Even though the boys knew, it still says a whole lot more that they kept eating the meals despite them knowing. Meaning, as long as the meals are delicious, they will eat it...regardless if it's vegan or not.
Jackson outright *asked* whether the burgers were vegan / beyondmeat burgers. She didn't manage to fool them at all... 😅

if you put a jar of pasta sauce and tofu in the blender it makes the sauce SUPER creamy and it's really good! We also add some random seasonings if needed.

@@kanduyog1182 Well no, the intent of the video was Hannah trying to feed them vegan meals secretly, which she did. It's not her fault that they ended up finding out, which in my opinion just adds to the video. They still enjoyed it, which just goes shows how a meal doesn't have to have meat in it for it to be a good one

Experiment more with the tofu! There are so many ways to season and cook it. Breaded, baked, marinated, fried, scrambled. Once you find a way they like and it gets more exposure, appreciation for the tofu itself will eventually follow. :)

I made vegan potato soup and cranberry sauce at my in-law's house over Christmas for one dinner (it was my turn to cook, and that's what I wanted to eat) and my SIL kept hovering like, "You could make some pork chops too. I'm sorry we don't have any chicken. What else are you going to make?" the whole time. Later on my BIL told me she always has to have meat with a meal and apparently her brain was about to explode that I wasn't serving any hahaha

I did this during quarantine. But I was mean and flat out told my kids we can’t afford meat. They just shrugged and said ok. I made up this recipe that I call vegan Mac and cheese, none of those expensive substitutes people use. Just red lentils cooked down to a creamy consistency.

And people say being vegan is expensive. Whilst yes it can be cheaper to buy unhealthy food sometimes, the average diet nowadays would cost a lot more than a vegan diet due to the meat.
As long as you avoid expensive substitutes it can be so affordable

Tofu can be so many things but as a vegan it was a journey to find ways of prepping it that I liked. I recommend the blog It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken (Sam) as she has a ton of recipes and UA-cam videos. She uses tofu a ton. Cool thing is that so many of her recipes are amazing, fast and doesn’t use a ton of processed food (if you are trying to cut back, no judgement if you aren’t). Sam is truly a magician in the kitchen.

Those crab cakes are underwhelming, I highly recommend trying the Gardein fish-free Golden Filets, they are like the EXACT SAME as fish filets. Just bake them a bit longer than it says on the package, they become crispy believe me the taste is unbelievably good. I also tried the crab cakes and felt it was a less tasty version of the filets. Try it!!! :D

Just as a heads up, as I’ve made this mistake with Quorn brand before, those meatless grounds contain egg.
Exactly. Quorn contains egg whites in most of their products and they use a form of mushroom spores for protein that many people are highly allergic to.
Last time I had their vegan chicken nuggets they were way too salty

There are amazing JACKFRUIT meat-fakes. I have seen crab cakes made from jackfruit that even look right. For meat substitutes, you’ll want unripe jackfruit, or simply purchase a can of green jackfruit.
Ripe jackfruit is an amazing flavor and texture, plus: carving and cleaning a ripe jackfruit is super-fun, and super-messy!
Your eldest really seemed to like EVERYTHING except maybe the stir fry but he seems like he loves anything you make which is amazing! I really need to start thinking about cooking more once my baby arrives!
