- Cervical cancer is a highly preventable and treatable form of cancer. However, in low- and middle-income countries, too many women continue to experience morbidity and mortality from cervical cancer. In 2020 alone, more than 340 000 women worldwide died from the disease.
To mark the anniversary of the launch of the Global Strategy for the Elimination of Cervical Cancer, Dr Partha Basu, Head of Early detection, Prevention & Infections at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), presents several online learning resources on cervical cancer screening.
