Interesting how the starters get a secondary type that counters the starter that they’re weak against.
Fire -> Grass -> Water -> Fire // Rock -> Flying -> Fighting -> Rock
The only official Pokemon game that did this was the XY games. SM/USUM would've done so but Ghost doesn't exactly spook Fairy

It's similar to pearl and diamond. Because it had started of a type able to deal super effective damage to the other starters.

the only problem i have with this, is how water/flying will counter grass/fighting immensely more, cuz of the 4x times weakness grass/fighting gets to flying, while the others only hit for their respective normal type chart effectiveness... expect that rock doesn't even hit flying for anything more than neutral aswell because of water... water/flying seems a bit to strong compared to the matchups between the trio imo.

Retrope is SUCH a fun concept. At first glance, I also kinda dismissed it or wasn't super on board with it, but what a FUN idea. I love the other forms, esp the car

Eldram would definetly be my starter for this region.

Hot take: I Don’t like the Hero/Villain Pokémon. They feel too similar to Yokai Watch designs to be Pokémon.
For me it’s just characters, no secondary element to separate them from the one inspiration
Does that go the same for Gallade the hero, Gardevoir the damsel in distress and Garchomp the beast ? Actually that makes sense why they got megas they’d fit great in a animated series

My Wescoian team is probably one of my most unique teams for a fakemon region, since it's usually Water starter, regional bird, the dogmon, Grass/Psychic/Fairy waifu (preferably 3 stage), and then two other random mons with good designs.
Eyas is the term used to describe chicks from any bird of prey including eagles, hawks, and yes osprey.
I think the “Sak” in Sakhaos’s name comes from Sockeye which is very common on the west coast. Also yes Sake is Japanese for salmon.

As cool as the comic book Pokémon are, they feel a bit forced and not like Pokémon. It doesn't feel right that human-based Pokémon exist in the Pokémon world. Also, some fakemon combine a lot of unrelated things which takes away some of the fun for me. I know some Pokémon do that and I hold an equal standard to Pokémon. All of my own fakemon designs have things that correlate to each other in some way relevant to the region of the world its based on.
I love Crookid and Darkowl.
But mostly Jokrime's design turned me off in that it was LITERALLY the Joker
Captalon is definitely the best choice of starter here, considering Bruizzly has a x4 weakness to flying and, as mentioned in the video, Eldram has a x4 weakness to Water.
In a competitive side... yes it's! But on design side? **sigh** in my opinion, it's good, pretty good actually! But i personally like the other two more!

Barberi is a Tamato berry, which has the Spicy flavour profile, which might be why the final evolution is breathing fire.
Honestly Immix evolution might be one of the best new mechanics I've ever seen in a fan region.
oh my God, what a spectacular region, I just loved practically all the fakemons that appeared in the video so it was really hard for me to choose a team with the ones I liked the most, but after a while I thought and here it is: grizzly(grass/ fighting) Engineigh(fire/steel) Lutricity(water/electric) Luthority(dark/psychic) terreign(ground/ghost) iciclaw(poison/ice)
Turkeys bred on a farm cannot fly but wild turkeys are able to fly. Fun fact, wild turkeys are the largest bird able to fly(just googled that)
You know, a US West Coast would be perfect for a Pokémon region, in fact, wouldn't be surprised that it could be the Gen X Region.

Seattle, WA (Grass)
Portland, OR (Steel)
San Francisco, CA (Fighting)
Los Angeles, CA (Fire) (Served as the largest city in the region, with multiple sectors like in previous entries)
San Diego, CA (Water)
Sacramento, CA (Dark)
Phoenix, AZ (Ground or Rock)
Las Vegas, NV (Electric or Psychic)
The other towns without Gyms could be based off of:
Boise, ID
Eugene, OR
Reading, CA
Fresno, CA / Bakersfield, CA
Elko, NV.
You can also based the Region's Power Plant on the Hoover Dam, which would be on the outskirts of the Las Vegas, NV-based city

I mean... its a sabretooth tiger cub. Of course Pokémon based off of that animal are going to show some similarities to Feafurr and Vaicear. Outside of the pose, Feafurr and Cubble don't look very similar.
I enjoyed mostly all the pokémon especially the secondary starters. I didn’t really like the comic book pokémon because they looked to human like. Good consept though. Overall i would love to play this region and the pokémon designs are great and creative.

I think the prechu idea is based on the idea that all mammals evolved from small rodent like mammals after the dinosaurs died off.
An Eyas is the more obscure term for a baby Eagle/Hawk/Falcon/Osprey. I learned that while researching for my Liba, or Libara, I still don't really know, region. I'd definitely choose Ospray.

They are all amazing type combos, with, like you said, fighting being strong against rock, rock against flying and flying against fighting.
But the best out of the 3 ends up being Water/Flying who not only gets neutral hits from grass types now but it also has 4x strong STAB against the other 2 starters (fire/rock is 4x weak to water and grass/fighting is 4x weak to flying).
To be fair, you can say Wesco and Cornera would hypothetically border each other, hence similar Pokémon like the Pyrats

I would pick the Captalon line in a heartbeat.
Wild Turkeys can fly well enough to hang out in trees and avoid predators. While they aren't the BEST fliers in the region, they're surprisingly good at it.
Eyas being a term for some birds aside, it also sounds like Aye as in "Aye Aye Captain!"

