I love that you’ve come all this way to LA. Feels crazy to have followed you from the beginning and now your so close to San Diego interviewing all the local legends. Great to have you in Southern California man! Enjoy the rides!
Obsessed with his vids. It’s great to finally know some of Safa’s background! Terry B and some of the NY hotline crew like Krussia and Shogun next please!!!
its different when you know have a medic ready and a clear road down the lane, its no brainer that pidcock is the better cyclist, but safa mexico descent is different type of adrenaline
Thanks Francis...LA is looking better every day . My kids live in Cali now , next move is the last one , from right coast to left . 3 bikes , no waiting
I’ve visited LA from the UK a few times now and have never ridden my bike there. Really feels like I’m missing out and more so missing out not having a gravel bike. Loved this, love Safa and love Cade! Yes boys!
If you do ride maybe ask about some low traffic roads. The popular riding roads in the LA area (PCH, Mullholland, GMR, Angeles Crest) tend to have a lot of car traffic at all times and a lot of motorcycle traffic on weekends.
@@mrvwbug4423 thanks for the advice mate! Fortunate enough to have family on my other half’s side out there, one of whom is also a cycling degenerate and will be able to help prevent me from riding onto a freeway 😅

If your a bigger dude descending Tuna take caution because you will overcook your brakes trying to slow for some of the turns. I did it on rim brakes 87 K and got serious brake fade on aluminum rims.
I'm not even a roadie and still love watching Brian's videos. It's especially funny when he passes cars. I also remember watching him pass MTBers on his gravel bike one of his gravel videos when he was going down a popular singletrack descent in Utah.
...passing cars down the mountains is actually one of the most s**** things one can do on a bike. You can actually see that cars need to brake to save the cyclist who is passing them... When I was riding motorbike along the Italian mountains there were some cyclists passing me and the cars in front of me through the tight corners... Because the bike has narrow tyres and can turn faster. I overtook them back in next 2 seconds (because that is what you do with a car and motorbike: you accelerate out of the corner) wondering, what is wrong with them? I wear full protection on my motorbike, they ride naked and try to race me?... Complete id***. But hey, who am I to judge them? No wonder here and there a serious accident happens...

SEFA is so cool! Watched many of his videos, over last half a year. Not just because of the speed, but for the views! Few quite spectacular ones, to be honest. As he says, you can't max out more than the road allows for. Want to play with speed - add some common sense to it. Specially on a public road.
his is a contradiction. Fearless like that and “nice person” don’t really go together. What I see is an inconsiderate and selfish person. Sad to see CM featuring him. - PS: Didn’t watch the video. Saw him once and that was enough.

Please not this guy. I totally dislike him. Pretends he is cautious but he just isn’t. Propagating the wrong attitude and taking massive risks on public roads. Completely unacceptable.
The best LA tour guide of all the radest roads and trails. No doubt.

Check out SAFA Brian's video where he going downhill with a bunch of guys on modified skateboards. That's some insanity!
The opening minute feels like a scene from Withnail & I.
Love the collab with Safa!
Love it! Been waiting for you to do a vid with him and it didn't disappoint!
Descending with Safa is entering to different level
An other great video Francis! Like how you're highlighting the very talented Scott riders.

Great one! Love the ride along and chat vids. 👌🏻
He also sounds like an ex-South African (SAFA?) - Awesome video, enjoyed it! Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa! 👍

I’ve learned more about cycling in LA from Francis in the past couple years than I have actually taking a bike out in LA 😂
Ah... to descend with SAFA.. He could drop me on gravel tires while I would be on the stickiest road tires.. 🤣
What SAFA said at then end of the video. It's exactly like Trackmania...😂
Scary coming down Tuna. Not because of the road but because you might meet some eejit who ignored the one-way signage.
Gotta love those California drivers haha
This is like the wing suit base jumping game, statistically, one day, he’s going to catch a car. But , he’d have lived a rare life.
I can’t place his accent. Where did he grow up before traveling?
He's originally from South Africa, but spent many years in Australia and Mexico.
Finally, the video we knew was coming!
Safa is one of the coolest dudes in LA on a bike… BTW, Tuna Canyon is an amazing white knuckle decent… 😅🍻

I don't really like SAFA's content, because he takes a lot of unnecessary risks, endangering the people he shares the road or path with.
