"Pamo, Pamo, Pamo, Pamo, Pamo, Pamooooo-San"
-Japanese Michael Scott
Nihon no Maikaru sukotto
San is for men. Chan is for women.
@@brucef310 "san" is gender neutral and "chan" is as well in most instances.
@@EverydayYounglife I lived in Japan for 12 years and went to school there. I think I would know. This isn't the same as addressing a group of women at a restaurant and saying "Hey you guys".
@@brucef310 it could be a meta-reference to Michael Scott trying to learn Spanish. he has absolutely no understanding of gender. or it could be a complete mistake
I'm so glad they got Steve Carell for this. No one can play Michael better than him.
Oskaras I agree
Oskaras statements like this make no sense. they could’ve very likely gotten another actor back then who plays michael amazingly and u would say no one else could fit the part
@@-__9767 Did you see their casting tapes? Steve Carell was the only one actually feeling the character. So in this case I think it makes sense.
Oskaras that’s not what i meant. imagine steve carell never auditioned and it was someone else just as good.

Well, we still don't know he's just as good or not if it's not happening

"jim you're not caucasian" "you seriously never noticed? props on you for not seeing race"
Should have hired Randall park for Jim's role here 😂
1:00 Jim's actor is the only one with a western name
Hader is just amazing. He basically is Dwight in this sketch, like exactly.
Noooo no no. He's Dwighto-san.
I used to get them mixed up somehow.

I just really appreciate Stanley playing Sudoku instead of doing a crossword 😂
Well spotted!!😂😂
Fucking kenan haha. What a legend
Kenan 😂
It is also canon that stanley likes Sudoku
Stanley played sudoku too, remember when i think Andy did all his sudoku and he was mad ass hell..😁
I think they skipped a beat here by not getting Asian Jim to play Jim
Bora Kesal unfortunately this aired in 2008 and I think Asian jim was the last season but that would have been so great
Bora Kesal but he's Korea. That wouldn't have made any sense.
GucciArzola it's not racist you fuck
Swhdju is amazing he was quoting Ricky Gervais' ending line.
Omg your right
Meta moment: Michael’s mug actually says “World’s Funniest Boss,” but because he is Japanese and modest, he says that he is “JAPAN’S Funniest Boss.”
My friend shared me this skit, as a Japanese fan of The Office and Steve Carell I literally laughed out watching this. Also Bill's Japanese-katakana-ish pronunciation of "assistant" is very accurate.
Oihh so that's how its called when you transform an english word into a japanese pronunciation? And not translate it. I always wondered about it...
@@AbbyTimeLady Not just English words, I think they do it with any occidental word :) For example, spanish "flamenco"
@@ZurditaDinamita es verdad que no solo en inglés, gracias!
Does this mean that the Asian jim prank that jim played on dwight is switched with jim actually being white.
Yes
So in the Japanese version that would be canon
They should have had Jon Krasinski cameo as White Jim for the prank LOL
Woke

This must have been so weird for people who have never seen the office before.

The attention to detail is awesome. Like “Jim” fidgeting with chopsticks instead of a pen after pranking “Dwight”.. Or “Stanley” solving sudoku instead of crosswords.
Lol the fact that Hader looks exactly like Dwight 😂😂, and when Kristen covered her mouth to laugh, oh man I laughed out loud there. Good skit
Pretty sure Bill actually auditioned for Dwight
Never realized how the laugh track does NOT work with the office
But it’s with real ppl
the office is the amazing show we all know and love because it's based off he akwards moments. The laughing relieves the tension making it less noticeable
Laugh tracks are only for shows that aren't actually funny like Big Bang Theory
Teddy DiSanti your right
Teddy DiSanti the big bang theory uses a live audience and not laugh tracks
As a japanese speaker, they're speaking real japanese just with funny pronunciation.
The pronunciation isn't even that bad

*They really nailed Micheal Scott, not gonna lie.*

Yes so cool he was castificationed in both
I'm currently learning Japanese right now in school, and my goal at the end of the year is to re-watch this sketch and finally understand every word if of it.
Edit a year later: So we didn't learn a lot of dictionary words, it was mostly the written language and a lot of sentences grammar, plus some basic phrases. I understand a little more now but just barely.
Luckily, there are three more levels of Japanese I can take the next three years, so hopefully by then I can achieve my original goal???
Can you now
How you doing now?
the pronunciation makes it a little difficult lol
ive been learning japanese and it's so hard to understand bc their pronounciation is not that great and there's no subtitles :(
wakaranai
Using the language barrier as the element to create awkwardness for an English speaking audience is a very cerebral take on comedy. I like this one a lot.
It's not the language barrier that creates the awkwardness, it's the awkwardness 😂
Ngl Bill Hader looks 100% like the bobblehead that Angela gave to Dwight.
It totally does!
It disturbs me how right you are.
