Alternate Title:
Jonathan Young’s resume applying to be the next Disney Villain
It's a wonder he still has to😂
Yep, that works too.
Yes!
I have a dream that will never happen but I like to indulge in time to time...
A dream of a Disney movie where:
Jonathan Young plays the villain
Thomas Sanders plays a prince
Nick Pitera plays another prince
(the love interest of Thomas' prince, if I ever thought a gay prince couple would ever happen in Disney history 😞...but since this is my dream, it is so)
Caleb Hyles would play someone
(possibly another villain or the best friend of one of the princes...it goes back and back)
Jon Cozart would also play someone
A dream that will stay just a dream, unfortunately
@@SilverGallowglass the gay prince concept sounds interesting. Why not do it? We'll be entering the 2020s and most of society accepted the fact that there are people who love someone of the same sex.
Prince Ali starts playing
Me: *confused head bobbing*
Ditto.
Was about to post the same thing.
yeah, it sounds awesome but agreed not sure how it sits in the "villain" part
The reprise is sung by Jafar ... but it is not included here :D
@@russellbagnall5577 I mean. Aladdin has slaves???? So that is pretty villainish?!
For anyone confused about "Yzma's Song" and how different it is to everything else about the Emperor's New Groove, it's cause they originally intended to have Yzma be some kind of cultist to the Incan god of darkness, and her master plan was to sacrifice Kuzco to said god.
I was wondering about this specifically!
Totally didn't know this! Very interesting...
That sounds so fucking cool
I like this version better
Its funny how Disney was basically stuck playing catch up to Dreamworks from New Groove up until around Chicken Little.
"If you cant beat em, join em."
"Prince Ali starts up"
Me: I always knew Genie was a damn villain
If you think about it, Prince Ali was all of the worst qualities of Aladdin's, so it does kinda work as a villain song.
@@monstermikeheinrichs Huh, I guess your right! song is really just one big lie!
@@monstermikeheinrichs yeah he was literally deceiving hundreds of people including jasmine so- yeah not a very heroic moment lol
I mean he did cheat Aladdin out of his second wish.
@@monstermikeheinrichs yeah, it showed him as lazy, lier, show off and manipulator.
No better then the likes of gaston
So Hellfire is the last song
Well, you know the saying, save the best for last
He needs to do one punch man season 2 opening
Now I know that I should listen to the whole thing, thank you!
That is an amazing song. But its also just about a super gross Pervy old man who is complaining about being horny. Like. I love the song. But ew
@@infinitedragonbellyx.x that's what makes it such a good villain song, it feels absolutely wrong and filthy. Yuck
Right? I'm torn between Be Prepared and Hellfire as my faves from him... It's so close.
What a freaking catalogue 🤘 Humbled to be a part of it, brotha 🙏
Two true legends!
Papa Caleb!!
the two of you are legit my favorite singers from youtube!
You two are the best together. I especially enjoy Bells of Notre Dame and Savages.
I love both of y’all!!! You guys are awesome!!!!! Keep up the great work ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He's got Scar down completely. It's almost scary how good he's at this
My favourite tune
while im rather partial to Scar's voice, i was quite impressed.
I know right?? It's not just the amazing range and the grit he's able to infuse into his singing voice, he's also just an amazing (voice) actor who adds some seriously impressive stylistic additions to his vocal roles that makes his performances that much more realistic!!
I mean yea it was excellent
I just love the aspect of "Be Prepared" being an almost schizophrenic Scar yelling at himself to do such a horrendous deed.
Alternate Title:Evolution of Jonathan Young hairstyles
Don't know why, but I find it interesting to watch how your hairstyle changes over time
Short hair John is best John
he looks good with short and with long hair
I would of liked this, but its at 666 likes and I don't wanna ruin that. So, I like this comment.
It's the long hair for me.
i have the question cuz he’s like 6 different dudes.
WHY HASN’T DISNEY FOUND THIS GUY YET DAMMIT HE EVEN HAS THE PORTFOLIO RIGHT HERE
I don't want disney to find him, they'll just use and abuse his talents, I've heard some dark rumors about that company, though they still put out good movies
He hasn't sacrificed enough infants for Disney execs to notice yet.
They did find him and hired him for the beyblade intro song
@@DevilsRosenot anymore..

If you listen to "Playing with the Big Boys" and "You're Only Second Rate" back-to-back, it sounds like a trio of wizards having an awesome magic/music battle
Wizard vs Priest in the age of Hyboria.
Conan: Aww here we go again...
The Egyptian Priests: *use magic tricks while mentioning their gods*
Jafar: "I'm about to end these guys' whole career."
hellfire is great, but there's something about "playing with the big boys" that makes it my absolute favorite
It's chanting the gods' names, isn't it
I abaoloutely love that one too, totally made me lose it first listen and well like every other listen
Probably the raw primal anger vibes the song gives off. Gives me the feeling to mosh.

