it's been years since i asked about gunplay in this project and mentioned how important it is for a “dayz game”. Years later, I still haven't seen anything along those lines... i have no more hope for Taviana
Discovered you today via a random UA-cam comment about a game called deadside… looking forward to hopefully seeing this someday. I really hope you get this going to prove a lot of these people wrong that seem to be overly obsessive with your project and weirdly seem to hope for its downfall? lol seems counterintuitive on their ends but sure? lol keep up the good work man! Honestly I bet none of these dummies that are hating could figure out how to place a 3d asset properly on terrain so don’t sweat it guy lol

I like the way the blueprint actually shows you the list of required materials and required tools so you actually know what you need. I used to hate in the days of the Origins mod, you had no idea what materials or quantities you needed and you had to go online and find a website or video, that could be wrong, or outdated, to get the information you needed. HOWEVER: as you literally just showed in your own video, once you build the foundation, you come to stage 2 and because the blueprint disappeared, you now have the problem of not knowing what materials and tools you need all over again!! Instead of the blueprint disappearing, better to keep it in our inventory, but ruin it so it can't be used again, but can still be utilised to display the necessary information required to complete the building. Is everyone going to be able to see the top of the safe like that when it's buried? Would it not be better to have it somewhat more camouflaged? I could see people finding safes and camping them when they're so easily visible.

The DayZ engine is there for you to release Taviana/Origins back onto, all the hard work has been done for you. Knowing the modding opportunities and community are there too, as thats where you started. What made taviana and origins so good was the arma/dayz engine, the graphics, clunkyness. Thats what people really want and thats why its so popular. I get you have a goal to have your own game, but myself and im sure others will agree. It doesnt look good and doesnt seem like a game we'd put hours and hours into, like DayZ Mod back in the day. This project is dying a slow death. Nobody is excited about this. Get back into the DayZ community and you guys will change the game again like you once did. Taviana v1 BEST MAPPPP!!!
There are very few opportunities when modding. For instance, you do not have access to the engine's source code and are therefore limited by what the engine allows you to do. You cannot just add any feature that the community wants whenever they want it. If the engine doesn't have what you need to make the idea work, then you have to forget about ever adding the idea. No such problem when you're developing your own game as you have access to the engine's source code. Another issue is that when the owners of the engine decide to update it or remove a feature, then you have no choice but to go along with that, and if the update removes or changes a feature that your mod relies on then you have no choice but to remove the feature from your mod or spend four months rewriting your code and hoping that another update doesn't break it again. No such problems when developing your own game. Besides that, the owners of the game may decide to remove your mod from their game, they may go bankrupt and stop supporting the game, etc. What do you do then after you've spent years developing the mod? No such problems when developing your own game. Those are just some of the reasons why we're not interested in modding. If you're not interested in the game, please unsubscribe.
Here are some humble hot takes on this video (I know it's still a work in progress, but eh) : I think the inventory's placeholders (equipments, clothes, toolboxes) should not be plain white but a little faded so it's easier to see what slot is empty or not at the first glance. Showing codes on the map will cause problems to streamers and video creators. Actions wheel and codelock keys feedback sounds should be more subtile? During the construction of an item (safe, house, etc...), the mesh should remain visible but turn white / grey so there's an additional feedback in cases where the animation is not playing (for whatever reason), also, I think the door should be marked somehow when placing a blueprint. Finally, if the blueprint disappears when you place a building, I think you should have something to remind you the needed resources to finish the construction of building's current stage. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Origins mod fan and I'm still hyped for this game : I can't wait to set foot on Taviana again, it's been ages ! Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to returning to a dayz mod environment , as much as there hated i hope you left in the stupid big mountains as they added to the pvp encounters by making most people move in a loop
I was extremely skeptical about a standalone game, especially after what happened with the mod. But now I see the progress and maybe I was wrong after all. Good luck!

Oh yeah i love that typ of base building since Origins mod❤ i hope other players can't raid my base especially if i offline. The system in the good old mod days was the best in my opinion. U guys make great work, i can't wait to play the game.

Like the system thats somewhat similar to the mod. But i honestly have to say the graphics look kinda outdated in 2024 and not seeing a Early Acces-Test anywhere close makes me question if and when we are ever gonna play this game.

That menu is for development testing purposes only. It will not be possible to access it or spawn items using it in the finished game. 😉
