Jay & Amber, you'll love their "I Need You" and "Lonely People" !!!
Daisy Jane too!
I totally agree. Lonely People, I Need You, and Daisy Jane, all great songs.
I'd like to add " Today's the Day" an underrated favorite.
The pre-disco Bee Gees of the 60's & 70's were soft rock and harmonies. You need to dig deeper into that era. "New York Mining Disaster 1941", " Started a Joke," "Words", "Massachusetts", and "How To Mend a Broken Heart" are just a few.
I've suggested Words many times in the past. If they do it, I hope it's the studio version and not that version that they did live in later years.
Lonely Days!
This was from their "View From The Ground" album which spawned their comeback hit "You Can Do Magic". "Inspector Mills" had some chart success in The Philippines.
However, America's debut album is my go-to album because it is the first piece of music I ever listened too. In 2005, I met Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell after an America concert in Lowell, MA. I told them this factoid. Dewey jokingly asked, "Did your parents force you to listen to us". But Gerry got what I was saying and nodded his head in understanding.
Anyhow, I suggest your next America reaction should be "I Need You" or "Never Found The Time" which was written by the late Dan Peek.
Shalom aleikhen, Are you sure it was the 1st piece of music you ever heard, mine was Hava Nagila!¡!
@@Joseph-wf4qg I am as sure as the sun rising in the East.
I love all of America's hit songs, but this is the first time I heard this! I really like it!
You Can Do Magic, Honey, I Need You, Sandman, Only in Your Heart, The Border, Cast the Spirit ....all gold from these soft Pop Legends.
America were formed by three Army Brats, whose parents were all serving in the UK. They toured the UK and appeared on Top of the Pops before returning to the US. One of my best memories is the very first time driving down the Ventura Highway with the window open and Wolfman Jack played the song. Amazing and I’ve always thought a sign that I would not return home, which I didn’t. ✌️✌️
Where is your home?
@@kathyrizzi8754long story short, that was a vacation trip 40 years ago from the UK. I met a guy in a bar in San Diego on my last day who offered me a job, and I never took the plane home. True story. ✌️
@@andymageen5308 living in the U.S. was great 60, 50 & 40 yrs ago, great music, prices were cheap. The Vietnam war & racism were not a good thing, but we had the best music to fall back on. I enjoyed those years that left me with wonderful memories.👍👏👏👏
This came out in 82 when I was 13. I bought the album because I love America and I loved the first hit from this album "You Can Do Magic". As soon as I started listening I loved this song too. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
You have to react to these; Lonely People, Don’t Cross the River, I Need You, Daisy Jane, Sandman, Three Roses, Woman Tonight, Only in your Heart. Any and all of them!
Dang. I've never heard this one. Looks like I need to dig deeper into their catalog because this is terrific.
You should check out Lonely People by America.
Love America!! Saw them in ‘76, @ Lloyd Noble!! “Lonely People” is still my favorite!!🤘🔥
Saw them at the LNC myself... I think it was in 76
@@davidyerkey7425 looked it up February’77
The 70's is the best slow rock music
Another wonderful song I never would have heard, if I didn't follow your reactions. Thank you
One of my favorite 70s bands
Thank you. So happy you're getting deeper into there catalog. There is so many great tunes that weren't chart makers. My one suggestion today would be Head and Heart. A rare song that had the whole band sing lead on different verses.
I’ve never heard this one before.
I never heard this song before. Had a massive crush on the singer Gerry Beckley. Next, react to a very different type of song from them, "Sandman" and a sexy one called "Molten Love."
Notice that there are only two members here since Dan Peek left the group in 1977 and this is from 1982. America has so many great hits, I don't know how you discovered this non-single non-hit. Look up their first Greatest Hits album and I suggest "I Need You" or "Daisy Jane".
Love America!🇺🇸👌
America has many great hits as you know. You can add this song to their greats!👍♥️🐙♥️
DON HENLEY - " All She Wants To Do Is Dance Dance " / and. " Sunset Grill " 1985 mega top billboard hits . Jay and Amber these 2 songs are really good with some of the coolest sounds of the 80s
Loved it fab voice all around sound of the band is cool. You should look up a band called YES and there hit Owner of a lonely heart you will both love it I'm sure.❤
have you ever asked yourselves and wondered why they dont make compositions and music like this anymore? sometimes I wonder if it all just goes in a roundabout abd that music will like fashion trends will get a revisiting not just a rediscovering but an active retro style influence or reintroduction into this eras mainstream music....
Lead guitar on this song was by Steve Lukather
This was a bit later in their career. Their hit off this album was Russ Ballard's "You Can Do Magic", but I also love "Never Be Lonely", more of their classic sound. This song is almost Beatleish.
Another great deep track by America is “Survival.”
guys there is this beautiful AMERICA song called ALL MY LIFE, you guys should check it out
I thought I had heard everything from them but this was new.
probably because it was not released as a single from their 1982 album
@@surlechapeau - It was released on a single, but as the B side of "Right Before Your Eyes".
Hey Y'all, hope all is well. America does have some amazing music. I also think u'd love the song "Sentimental Lady" by Bob Welch, an awesome song from mid 70s. Thanx so much, stay groovy, Peace
Great, great band, who are STILL touring!
This is Gerry Beckley on lead vocals, and he sort of became the love song writer in the band, whilst his partner, Dewey Bunnell was the nature song writer, I.e. "Horse With No Name" and "Ventura Highway"
So many great songs!
Would recommend "From A Moving Train" and "Hope".
"HOPE" is such an AMAZING uplifting song!!!!!
