I've always enjoyed this session's approach. It reminds me of discovery calls where you go in with very little but rely on experience and instinct to prompt them to map the business for you and get them reflecting on their gaps ( aka a management consultant⚡❤)

Hi Andy, thanks for this. Would it be possible to do a video for entrepreneurs who want to take on a final “pay the bills” role before they launch into self employment? Thanks 😊

I recently was successful in getting a executive role that was somewhat 'open and undefined' to lead a start up of a new organization...moved to a different state for it. Then got fired 2 months in because they are changing direction". Now I am stuck in a new place, no network, no reference, etc. It is risky to take on ambiguous roles if the client does not really know what they want or they have unrealistic expectations. I learned the hard way and now I'm screwed. No similar roles in my new location because it was to lead the sole regional organization that overseas the industry in this area. Be careful what you get into!

Sorry to hear about the turn. I personally would see it as a net win if I were in the same position. Because it speaks of the cutting edge mindset to go with the original plan. I would milk it for all its worth.

    ? Hi Andy,
Just got low balled JO by the recruiter, and I'm up to date with all your helpful content, so I understand what to do, I just can't pin point specifically my other unique skills in relation to what the team is normally paid.. the value of those skills in relation to the position they want me to take.
Engineer in Semicon Industry, could you help with this train of thought? I'm expecting the actual hiring company to contact me within the week, since the recruiter insisted I email her and they'll feedback my position to the hiring company.
Currently 1am here, reviewing what I can do to be prepared, just hope you could help discuss this, thanks!

There are only two reasons to attempt to hire someone without a clear definition of their duties: The ability to expand their responsibilities at whim, and total managerial failure.
