Also I'd be kicking your butt as far as starters go because I picked Obscuring. While I'd also take Trollosus and Majestings.
I'm not 100% sure, but Flamur's name might come from 'flame' and 'mur', which, in Finnish, is the sound that dogs make while growling. The verb 'to growl' in Finnish is actually 'murista' :)
I'm kinda disappointed, because in one of Sir PragMagik's insurgence live video (episode 4). I commented about the Norden region. And I thought I would get a shoutout But maybe he already has this region in mind. Anyways. My team consists of: Infernound (Fire/Ghost) - Honestly the best looking starter plus I love using the fire starter as my first pokemon in a new region. It also has pretty great physical attack. Norden Garchomp (Water/Dragon) - Easily one of the best typings in the game with only 2 weakness. Also this version of garchomp is more a special attacker than a physical one. Thunderailer (Electric/Dragon) - I honestly want Arcanine more since it has dark but when I learned it can still evolve and is one par with a pseudo-legend with a base stat of 590... you know you must get it. Thunderailer is a Special attacker. Trolossus - It is a pretty good mon ngl despite having a base stat total of 500. It has pretty good attack and speed but the ability is not great. Nonetheless it is great since it can take advantage of stab Earthquake. Valkirien (Fairy/Steel) - a very good typing, plus it is one of the pseudo-legends of the game, and it can sweep a ton of teams with that Sky high base attack and lightning fast speed. Dragrism (Dragon/???) - It's mystery typing is somewhat confusing but from my understanding it can be any type as long has you have a gem (the ones introduced in Gen 5, the power-up gems). It is also a Pseudo-legend of the game with balanced stats. Overall I think this is a pretty hard team to train up since it has 4 (actually 3) pseudo-legends but I do what I want. And I want to know your thoughts about it. Let me know!
Even though this is all awesome..I especially love the valkyrie based on Valkirien and Valhalgon. This does bring up a question. What happens if the canon version of the Nordic region pokemon end up being the same if not similar to these designs..is that fine? Or is that copyright infringing? Cause even though the region pokemon that people are making from Nordic, Phillipines, Egyptian, African regions. Their all awesome. But does that also make it harder for GameFreak to make pokemon designs based on said regions if that happens? Or maybe I'm just being silly. What do you all think? Aside from this. My team would be Obsuring for starters, Valkrien, Valhalgon, Nettlesque, Dragrism, Ymirstodon.
I don't really think so tbh, these designs are more like the earlier gens where they take inspiration from a variety of cultures and sources rather than just Scandinavia, but since gen 7 the official games have been leaning much further into the specific regions culture and only have a small few odd ball designs. So I'd assume if an official region were to exist it wouldn't really look like this since these pokemon are more foreign
Fakemons are so fun. I am creating a fakemon region based on my homecountry (Italy) Unfortunately i can't draw and i don't have the money so i dont have any drawings, i just describe them. Its pretty fun though
My only gripe with the Norden region is that it's missing a Dragon/Fighting pseudo-legend based on the Dovahkiin, and a Ghost/Fire type regional Ponyta based on Arvak... (I freakin' LOVE Skyrim!)
The ninth region may not be based on Northern Europe but we pray for Game Freak to create the ninth region to be based on Germany, the water starter to be a monkey, and the grass starter to be feminine respectively.
Bone guy's name is Kimimaro. One of the best Rock Lee fights by far! Anyway,I love the idea of a nordic region. The lore up there is so rich and diverse, that would be a cool fangame, for sure. The scars on Belurg just HAVE TO BE a One Piece reference! I loved that whale I defiitely wanted to pick the grass starter and then Grapaconda came along and ruined that for me. So ring boy it is now
I am mixed tbh, many of these are bangers but some of them, specially the armored/biped ones feel too similar to each otber, like theyre doing gardevoir/gallade many times in the same region. is due to the proportions, I noticed it instantly and is kinda distracting. Grapaconda and Ymirstodon real MVPs btw.
If we brought it back thanks to the crystals found in Cornera ( Brandon’s region based on his home land and the only name I know is it name “ the four corners region “ ) it would’ve been water dragon 47:51
So this region doesn‘t have a single Flying type full evolution? Only the two birds of the region (and the last Evo is not even flying type) and the Legendary? I really love Flying type Pokémon and I am very disappointed in this Dex/Region.
I love how it's called Light and Dark, given I had the same idea years back. My idea was the Light Pokemon to be Seraph-themed with a signature move called Blinding Gaze, and the Dark Pokemon to be Lovecraft-themed with a signature move called Blinding Maw.