If anything I think the 2014 "Mine, Mine, Mine" aged beautifully. Disturbingly, but beautifully.
Seriously, that video is a piece of true art. I really want to see it in full again. Is there anywhere to get it? It was inspiring me to write a bunch of dnd villains >.>
I agree, i am sad it is gone
I didnt remember this song but damn that last MINE gives me chills and how it goes into the callback....I went and listened to the original after this and damn this man has a gift of restructuring
Now i really want Jon to do Voltaire's "When You're Evil"

[Everyone liked that]
It's not just disney. Phantom of The Opera is on this too.
And Prince of Egypt, which is DreamWorks.
@@scottgaultney and Ferngully and Anastasia which are fox.
@@saqwana25 Well, Disney owns those movies now, so they technically fit into this video.
@@scottgaultney well shit you are right lol
You should give "How Bad Can I Be" from the lorax a try. I think you could do a pretty nice transition from light to heavy metal throughout it!
Ooooooo how many good ideas will I second? ALL OF THEM!
Y A S he has to do that
I can hear it now. The slow decline into insanity could be amazing.
@@ihatemegatron216 especially at the flip when it drops into the minor key
How about Open Up Your Eyes, those two are the only major villain songs he never did
Which Evil Jon is scarier, well-groomed black suit Jon or wild-haired crazy Jon? Edit: Both are, of course, incredibly hot.
Well groomed, suit wearing Jon would stab you in the back. Wild and crazy Jon would just rip your heart out of your chest.
Well put together evil is always scarier to me. Sure, a madman can axekill you. But Lex Luthor can burn the world.
I second that edit!
i was good with the long hair then he did "shiny" and i kinda tripped over my own jaw...
I still kinda like the long hair better, as in "Old Money".
Jonathan subtly submitting his resume to Disney on Broadway huh
A bit long for a resume but also yes, that exactly, yes
There's no such thing as too long of a resume if its this good
but can he do the stuff inbetween the singing? I'd support him as the Phantom of the Opera, since there's no dialogue only singing
Every Jonathan Young villain cover? Now my life is complete! 😯
Ther should be a whole Musical with these songs and Jon and Caleb as the main cast.
I mean, to be fair, a good singer does not always equal a good actor, or vice versa, you know? Not saying they couldn't pull it off, it's just an easy thing to consider is all.
Watch Hellfire and Wolf Within.
As much as I love listening to “play with the big boys” and “prince Ali” no song can blow hellfire out from the top

Would love to hear your version of Tangled's "Mother knows best".
Okay... Let's take a moment and now our heads in appreciation of this godly moment we heard "in the dark of the night" from anastasia.

This should at least be in the thousands
(I’m talking about the likes).......
In The Dark Of The Night was always my favorite cover because that was such a good song kind of failed by the movie it was in. That cover was so much better than the original I started to forget it was a cover in the first place. Plus you get really into it in the video and look right unhinged.
Sucks since Rasputin was such a fun villain
I love the mad monk and they made him incredibly fun
Failed by the movie? Anastasia was incredible
@@AmbitiousNoodle Agreed.
Keifer Weiland I think what they meant is that the events happenings during the song is underwhelming. I mean, singing bugs? Definitely doesn’t do justice to a song such as this.
@@kayalandry2249, oh. Yeah. Weird stylistic choices for sure
My favorite is the one where he sings dramatically at the camera.
Oh wait that's all of them.
38:45 "Playing with the Big Boys Now" sounds legitimately like it was *made* for Death Metal. That chanting damn near summoned Ra in my living room!
You should totally send some demos to Disney to see if you can get a part as a villain, even if it's just a minor part like a henchman or something. I just feel that it's wrong for you not to use your voice in a Disney movie.
I'd make sure you'd send something that showcases your range for sure. Obviously your performance on Hellfire is something that I would include.

IKR! He made that one TERRIFYING. I was legit scared.
Shiny sounds very good but I prefer the unique, egotistical Tamatoa in the original. This one seems too evil if you get my drift

Starting strong with Be Prepared and ending on a high note with Hellfire. Just the way it should be.😁👍
That "Trust in Me" cover just blindsides me every time. I'm never ready for those vocals. Holy crap
"In the Dark of the Night" is indisputably the best villain song ever written.
Yep :D I also enjoy "don't make me laugh" from Pebble and the Penguin, though it's actually a "bad" song now that I'm an adult and understand it. :/
Idk, be prepared, snuff out the light, my lullaby?
@@samuraiofhell8720 Absolutely trumps all of those, yes. Be Prepared is probably close in second.
Hellfire can compete. Never thought musically it was that great, but as the anthem of a villain convinced he's in the right as he commits atrocities it's absolutely an icon.
@@SamJ.J. Well said. If we’re speaking STRICTLY from a musical standpoint, I still think In the Dark of the Night takes the cake. The chord progression, the key change, the little imp/gremlin choir (or whatever those creatures are,) it’s all just too good. I’m not well versed enough in music theory to name whatever happens when they hit “it’s the eeeenddd of the liiinneee” but they do something with the chord progression there that makes it extra…saucy.