Could that mean Oakub's japanese name could be something like ... Mokuma? Considering moku (木) means tree or wood and kuma (熊) means bear/cub. That would make it's japanese name Mokuma (モクマ).
When I saw Eldram, I realized it's a viking from Minnessota, because of that joke in the first Pokémon movie that they kept in the dub
I just started watching these different Region fakemon dexes while eating and chilling in my room and this is definitely my top 2, if not top 1 so far. Simple, yet effective designs, names are top notch, all three starters and evolutions are amazing as a whole.

Maybe the Wesco Region could have a Electric Fighting type pokemon superhero based on SHAZAM named LAZER: with the speed of Latios, the wisdom of Azelf, the power of Zekrom, the bravery of Entei and the strength of Regigigas(according to legend).
I know I'm late but heirest was a top teir name and design to me. It was a cocoon, for resting. And it was shaped like another bug to protect it from predators. That was dope af to me.

Those designings are actually nuts! One thing that i would really like to see is an Fighting-type Turkey, because if don't know when ever they get angry the turkeys inflate their's jowls to fight each others, it could inspirer an ability, "perhappes" it could be like the move counter. And there is second starter trio? Daaaaaaaaamn! Wotter is Shockling (pun obviously intended), Ocelit is cool, and Treever? Cool too, but i think the artist shouldn't have done a chainsaw tail on the evolution, but is good over all.

I'm usually not against bipedal pokemon, but the bipedal pokemon in this pokemon are just straight up humans

Honestly..as a person who lives in the west coast..the variety here is actually pretty good so far. I like their designs..
Now for my team. Starter would be Captalon. Then I would choose Darkowl, Herobust, and Wamazon. Then Satanisaur, and then finally it's Axorcist. Though as back up it'll be Beryvern.
One thing I don’t like about nearly all Fakemon regions is how the two box legendary Pokemon are opposites, but in a good vs. evil way. The official Pokemon games are opposites, but they are also equal too. Sun and Moon, one legendary isnt marked as the good one and the other evil, same with Sword/Shield, Black/White, etc. The exception is X/Y where one is life and the other is death, but the game titles don’t explicitly say that. Fakemon games like this, one is Virtue, labeled as the “good guy” Pokemon, while the other is labeled as the “bad guy” Pokemon. If a person who hasn’t played Pokemon before is about to get the latest new games, they would mostly likely pick the one that has the good guy Pokemon, which isn’t good as basically all of the game pairs for each generation have had near-equal sales.
TLDR, I’m just not a fan of fakemon box legendaries/game titles being a good vs evil because the official games don’t do it

Dude I love Snowmie so much. And if he was in the games there could be an alternate region form called GNOMIE! Gnome instead of snowman. So cool.
1) The Ospray line gets 4X STAB against both other starters (water doing 4X against the Kidle line and flying doing 4X against the Oakub line) so it intentional or not it kinda got an unfair advantage either way.
2) Crookid is a very clever three way play on Crook, Kid and Crooked.
3) Wamazom should have been spelled Whamazon
4) Sakhaos has themes of the Sockeye salmon and the prehistoric sabertooth salmon, which I love
5) I think Berrage's name is more a play on the word barrage.
6) Beryvern is breathing fire because the Barbery is visually similar to the tamato berry which is renowned for being so spicy. I think since it's also themed after a wyvern it would likely have poison type attacks in its moveset.
All in all, I loved the review for this region. The pokemon are beautiful and all cleverly named, the characters are also beautifully designed and I think the hippy theme for the Champion is very fitting for a West Coast region (speaking as someone from the west coast, myself.)
I really love so many of these designs. I love all the starters and my favorite is the legendary for Vice. My team tho I would have to go with to get type coverage would be Swarmutt, Beryvern, Iciclaw, Poultree, Venisin, and Pampurd.
Love Eldram!! It's my pick for the starters! Also, the names on this fakemon list puts actual pokemon namings to shame!! 😂

I love the designs of the pokemon, especially the starters of this west coast american region. And I also love the fusion evolution gimmick of this region I would definitely play Pokemon Virtue and this would be my team.

Why would you make the first Non-Reptile Grass starter the Dumbest?
Seriously had they made Delphox a Clown Fire/Psychic rather than a Pyro Witch and gave Chesnaught the elements like Bruizzly, the three starters would have been as good as the Hoenn trio.
As for Decidueye, he's good the way he is in Alola.

Jokrime being Fairy gives it a 4x super effective stab vs Darkowl, which feels counter intuitive to what it should be. Instead, Jokrime would match its inspiration better with a Dark/poison typing. It still takes neutral damage from Darkowl's stab attacks, but now doesn't have any syab super effective attacks vs Darkowl.