Wilson Phillips - 'Release Me'! It's been such a long time since you guys reacted to 'Hold On'. The blonde-headed girl named Chynna Phillips is the daughter of John & Michelle Phillips, of The Mamas & the Papas. Wendy and Carnie Wilson are daughters of Marilyn Wilson of The Honeys and Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys! The girls all grew up together in Los Angeles, CA, in the '70s and '80s! I love their beautiful voices that blend seamlessly! Would love to watch your reaction to 'Release Me'! Such a powerfully written song!
This is the first time I've ever heard this song. It has a very dark vibe to it. I think the story is he murdered his girlfriend out of rage and is trying to lead the inspector on a wild goose chase to find the body. I may be wrong but that is the feeling I got from it.
Did you know that, "America, " served in Vietnam as US Air Force Security Policemen? I am a Air Force Security Policeman veteran myself
I cant believe this before Daisy Jane. Yet. My fav just has to wait i guess.
“I need you” is a must listen to song
Hello Jay & Amber, this song isn't necessarily one of my favorites. But it does show the bands versatility, just as you said. Here's another one of their songs, if interested. This is more like the style Amber was referring to as their "soft rock" style with sweet harmonies. "America - Dasy Jane (This is a studio version) (by the channel: Gil_Favor) Thanks for sharing. peace out~
Full disclosure I can’t remember this song name. So I am looking forward to this video. Thank you.
If you haven't already checked it out, Sandman is a must.
GOOD SHOW. Try Clint Black's Marshall Tucker cover of "Bob Away My Blues" Close your eyes, you will be their in the song. Enjoy
Love this one
My very favorite of theirs is … Daisy Jane. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Today Is the Day, Lonely People, and I Need You are three that you may not have heard.
Always enjoy America. suggest again please Alan parsons symphonic project "Don't Answer me "or "Time" these are great songs Members of Ambrosia and Pilot are in this group of musicians "Time" is very soft put beautiful .This is live from Colombia please, please. Thank you
Yes, I have the DVD. Great concert.
Sandman was their first big hit and a great, great song. Slightly darker and more serious than their later songs.
This song was done after their hey day of hit songs and does not have the same harmonies. It is okay though not their best!
It was the B-side to the single "Right Before Your Eyes" released in late 1982 which peaked @ #45 on the Billboard Hot 100. This was long after George Martin was their producer.
Jay and Amber you'll both love this song " MOONSHINE " - PHILHARMONIC 2000 from 1976 this song also has that same feel of the Drums and Violins & Cool Bass plus some groovy cowbell very emotional and soulful too. Highly recommend it.
For your next America song, I suggest "Daisy Jane."
his voice is almost synonymous with another singer from that era Christopher Cross.....I like this song used to be a favourite jamming song with my old friends when we were young and Sister Golden hair...
You should react to Sandman, Daisy Jane, I Need You, and Lonely People.
One of my favorite stories is the last unicorn and America song called the last unicorn for the animated movie of that book! I love the Melody to that song!
Really? America did a song for that movie? Haven't seen that film in 40 years. Great excuse to find a copy and show it to my daughters.
@@jxchamb yes they did, Kenny Logins cover it on his album “Poohs Corner” maybe you heard his version.
Oh just seen you've already played Owner of a lonely heart.xx
Great song! Definitely "Lonely People" should be your next choice by America.
I don't remember this one. Good job.
Never heard this one but it is good
In the same style of this band, check out The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, "Ripplin' Waters"!
Good song good reaction
Karl Denver Singing Wimoweh.
Listen to their song, Hat Trick. Long song with great structural changes.
This was after Dan Peek left the band.
Here are a few that you may like. Another Try, Amber Cascades, Daisy Jane, Old Man Took.
Somehow I missed this one….
Seether - Gasoline
Love this band never heard this one before not one of their hits.
I like the song. Not all songs need to be hits.
they rock ; listen to "california revisited"
The biggest hit from this album was “You Can Do Magic”. The Rob Squad sure makes some unusual selections but it seems to work for them. I still think that they need to react to a serious song from Ray Stevens with “ Everything Is Beautiful” as the obvious choice. Also, the Don Williams version of “Tulsa Time” is the definitive version even though Clapton originally released his in the same year.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
America had a solid run of hits from 1972-76, but the soft-rock genre quickly declined in popularity after that due to the rise of what is known today as classic rock, and also the rise of disco. The 80s of course saw the rise of new wave pop and MTV. America did have a one-off hit in 1982 with "You Can do Magic", but it was written by someone else.
Hi guys! there's a band i think you would really like. They're called Cross Canadian Ragweed. Could you please do the song and video for the tune 17. Oh yeah, they're Oklahoma boys, thanks!
Muskrat Love is great by America
You should check out Right Before Your Eyes, a cover of Ian Thomas.
Beautiful Song, Thank you guys

You haven't done Dan Fogelberg in a long time and I am going to continue to request that you get back to him. Also, it's been a while since you have done Billy Squier and Cinderella.
This was smooth and jovial. Halloween Patreon Movie Suggestion: Silent Hill.

Could play "Three Roses" too?
Check out some Brownsville Station.. smoking in the boys room... As always ✌️👍from Alabama
Please Play Vinnie Vincent - Love Kills.
Any song off their Greatest Hits CD would have been more representative of what this band meant to us in the 70s and 80s.
I like that they do deeper cuts. You can always pull up any song you want on YT and listen to them yourself. I like this song which I've never heard before and most likely would still never if it wasn't for this reaction. Have a nice day. :)
Never heard this song before. I guess a hit in the Philippines, but an album cut in the states. React to other America album cuts like "Riverside" or "Sandman" next. Thanks. 😎
Pretty popular in the Philippines even today.
🎉🎉🎉LRB🎉🎉🎉
Always by Killswitch Engage(the official video) it's an amazing, emotional song .
