Just returned from Cebu city centre a few days ago and this is our personal experience.
Fibre internet is a joke to Cebu. It hardly worked and could not use the wi-fi or steaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Movies or even local tv on steaming apps
Mobile phones most of the time just one signal bar inside the condo and 2 to 3 signal bars outside the condo
Food outlets like McDonalds, Burger King, KFC prices are similar to same outlets in Australia. Only street food is much cheaper in Cebu.
To travel ten kms it takes at least 1 hour plus daytime.
English is not spoken in Ceby by everyone including taxi drivers or Grab drivers. Only a few can understand basic words.
Medical facilities are not world class in most part of Philippines.
Bangkok has world class medical facilities, and a lot of health professional are trained in Western countries.
Thailand has far better roads and infrastructure compared to Philippines.
Bangkok numerous malls and is shoppers paradise compared to Philippines.
Overall Bangkok is far better than Cebu or Manila.

Everything? Fyi, Philippines is way better cheaper than Thailand look at the cost of burger in Burger King in Thailamd it cost in skyrocketing at 11 USDollar while in Phillippines it's only cost 3 USDollar and burger in Philippines is high quality burger because it's import from Australia and Phillippines has more more amazing beaches than Thailand and the most sharp advantage of Philippines over Thailand is Philippines wonder of nature which are not man - made while Thailand has none..

@@RoselHole Lol...not everybody think so as you say, @Logan-Cassadine means when everybody travel or live in Thailand, its more reasonable to spend in Thailand since it's more tourist oriented industry for foreigners and the cost of accomomdations are more of quality than any other SEA countries and the local street foods are more affordable and optional rather than spending in a foreign fastfoods(like Burger King, McDonalds etc.), f.y.i also not all tourists are interested to see the wonders of nature/natural beauty or go to beaches when they travel elsewhere, the reason why Thailand is more popular than the rest is its because of its different culture, tourists are more interested in Thai cuisines, Buddhism meditation and Muay Thai martial arts rather than some country like the Philippines with a Westernized and colonial background...

@@RoselHoleWhat kind of burgers are you comparing? And asked if the cost of living refers to the quality of housing and the price of food in general, not just comparing to burgers. Plus there are plenty of $1 to $3 burgers in Thailand.
And the beaches of the Philippines are not as amazing as you think because Thailand is just as amazing. Thailand Thailand also has a beautiful and unique culture in Asia and has beautiful mountains and waterfalls in the northern region. and Khao Sok National Park is a beautiful lake ranked in the world. And last year Kradan island was the most beautiful and best island in the world.

As far as I’m aware. If you are a UK old age pensioner, your state government pension will be frozen if you retire in Thailand it will not increase each year. However, if you retire in the Philippines, your state pension will increase a little bit every year just as if you were still living in the UK.

My experience with Thai immigration has greatly improved over the last 4 years. The online system for doing 90 day check ins actually works now. In 5 days, I will renew my annual marriage visa for the 6th time, at the new Phetchaburi province office in Cha Am. Painless and no cost. For 90 days, I have to maintain a provable balance of 400K baht prior to renewing. Two Western class hospitals in Hua Hin 13 minutes away from our 5 year old country mini villa. No regrets.

You're second visit? Spend one month in each country? LOL. You're 100% WRONG. First it sounds like you have not lived in either country long enough to know much. Second, 1 month is not enough time to determine long term living. For example, how can one build a future in Thailand when the locals don't like foreigners? Foreigners never make friends with Thais because Thais want nothing to do with them unless they can exploit them for money. This is due to the backwards Thai culture. Filipinos are much different. Spend a few years in Thailand and then tell me how many friends you made with locals. You cannot really live somewhere long term as a foreigner unless you can be accepted. Similar problem with Japan and S Korea.

The infrastructure is better, you don't understand or you can check it from the international system and traffic jams in Thailand usually reach the evening and morning half an hour rush hour but usually during the day and after 8:00 pm there is not much traffic. It's different from the model that's stuck all the time. This is because of poor traffic discipline and poor infrastructure.
You can check out the One Bangkok project. Bangkok's business district is more modern than Metro Manila's Makati and BGC areas. both modern convenience Everything you need and infrastructure And there are large parks surrounding the entire city. One thing that frustrates me about the whole western expat/immigrant community in SEA is there's an underlying sense of entitlement by people from richer countries that developing countries like Thailand or The Philippines should cater to them automatically simply because "they need us, more than we need them." It reeks of socioeconomical privilege and arrogance.

I think you're misguided and lack perspective. Thai perhaps? Fact is, expats in SEA go there with money to spend. They are generally strong consumers who stand to benefit the local economy. And they expect a certain level of good treatment because the customer is #1. This is in contrast to people from developing countries who flood into western countries (often illegally) with nothing to offer and looking to milk the welfare system. Now that's what you call entitlement.