Now don’t get me wrong, the aegislash mjolnir is really cool but I kinda wish it looked closer to the mjolnir from Norse mythology rather than the one from marvel comics
Pretty solid designs. I think the water starter needs some reworking, but the final Evo isn't bad. Over all I think there's too many pokemon here with bones incorporated into the design. Also, there are two pokemon inspired by Viking ships, so they'd have to cut one or combine them 24:10 & 37:23 not to mention the Evo for the ghost type
wow. unknowing of this, i was brainstorming for my own Nordic Pokemon region, and the starter ideas were: grass steel type megaloceros (extinct giant deer) with elements from Andvari's ring, a cursed ring of myth that inspired lord of the rings a fire doggo who would have dwarf elements and evolve into some combination of a bear and Fenrir, another Nordic beast of myth the ideas for the water starter are still vague, but i was thinking about a water/fairy type witch heron would would have grey coloration in the middle stage, and more white in the last stage to reference Gandalf
As I'm from Europe... I believe a Grimmsnarl regional line would make a lot of sense being Grass/Rock... as we have a nordic troll that usually is are out of rocks and moss. But I believe Grimmsnarl itself will be a bit rounder in shape and possibly have a rounder and bigger nose.
This person is very talented. I really like the psychic and ghost types here! I appreciate the dragon and steel types too as those I feel are more challenging to create a concept with.
I'm a ten year old and me and my freind are coding a pokemon region inspired off of sri lanka, starters are grass, poison, ground, those being Orchirp, Scid, Gairaffe, then the final evos, Orchidrion, Arachnodrill, Runeraffe, along with variants of the hoenn starters as your two companions. Teams also now go up to 8. The new type is the fungus type. There's a two mimikyu evos, copiyu or foloyu depending on evo, and loads more :)
The inspiration for the Nettlesque line probably should've been obvious based on the name, but it's based on stinging nettles. It has the poison typing because when stinging nettles come in contact with skin they release a chemical that causes irritation
You inspired me to draw up my newly revised region. I want to get the pokemon drawn and potentially commission some dex-entries for them all at some point.
I think Muskur is based on a type of ox that lives in the northern Sweden called myskoxe wich means muskox if im not mistaken, a long haired, rather short ox that is said to run faster uphills than downhills.
Beeboth and Ymirstadon have got to be some of my all time favorite Fakemon ever. I hope Prag reviews the Fakemon region based of Greece. The names for the "games" are Pokemon Wisdom and Madness.
mmm.... Me being a Norse Pagan and knowing a lot about the lore and style, I feel like they couldn't done better with more nordic designs... That's just me tho! Example: I would have loved to see pseudo legendaries take the form of Skoll and Hati, rune-like pokemon similar to unown, maybe something like Jormangandr and Fenrir, something more akin to Ratatoskr, etc.
It'd be cool if Crowscure had an ability called bone darts and it functions similarly to rough skin and how if this Pokemon takes damage it deals damage to the other Pokemon but instead of doing so it embeds bone darts into the Pokemon doing damage over time

As for Flamound, did you miss that it is the Mastiff pokemon? A Mastiff is a large breed of dogs. Also I'd be kicking your butt as far as starters go because I picked Obscuring. While I'd also take Trollosus and Majestings.
Hey Prag. Something tells me that you have never heard of the Stinging Nettle before. Bc I think that’s what the Nettulb line is based on.
The mohawk on Leafane seems to be inspired by the hairstyle most people cut on their Norwegian fjord horses ! So cute!
Me who only showed support for the cornera region:
Impossible
I'm not 100% sure, but Flamur's name might come from 'flame' and 'mur', which, in Finnish, is the sound that dogs make while growling. The verb 'to growl' in Finnish is actually 'murista' :)
I'm kinda disappointed, because in one of Sir PragMagik's insurgence live video (episode 4). I commented about the Norden region. And I thought I would get a shoutout But maybe he already has this region in mind. Anyways.
My team consists of:
Infernound (Fire/Ghost) - Honestly the best looking starter plus I love using the fire starter as my first pokemon in a new region.
47:49 Predaurus looks like its a Tylosaur, marine reptile from the mesozoic thats basically an early snake relative
No the pokemon company can still freely make whatever pokemon they want with no legal repercussions and most fans wouldn't bat an eye
No, infact I bet the people would be happy
Fakemons are so fun. I am creating a fakemon region based on my homecountry (Italy) Unfortunately i can't draw and i don't have the money so i dont have any drawings, i just describe them. Its pretty fun though
I’m actually part Nordic so I feel like a bit at home with this region I can’t wait for it to become a game I would probably have so much fun with it
My only gripe with the Norden region is that it's missing a Dragon/Fighting pseudo-legend based on the Dovahkiin, and a Ghost/Fire type regional Ponyta based on Arvak...
(I freakin' LOVE Skyrim!)
The ninth region may not be based on Northern Europe but we pray for Game Freak to create the ninth region to be based on Germany, the water starter to be a monkey, and the grass starter to be feminine respectively.
5:22 wolves have webbed paws, which was evolved for ease running on snow, and to swim.
