My son stoppend growing at age 8. Im greatful to this day to the teacher who ppointed it out. As a parent I could not see anything wrong I was not expecting anything wrong with my children. He was the second born son. Im naturalky big woman his dad was also average hight so both parents normal growth. He also came back home and started asking me questions. I took him to a paedetrician who checked him up nad recommended he sees an endocrinologist. We went there and yes his growth had stopped according to the tests that the doctor did. He was 2 yrs behind boys his age group. His problem was a thyroid that was not producing enough growth hormone. His thyroid was sluggish. He was put o. Thyroid medication. He started growing amd caught up. He is now 13yrs old and looks like his peers. To God be the glory!!!

Please help how can i see an endocrinologist ....my child is not growing she is 7 but she looks like a 2 year old but i was told she was going to be a little person.

I used to struggle a lot with accepting myself and it was made worse by the type of work I do where I have speak in front of people all the time. That was until I learned to laugh at myself and that has been a coping mechanism for me for years and it works. So I can identify with the guest's approach.

I'm Phatiswa Jonas from Cape Town, 31y/o, I have the same type of dwarfism or growth hormone deficiency. I was also bullied growing up but I learned to adjust and deal with it.
Likely with me when I was still studying my doctor(Dr. Delport) did research of my growth hormone and I used to take growth hormone injection every night. Even though it was expensive, my parents medical aid couldn't cover my medication anymore due to funds. I must admit it worked cause back in High School I was under a meter tall and now I'm 1.3m tall.
I'm happy with myself cause I've learnt to accept who I am. I pray that one day I can inspire others and tell my story to the world. I'm able to do whatever that a normal person can do.

I used to say he was a dwarf but I was amazed why he looked so young, like literally young. Now I know there's something called growth deficiency
Yeah, he's not a dwarf. He just stopped growing at 11years.
You should also look into "Giant syndrome", it is very interesting.

I won't even touch on the confidence but his level of maturity and the God him is just a blessing and he is a blessing to watch. We share a mutual friend and I think when we were at her wedding I stared a bit especially with wifey but my mind said don't you wouldn't like it so I kept it pushing.

Wena, why are you so beautiful and eloquent? You make your interviews seem so easy and enjoyable. Thank you for this show. Every time I watch your shows, I learn something. I laughed when Themba said his coffin wouldn't be expensive. I'm 54 and I keep thinking what size coffin they'll for me. 😊😊 I lost both my legs in September 2019 through surgery. I've gone from a height of 167cm to 117cm. 😄 I'm still learning how to live with myself in my new normal.

This was school. He attends my church but I’ve never been able to ask because people need their privacy, also people come to church just to fellowship. Now we know what to do with our children or advise our friends. Thank you for the lessons.
I love your amazing work Themba. You got when you know that your look doesn't prohibit the purpose God has to bring you to world. I was also bullied because I'm short and petite even my family. I was lonely coz being with people devastated me. Today I'm proud to say I'm beautiful soul inside out and have very successful life. God was only family and friend I had so im grateful he carried me and He do even today. God bless you and your family.
I'm a lady and I'm 1,5 meters tall and when I lived in South Africa I would always get comments about my height which would always remind me of how different I am from people my age group. But ever since I left SA I forget that I'm so short. People just receive with love and respect
