You will have to go back and watch the first video. This is Geoffs' second song from the Hobbit movies. First, he did "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold" from the first Hobbit movie. This one "I See Fire" is from the second movie. Exact same four Dwarts, same costumes & makeup. Different set and some newly added props. Geoff and Kathy did an outstanding job on this one. Kathy did all the costuming, and Rick Underwood did the makeup. Eli did the lighting the day before the shoot. Geoff did everything else.

Geoff has a way of reaching deep down into your soul. I love how he did this deep & slow it added affect to the lyrics. The lyrics itself is very sad.

If you've not been following Geoff lately you will have missed his Man of Constant Sorrow, which is beautiful. As always. This one gives me chills, as he often does. Yes this is from The Desolation of Smaug which I believe is the second in the The Hobbit trilogy.

Thank you for another great reaction to Voice Play. If you want to see Geoff rock it out then please do a reaction video of Voice Plays cover " Peaches "
( Bowser, Mario, Luigi & Toad ) Geoff really unleashes his inner Rock God in this one. At the end one of Layne's daughters makes an appearance as Peaches. They did this outside & live.

Well that Just gets you deep in the chest cavity.
I love the original. So this is a different and quite beautiful.
Time to re-explore Tolkien methinks. Ahh memories.
I discovered the books at 17 yrs of age and fell under the spell. The films were incredible. The music amazing. Thanks Rollen for introducing me to a new and interesting version of this Ed Sheeran classic.

This song brings tears to my every time as the images of what the dragon is doing as they sing their death dirge. The music always sounded like wings pumping in the back ground the deep thunder of the wings sweeping up and crashing down. The horrifying shadow of death and destruction flying overhead.
The line about the tunnels should bring more terrible images when you watch the hobbit and they find the skeletons grouped together in a room. All were burned alive in their own made golden tombs. This before we even know of the Balrog
This song I see warriors watch in petrifying terror of not being able to do anything but watch your friends and family be burned alive, eaten or dropped from the sky by that gigantic dragon Smaug who is there for their home and the vast wealth it holds because swords, knives, arrows are all useless.
Greed begets Greed in this deadly moment. All you can do is accept the inevitable of a horrific death. Smaug came because of the massive amount of gold and gems the dwarves had collected , never happy with what they had.
In the end Smaugs Greed was his demise by the greed of all races.
Fabulous version he holds the tremble of fear in his voice along with acceptance of it all. I think it is now my absolute favorite.
Ed Sheerens version is more like a bard singing the song in a tavern as others listen. This version is the Death Dirge of Dwarven warriors who have accepted they cannot do anything watch those they care about die before their own deadly demise.
