  • How Your Lead Arm And Hand Work Through Impact
    **Want me to take a look at your swing? Then check out our membership site at www.cogornogolf.com/! That’s our online community where I work with golfers from all over the world. That’s where you can send in your swing and get feedback, priorities and direction from me to improve your game.
    This video was inspired by a segment I saw with Chris Como and Bryson DeChambeau. In that episode, they talked about Bryson maxing out the internal rotation of his left/lead shoulder or elbow. In this video I'll take you through three different scenarios of how rotation of your lead arm and hand can influence impact and feels for each.

    Best explanation of how the hands should work through impact, great lesson Eric. I tried this yesterday at the range and definitely hit it a ton better. Thank you

    Some fantastic insight into what (or how) the lead arm should rotate through impact.

    Great tip Eric!! This is what I was missing in my golf swing. I'm now hitting the ball straighter, more pure, and longer. Before, I was just trying to rotate the forearm while my elbow pointed toward the target. Unbelievable about how just a little change in getting my elbow pointed more behind me has made on my ball striking!! Thanks Eric!!

      Thanks, Hyon! Hope it helps!
      Try left elbow more toward the target on way through!

    Thanks Eric. I do have issues that seem strange at times. Five,six, and seven iron I hit generally to the left with an open club face. Eight, nine, and pitching wedge a straight pull. I have seen some single plane you tubes. I have saved both of your videos and will study prior to going to the range. Thanks for a great video, would love to come to your school but hesitant because of COVID. Stay safe my friend!

      Appreciate it, John!
      If you are pulling those shorter ones and what you are describing sounds like your downswing is over the top or too far outside in.
      Likely face too open as well and come curves right with longer clubs.
      If you dont fade longer clubs then check you arent aimed left and the ball position isn't too far forward.

    Left arm internally rotates for someone who plays a strong grip is the missing link to get away from the over draw! Thanks much!!

    Great Stuff! I've been working on this because I'm trying to get a little more shaft lean at impact but when I do this my club face is open so my thought process and something I'm working on has been to keep the back of my left hand facing down on the downswing and then facing the target at impact. its works pretty well when I do it correctly. 😉
    What do think Eric?
    Thanks!

      Sounds about right! 100% want to get the club face "squarer" earlier....

    Wow- this one is certainly getting saved! With all this focused on the feels of the left arm would you say in general that you control and power your swing mostly with left arm feels? I struggle with going back and forth between a left arm versus a right arm driven swing (right handed golfer).

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Russ!
      Thank you!
      No I would not. You could use right arm OR left arm feels. Neither controls. Both are used...this one was just on left arm this time.
      Here is more on right arm

    Hi Eric,so should I set up with my upper arm internally rotated to stop hooking? Or just feel that the elbow points towards the target at impact?? Thanks

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 роки тому

      Yeah BOTH are options that can work
      Elbow more toward target (vs left).......to setup or during downswing can help that
      Right arm more under left through impact as well
