your reviews, nice to see you back!
great video, would've liked a spoiler section where you talk about that ending
Thanks! You know I definitely should have, but I just forgot that I could add a spoiler section since I almost never do lol

@@InsertReviews true, was kinda disappointed by the few dungeons it has. I wanted gungeon but basebuilding

this one exactly like hades - fancy outside, empty and flat inside. hades have story and voice acting at least - here we got nothing

I recommend you check a roguelite ARPG called Liberte.

Slasher's Keep? Fits some of those boxes but I dont remember princesses or crafting.
