Yeah the transmission bell housing would bolt right up to the 2.7t. The only thing I’m not sure about there is the input shaft size but I believe it is the same as well.
you have problems with your vr6. I can maybe recommend one or two contacts in Germany who have a lot of knowledge about the engine. but first have to check their contact details. I also considered building a vr6 into my s4 b5 avant, but then it is no longer a real s4 b5 for me. I've been driving mine every day for 3 years, except for the brakes it's in its original condition. it is now 22 years old and everything on the drive train is still original from the factory, apart from wearing parts, of course. I love the 2.7 v6, it's a bitch, but it has character and just sounds awesome. which vr6 do you have, the original one, 3.2 or 3.6? I am now considering installing a 5 cylinder from the rs3, but they are still too expensive.

Here is a little info. If you want to lower compression have the pistons fly cut. Then you don’t have to mess with headspacer
I actually have a set of forged compression dropping pistons. Just had the spacer for this temporary build

Boost probably lifted the head. Head spacer only good for 20 psi anymore and it leaks
