I totally get the delayed gratification thing, and why you do it: I have one of the Oz books by L Frank Baum that has sat unread on the shelf for decades, because once I've read that one there will be no more. I've also not read the last Discworld book by Terry Pratchett for the same reason. At some point I shall have to bite the bullet, because it would be a shame to go to the grave and never have read them! Anyway, this is one of my absolute faves from VP. When I first heard it I was in a caravan in Scotland, and I couldn't wait to play it to my family: it's a very specific memory, which makes it special because it's anchored in my personal history. I shall have to think of a special time to read those books too!

Being a bass, I can explain to you why we sound like a creaky floorboard: once a human voice goes so deep, the vocal folds are actually oscillating slower than the air escaping. That creak is the sound of air moving past the vocal folds.

      So interesting!!

I just find it so fascinating that I can actually distinguish the individual soundwaves coming from Geoff's vocal folds... it's such a trippy experience to zero in on that and really pay attention to the sound.. I love it! :) It's also crazy how, somehow while listening through my good headphones, I can seemingly physically feel the vibration of his voice in my own ribcage lol it's the weirdest thing. I don't understand how that even happens - somehow actually feeling like your body is vibrating when the only source of the sound is from a headset... no external speakers to explain the sensation

@@zarasha8220, listen to the great Mikhail Zlatopolsky sometime. I am a particularly low bass (even deeper than Geoff can go) and Zlatopolsky makes me sound like a tenor. He could hit a C1 in chest voice and be heard over an entire choir acoustically.

They don't always put things at the end, but they have been using the karaoke track that they make for their patrons. No lead, just the beatboxing and background vocals.
    Really enjoyed your reaction!!

Think of Geoff's voice hitting the 2nd white key from the bass end of the piano. That's his low note x 3 in this one. The B0 at the beginning when J None is singing solo, Geoff's comes in and rolls that B0 for 14 seconds. He does it 2 more times at toward the end. That's a 30.8 Hertz

Hi Red - you make me smile too! 😍So glad you got to this one, looks like you enjoyed it..!! FYI - Miracle Of Sound (Gavin Dunne) is the original artist, the rap part was a VP addition, though! - he liked it and rated it '10 out of 10 raised ale-horns'! This was filmed in a VR studio, with huge LED screen walls showing Eli's amazing 3D backgrounds - only issue was, it was 90° - and the studio AC was out!! That's commitment right there! 😊

Glad you chose this one! I'm SURE you have had a LOT of suggestions for this. I suspect many (most) VoicePlay fans would put this in their top 5 or 10 from VoicePlay. In case you didn't realize, there is a 'prequel' to this one called "My Mother Told Me." If you like this, you will like that as well! You asked (speaking of Geoff's low notes) "How does he DO that?" My simple answer is 'years and years of practice.' I couldn't hardly WAIT to see your reaction to J None with the Rap segment. You didn't disappoint!! At the end, you said, "there wasn't anything there." They often showcase isolated background vocals after the piece is over. Depending on the song, the 'out take' can be very informative about what the 'unsung hero' parts sound like. As always, you do a great reaction!! As of this exact moment, you have 60 views in 17 minutes with 22 likes and just a couple comments! Keep 'em coming!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥 - a very big production. Miracle of Sound commented on the video - and gave the guys 10 alehorns out of 10. They said they all had sore voices after this 😉. This is the second time Geoff went to B0 (he also did that in Halo) - Layne loves to stretch Geoff's limits! Having said that, the beatboxing in this is insane. They all shine. 🌹🕊

The guy that wrote J’s rap for this (and Superstition) is currently a member of the acapella group Straight No Chaser. You may not have heard of them, but they’ve been around a while and singing to sold out venues.
If you’d like to try reacting to them, I’d suggest their song Marvin Gaye. One warning though. They encourage their Chasers to record and post videos of their performances. So a lot are out there. For reacting, you’d be better off going with their ‘Official Videos’ from their UA-cam channel. The sound will be much better. I also love their video for Creep. (It was my favorite until Eli’s arrangement for Voiceplay came out!)

Well that is a new one I have never heard Geoff described as a squeaky floorboard before 🤣 J.None absolutely added that secret sauce to this performance with the rapping in the middle. I never thought that I would seem the guys dressed as Vikings but this was one of their best to date for me. Glad you liked it Red, the 'Well hello Sir' look as J.None was doing his thing was hilarious. 😀

Funny, a comment with a suggestion for another artist not with a major label, was removed by UA-cam apparently. Since you apparently like complex, fast rap, I suggested you take a look at a video from Harry Mack. He has millions of followers here on YT, any of his "Bars" videos are great. Maybe it was because I mentioned a former "social network" that has since been shutdown, despite the name still being in the titles of hundreds of videos.

This is the song cover that made me think " who are these guys?". I had to listen to the intro again and again to confirm they didn't use real instruments there. The only thing I don't like about Voiceplay is they also do "shorts" song cover. I hate those shorter videos, where you only get to enjoy their talent in seconds.