16 minutes in and already was able to tell what the starters are based off of their Odin's pet wolves and his horse
Oh thanks for pointing that out I love mythology
I love Flaries, especially because having incorporated Aries, being a fire sign with the logo of the goats horns. That's so cool! Such a great idea!
I loved that whale
I defiitely wanted to pick the grass starter and then Grapaconda came along and ruined that for me.
"Let me just die real quick"
- PragMagik, 2021
Very bad geeky guy you die 2023 geeky guy sorry that's drawing not she it friend
The sharboard kind of looks like a greenland shark ngl 👀👀
I love how it's called Light and Dark, given I had the same idea years back. My idea was the Light Pokemon to be Seraph-themed with a signature move called Blinding Gaze, and the Dark Pokemon to be Lovecraft-themed with a signature move called Blinding Maw.
Now don’t get me wrong, the aegislash mjolnir is really cool but I kinda wish it looked closer to the mjolnir from Norse mythology rather than the one from marvel comics
1:07:45 this Pokémon design is really cool. These corrupted forms look amazing.
something i noticed in Bjorking’s design is the Ursaring’s arms on like the neck of Bjorking
Pretty solid designs. I think the water starter needs some reworking, but the final Evo isn't bad.
Over all I think there's too many pokemon here with bones incorporated into the design. Also, there are two pokemon inspired by Viking ships, so they'd have to cut one or combine them 24:10 & 37:23 not to mention the Evo for the ghost type
wow. unknowing of this, i was brainstorming for my own Nordic Pokemon region, and the starter ideas were: grass steel type megaloceros (extinct giant deer) with elements from Andvari's ring, a cursed ring of myth that inspired lord of the rings
a fire doggo who would have dwarf elements and evolve into some combination of a bear and Fenrir, another Nordic beast of myth
the ideas for the water starter are still vague, but i was thinking about a water/fairy type witch heron would would have grey coloration in the middle stage, and more white in the last stage to reference Gandalf
11:05 that was the same idea I had but I made a chinchilla and it was named voltchilla same type
6:31 Corvus is the Latin name for Raven
36:06 I imagine that it’s shiny as well as changing its colour it would also have the lures be the shiny forms
Crowscure is fucking AWESOME!
Considering Arcanine already has a BST of 555, I don't think Thundrailer is necessary. Damned if it doesn't look cool though.
These are so awesome so much better than the passed couple gens! Glad my boy Arcanine finally got some justice with cool forms! 😁🙏🏻
52:45 no I think Prikuill is definitely based on a hedgehog and Venupine turns into a porcupine
The fact that I am part Norwegian and seeing the region/pokemon is really cool to see.
You inspired me to draw up my newly revised region. I want to get the pokemon drawn and potentially commission some dex-entries for them all at some point.
I am scared and amazed by Venopine because if it had above average defenses it would be an almost unbeatable tank.
Hoggoldiat is based on the Golden Boar Gullinbursti which is a boar that was forged by the same dwarves that made Mjolnir.
yo the intro goes so HARD 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
the valhala coporation is the living embodyment of "if at first you dont succed, give up"
Crowscure has a plauge doctor like mask and it is a skeleton corvintie
Noticed how the Bjorking has like the skin/fur of the regional Ursaring over its shoulders, that's really cool
Obscuring have like gredninja to me like is knee and water dark like gredninja and cool but im choose best starter but still im will choose him
I think Muskur is based on a type of ox that lives in the northern Sweden called myskoxe wich means muskox if im not mistaken, a long haired, rather short ox that is said to run faster uphills than downhills.
those are some seriously impressive looking concepts!
Please review the Orohn region next time. That would make me realy happy, because i started with this region the bigest part of my Fakemon love.
I would definitely choose the fire dog as my starter. Love that it evolves into a fire ghost type too. Reminds me of Skeledirge which I also love.
54:35 this is just greater dog from undertale and I love him
I think the wolf starter's connection to water is through its connection to the moon.
You don’t understand how much I want this… like I’ve wanted this for years
Beeboth and Ymirstadon have got to be some of my all time favorite Fakemon ever.
I hope Prag reviews the Fakemon region based of Greece. The names for the "games" are Pokemon Wisdom and Madness.
43:32
I accually made a reagon and the regional bug look A LOT like this (but mine was ansurantis) guess great minds think alike
Plumpur killed me, I nearly through up cuteness particles😂😂😂
Yowlark and Cubhite are adorable
Yowlark's line is my favourite
I really like Johanna's design
Shenparong is the Dunsparce evo the fandom wished we got, but tbh I like the funny double/triple segment boi
It'd be cool if Crowscure had an ability called bone darts and it functions similarly to rough skin and how if this Pokemon takes damage it deals damage to the other Pokemon but instead of doing so it embeds bone darts into the Pokemon doing damage over time
